They captured the essence of street life in a horror type situation, it was live!!! Man, I watched this movie so many times when I was younger. Such a great movie.
After seeing this when we were kids my brother and I referred to every Indiana Jones movie as Chicago Jones Temple of Doom. To this day we still call Harrison Ford Chicago Jones, e.g., in Star Wars episode 7 Kylo Ren killed Chicago Jones.
This movie was made on a budget of less than $100K and it made $5.3 mil at the box office. The star/producer/writer/director, Robert Townsend financed the movie himself, much of it on credit cards. The film was a tongue in cheek jab at Hollywood studios that kept turning him down for roles he auditioned for because “he wasn’t Black enough”. Townsend made some real money on this film and then saw a good deal of success acting, writing, directing, producing, and especially stand up comedy after it. He was a walking middle finger to Hollywood.
I saw this movie when it first came out. This movie isn't "Bool-shit". And to this day I'm watching movies with my buddy and we look at each other and say "Bool-Shit". Roger Ebert praised Robert Townsend for this film as being a bright new-filmmaker. I agree from that critism. And me my Homie give dat shit two thumbs up with a hommie handshake handslap.
"He supposed to, he supposed to take the money; take the ho, take the ho (right, right) you know that; take the car and get the fuck outta there. I can't believe it. He would've been dead a long time ago.)
Keenan Ivory Wayans wrote this whole skit he supposed to have been in this scene but he was with a girlfriend playing around n Robert check him about not rehearsing n told Keenan he couldn't do this scene after this Keenan got serious
If you compare this to many today's comedies, there is some genuinely good writing acting here, not a bunch of post production stitching together excerpts from an hour of the actors "improvising".
What is the other actor comedians name ( not Robert Townsend, the other one)? I know his face but cant remember his name, and can not find a credit for him anywhere.
WDRowlett - They did not mean how many bullets "dirty Larry" had. They meant "dirty Larry" would have wound up with 50 bullets in his behind to make his day. And yes, they were exaggerating in that regard too.
35 years later, still funny AF😜😂😂😂😋
Townsend really hit a home run with this classic.
"I BELIEEEVE this movie. Like, you get all those pimps together...walking around an' shit....."
With big hats on....
He tried hard as hell not to take that step on the Dirty Larry scene. Lol!!!!
Gets me every time 😂😂😂
I'd like to see Attack of the Killer Pimps in It's entirety.
"Do 50 bullets in yo' @$$ make your day?!?!?" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I've always loved that line and the honkey, sucka, pig line.
"Whatchu gon' do about it?"
"Aye man I'mma bust yo ass!"
"Oh, OK. After the clip."
"Alright."
LMAOOOOOOOOOOO, greatness!
I remember this scene since I was a kid and I loved it since lol
“She was excellent, marvelous... effervescent!”
😂😂😂😂😂😂
I believe it! Lol
😂😂 Like polident.

first time me and a mate came across this after a "smoking session" we were in tears.
Definitely one of the most underrated Comedies, with truth, even to this day
After seeing this when we were kids my brother and I referred to every Indiana Jones movie as Chicago Jones Temple of Doom. To this day we still call Harrison Ford Chicago Jones, e.g., in Star Wars episode 7 Kylo Ren killed Chicago Jones.
I still call any Indiana Jones movie AFTER Raiders the "Temples of Doom" movies.
"BOOLSH*T, mane." One of the greatest comedy films of all time. Hilarious & relevent. And done on credit cards. That's serious commitment.
"whaaats your phooone number babeeeeeey"

Gotta love how Tyrone is reviewing a movie in which he appears
"Wherez My Bitches"!! Lol !!
T K Carter’s voice and style is the quintessential '80s' black cool. I could listen to him speak for hours.
You're right about that and I said the same thing. That's not TK Carter though that's Jimmy Woodard.
"Yeahhhhhh! acting all teh-i-fied and shit!' lol
Is it just me or did that dude's gun seem to get smaller and smaller LOL!!
"Yo man how much did it cost?" LOL...
One of the most underrated movies of all time and funniest

@@CaesarCapone My favorite part! So realistic. Embarrassment+ having no good come back = "Hey man! F* you!!!"
Best part of the movie.
This and the scene with Keenan as Jheri Curl were my favorites! I'd totally see Attack of the Street Pimps if it were a real movie lol
This and the black acting school were my fav scenes.
Because Keenan wrote both skits
Attack of the Killer Street Pimps, Excellent.
With most movies coming out tiday, I give them all THE FINGER!
Always thought that the pimp with the arm behind his head was creepy when I was a kid.
That pimp was played by Bird and the Midnight Falcons on the Five Heartbeats movie.
I always get a kick of watching the pimp that is always shaking.
@@Supastackmanyup
DIRTY LARRY. shooting was unjustified... He technically didn't take a step forward 🤣.. he was balancing
"We want a helicopter! We want a helicopter!" . . . . funniest lines in the movie 😆😆😆😆😆
Much respect to Townsend and Co. - so brilliant and were way ahead of their time!
2:25 to 3:16 and the Dirty Larry shit was funny.

"He supposed to, he supposed to take the money; take the ho, take the ho (right, right) you know that; take the car and get the fuck outta there. I can't believe it. He would've been dead a long time ago.)

@latoniakimmons - give me some time and I will post that.
7:08, 7:45!
Fifty bullets? I thought "Dirty Larry" only had 6. Whatever. It is what it is.
WDRowlett - They did not mean how many bullets "dirty Larry" had. They meant "dirty Larry" would have wound up with 50 bullets in his behind to make his day. And yes, they were exaggerating in that regard too.
@@Truthguy That dude clearly trolling, and have a low IQ.
I nominate George Zimmerman to play "Dirty Larry".
You couldn't find nothing else so you come to watch Black movies clips smdh obsession is real.
