You photography work is always great! I think your style of filming with the voice overs is really cool. You don't have to disrupt your group for the video so much as when you directly involve them. Love your content and the fact you do this on the side but still manage to interact with your ever growing audience is pretty amazing!
Your bikes are awesome and so are your friends'. Have you thought about doing a stable run through and also a Dustin Klein-esque "Tell me about your bike," on your group rides? So many interesting parts I see in your vids!
Thanks so much! I do have a playlist with some of my bikes and I need to finish it. I also need to do more bike checks with friends. The new camera with the mic should motivate me. So many times we get into a ride then I just want to ride - which is why I do a voice over later.
I just watched that Rubber Bowl video yesterday, it was pretty interesting. I would have never have known about it, except for seeing it in your videos.
Thanks! Very perceptive to pick up on that too. I literally sat down with my cat on my lap after cutting this together with the thought "talk about Spring?". There are only 4 cuts in the voice over....
Thanks for sharing. This summer; Amsterdam to Bruges, Mickelson trail, mountain biking Fruita area and Moab trails. Just did Red Canyon to Bryce and Rio Grand from Glenwood Springs to Aspen. Hopefully it all works out and the body holds up. 😄😄😄
Love the content! No big summer rides planned - but just exploring Helsinki via bike. Love the positive vibes you bring to cycling in America. Cheers from an American living abroad.
Summer plan for mid July- ride from southern VT, up to Adirondacks and across NY on Eastern Divide. Or as much as 7 days allows! Hit me up if you want intel on Finger Lakes, especially Ithaca area routes. ✌️
I ride bike trails in sections mostly solo. This Summer I will be riding OTET North of Columbus towards Cleveland. I hope to meet Tim and take ride with his group If they are free to ride at that time. I am also trying to Finish the Niagara loop in Niagara Falls, Canada. I did the USA side during the pandemic and both sides are well worth the effort. The Erie Canal is calling me for additional sections across Western New York, as well. The Thousand Islands last summer were great to ride in the summer too, A/C is generally not required and met mostly French-Canadian cyclists on St Lawrence greenway trail between Gananoque and Brockville, Ont. The Northern trails are only open 4-5 month per year and should be done first before the weather changes. They are already having forest fire smoke warnings from Western Canada as the smoke drifts East with the Jetstream. It's all worth doing and will fill your life with positive adventures.
We have plans to fly out to Helena, MT, to ride the GDMBR to Frisco, CO. Then ride a trail over to Glenwood Springs and the train back to Cleveland. Of course training rides before that.
Nice! I loved the GAP and C&O. Would definitely do it again! If you haven't done it before I'd say don't miss the Falls outside DC and save time for Harpers Ferry.
Have driven to Cleveland from the metro Detroit area several times over the last month, and I concur, driving stinks. Rather be on the pedal bike. Fun, nicely filmed bike footage Tim, thanks.
Grey Vid! Definitely got Spring Fever too! Planning on doing the OTET in Reverse Thursday-Sunday next week from CLE to Cincy for the first time. Pretty pumped!
I really appreciate and enjoy your videos. They are great fun and inspiring. My wife and I are heading out on our first bikepacking adventure next week when we do the GAP and C&O ride over eight days. We're excited for the trip. Probably should have tried this before we were in our late 60s, but better late than never.
Thanks! Better late than never for sure! Have a blast! Two pieces of advice - don't miss Great Falls - short walk but totally worth it. Not far outside of DC. Who knew the Potomac was so beautiful!? Also, I loved Harpers Ferry - worth taking some time there too. Cheers!
Starting to do bike packing here in Minnesota and Wisconsin so have been accumulating gear. Will start adventures after spring (which is very busy for me) and will bike pack the Gandy Dancer trail in Wisconsin first.
Tim send some of your heat north of the Border it's green here but it's been wet and cold and I just don't like riding in that kind of weather anymore . Call me old but it is what it is keep up the good work young man stay safe and stay strong.
That is a bummer - it has been crazy warm here for late April/early May. Just did 40 miles in the upper 70s after uploading this vid! Hopefully it gets nicer for you soon! I don't dig the cold and we at all.
My upcoming trips are bikecamping from downtown Chicago to Indiana Dines NP, planning a family bikecamping overnight with the non-profit bike shop I volunteer at and riding across Wisconsin in August from LaCrosse to Milwaukee (235 miles in two days)
Thanks! I want to get back to Dayton eventually. Rode there right when Erin got into bikes. I think I have a vid from way back. Have a blast on the OTET!!! We Love it. Definitely going to do it again someday.
Here in Tucsonistan it's already changing to night rides. Way too hot during the day. Sunday was my last daytime ride (5:30am-9:30 am) before it turns into the land of scorch
O man, just know that some of us are jealous of you. And happy, too, that you are living the dream in the land of dirt and gravel events. And not yet retired but one of my goals is to do an annual road trip or two out west for some event participation and recall my youth on a Sting-Ray in California. And, okay, maybe win a trophy in the over-60 class, zing ding ding ding like a two-stroke and take the checkers back here to Pennsylvania. 😀
Similar weather situation here in Portland. Taking full advantage of it because it's supposed to be hotter than normal here this summer, which means more wildfire smoke.
I've actually been frustrated with the amount of rain we've had, it's made mountain biking almost impossible. The year's nearly half over and I think I've been on a handful or trials? 😠Definitely feels nice to have warmer weather though, I'm hoping to do Mohican and Jake's Rock at some point 🤞 Appreciate the video, great stuff as always! Hope to see you out there 👍
With the trails not freezing much this winter it definitely cut back on it then. But Spring has been less rainy by the numbers than usual. Hang in there - the good days are coming! Cheers!
Its a bummer it went that way - but its still a cool spot to sit and watch a sunset. It is kinda of strange really as it is still mostly there - just buried. It works as a retaining wall for the street above.
It has been wild. I actually chased a guy across downtown Akron and caught him after he rolled coal on me. He was shocked when I rolled in his lot, "I'll be back to key that truck bud". I won't - but might as well make him worry.
I am heading to GAP/C&O (Pitt to DC). My first time bikepacking in what I would call a dedicated trail setting vs mix of tarmac, gravel, trail. I've been toying with skipping my cook kit/meals and trying to just grab food available on trail. Thoughts?
Lots of small places are closed on Sundays or Mondays and some anti-bonk food must always be carried. I rode in Central, PA last summer and many small local places only accepted cash. I still had a great time would expect you will too.
We mostly did that but we did still bring a few meals and the kit because we were doing it over the Fourth of July. We had to cook our lunch that day. It is definitely doable but plan ahead and check hours. As Donald mentioned below always carry some snacks. We also aren't afraid to stop and check Google maps and break off the trail a few miles to eat somewhere good. So it depends on that kinda flexibility too. The C&O has longer stretches without as many places than the GAP does. I also have the advantage of splitting gear with Erin - she brings the cook kit and I bring the tent. So we always have it even if we don't need it(well, she always wants coffee first thing)
I expect to remain flexible on this trip. For once, no one bearing down on us over a timeline. I am mostly worried about my coffee addiction. I might have to try caffeine pills. Is it worth it to bring a chair when we will camp every night? I am currently in the phase of cutting back the things I was planning to take.@@TimFitzwater
0:59 hey man, how do you fixture your camera to do this shot? If you’re ever looking for content ideas, I’d love to learn how you do these shoots while riding
Wow again you preemptively answer some of my questions haha. I have not tried the mouth mount. I was worried that it would be awkward and uncomfortable. How long can you keep it in your mouth before it’s uncomfortable? I wish I could get a chest mount from which I could easily disconnect the camera to move it around by hand.
If you get the Pro Standard style you can hold it for a long time as you are using your molars not your front teeth. Granted - I never hold it there super long as no one wants to watch really long clips and I don't want to wade through a bunch of footage for my editing. DJi uses magnetic mounts and I believe there are knock offs for GoPros. But I don't see the slightly lower perspective unless you are doing gnarly mountain biking where you can't grab the camera anyways.
It never occurred to me until watching your videos, but I don't think one need be concerned about being pulled over for the DUI thing while on a bike. My Summer - High School Reunion. What have the decades done to my classmates?
They can if they want to! The cops have better things to do in our city though - adults on bikes are not a priority!! (we did have a close call with a park ranger though - she let us go with a warning) Cheers!
You missed a couple of rides?? I might need to find a better cycling influencer! lol And your intro was fun, tho' you might want to work with the gent behind the register, you know, the stage fright. 😀
You photography work is always great! I think your style of filming with the voice overs is really cool. You don't have to disrupt your group for the video so much as when you directly involve them. Love your content and the fact you do this on the side but still manage to interact with your ever growing audience is pretty amazing!
Thanks!
I watch your videos on a large tv screen as much as possible. Good quality and content as always. Cheers!
Thanks!
I watch on TV as well - which is probably part of why I like to upload in high quality.
Your bikes are awesome and so are your friends'. Have you thought about doing a stable run through and also a Dustin Klein-esque "Tell me about your bike," on your group rides? So many interesting parts I see in your vids!

I just watched that Rubber Bowl video yesterday, it was pretty interesting. I would have never have known about it, except for seeing it in your videos.
Kinda wild. To be honest if it had worked out we couldn't have been drinking beers and watching the sunset from up there. So.....
Before I get lost in the depths of this vid, the intro was super, Loved it, really drew me into the experience. Sometimes you have to take a risk.
Thanks! Totally coincidental it worked out that well but it makes me want to plan an intentional one.
Your videos are awesome! The footage is beautiful and I real enjoy the whole "stream of consciousness" vibe you got going on with the narration.
Thanks!
Very perceptive to pick up on that too. I literally sat down with my cat on my lap after cutting this together with the thought "talk about Spring?". There are only 4 cuts in the voice over....

Hit me up when you know when you will be rolling through.
I have been able to meet up with a few people rolling through on the OTET.
cool footage on the new camera!! excited to watch ya'll's summer trip vids in the near future!
Thanks!
Love the footage at 10:28 with the church silhouette against the golden sunset!
Not sure what the nervous laughter was about. Erin knows where it’s at. Maps! The answer is always maps! 😀
Maps!
Nice start to the summer! I’m off next week to check off a bucket list ride in Europe.
We have plans to fly out to Helena, MT, to ride the GDMBR to Frisco, CO. Then ride a trail over to Glenwood Springs and the train back to Cleveland. Of course training rides before that.
Awesome! That sounds rad!
C&O and GAP this August. Camping the C&O, BnB on the GAP, 7 days total so nothing strenuous. Just nature, bikes, and beer. Can't wait.
Nice! I loved the GAP and C&O. Would definitely do it again! If you haven't done it before I'd say don't miss the Falls outside DC and save time for Harpers Ferry.
Tim, Great spring video. Thank you. Keep us posted on Columbus and especially Pittsburg. Would love to join the PA then head off to the GAP and C&O.
Have driven to Cleveland from the metro Detroit area several times over the last month, and I concur, driving stinks. Rather be on the pedal bike. Fun, nicely filmed bike footage Tim, thanks.

I might make the Detroit drive a couple times this summer. Well, Ann Arbor but I would also stop in Detroit because I love it.
Grey Vid! Definitely got Spring Fever too!

To me that isn't reverse but the right way. 😎

The bike bridge looked interesting. Nice video. Stay safe and God bless
Four of us are doing our first bike pack in a few weeks. Greenbrier Trail in WV.
If that works, we’ll plan the GAP or something for later.
Nice - two of my friends just got back from that and their photos looked awesome. (I had too much work to go)
My upcoming trips are bikecamping from downtown Chicago to Indiana Dines NP, planning a family bikecamping overnight with the non-profit bike shop I volunteer at and riding across Wisconsin in August from LaCrosse to Milwaukee (235 miles in two days)
Also, loved the into! i would absolutly DVR that NBC bike shop show
Nice!
Another great video! I live in Dayton Ohio and I plan to ride the OTE from Cincinnati to Cleveland!
Thanks!
I want to get back to Dayton eventually. Rode there right when Erin got into bikes. I think I have a vid from way back.

Oh yeah - having a few friends out that way I understand that now. We are definitely the opposite.
46? Damn kids.
lol
I need to come ride with all of you soon!
Ot we will come there.
Planning to do my first Nutmeg, look forward to seeing you there.
Awesome! I have it marked on the Calendar!
Another great vid Tim.. 🇦🇺 🍻
Flying with my bikes out to Japan for a month! Otherwise ride all my usual trails and maybe do my first bikepacking trip?
7:39 running some 7000000c tires
Sadly in Phoenix it's getting hot already. I rode this morning at 5am and got home a sweaty mess.

We got a bunch of smoke here fro Canada last year, its becoming a wild world. I'm enjoying it for now too though.

Saw the Dead at the Rubber Bowl in 1986! Cool venue; show was below average as I recall.
Its a bummer it went that way - but its still a cool spot to sit and watch a sunset. It is kinda of strange really as it is still mostly there - just buried. It works as a retaining wall for the street above.
Agree on the traffic and road rager cagers. It's gotten worse up here in the Heights of Cleveland. Why cut me off and ace to the red light?
It has been wild. I actually chased a guy across downtown Akron and caught him after he rolled coal on me. He was shocked when I rolled in his lot, "I'll be back to key that truck bud". I won't - but might as well make him worry.
Tis the season to make bike fun!!😉👍💯
100%. 40 miles today in the high 70s after I recorded this voice over!!!
Columbus would be sick (I'm in the area for the summer). I would definitely make an effort to make it out if you had an event down here!
Awesome. Are you in the discord? Its a message board thing - its where we plan/post meet-ups. discord.gg/HVEaUsaD
@@TimFitzwater I was unaware, I will join. Thanks!
I like Critical Mass rides.
Another great video. I just subscribed
Thanks so much!
I hate saying that stuff but when I do ask the numbers do jump. 🤷🏻♂️
I hope that intro becomes a Dirty River commerical on Instagram or it's edited into a 90s sitcom intro.
I have to do another intentional take of it!

I think it’s pronounced “Jim Bull”
Let's see what Brad thinks.
Is that Dirty River Bike Shop in the opening ?
Cool vid

Great Lakes Seaway Trail (a dream ride) starts in Ohio. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Lakes_Seaway_Trail
Bike goal: Ride from my house to Natchez trace campsite (about 30 miles one way), stay for a few days, ride back with no cars or money involved.
Heck yeah!
