not gonna lie i was extremely impressed by how professional you are adding solder mask to the wire. its really the little things that separate you from the rest
A nice repair. I was wondering for a while if the board was going to work because of its other issues. For certain boards I'm wondering if it would be helpful to have a picture of a "known good" board for reference purposes. That way you could refer to the picture if you suspect that a component is missing on a board that you are working on. Thanks for the video.

I laugh with voice. My girlfriend asked me what's going on and why I am laughing so loud :D I am a newbie in microsoldering but when I saw this "all in one" solution it was really funny :D
lol, I am very proud of you for not going on a raging rant about the single solder joint. The silent smirk made me laugh. You were very professional. Two thumbs up. Thanks for the video. I am having issues with new solder equipment. I get similar results as what came into your shop. I am new at micro soldering as a hobby and am practicing on scrap boards. You make it look so easy when you get solder on the tip of iron and roll the glob over the pads. You mentioned when the tip is bad, the solder won't stick to the tip and runs away from the tip. I thought it was because the iron was too hot. I have barely used any of these tips and now wondering if I ruined them by getting them too hot... I am going to keep practicing.
That's what happened to me when i first started soldering, i used a cheap flux with a big conical tip soldering iron and the result was always a bridge like this one :) So a good flux and the right tip size play a big difference when doing micro soldering
Nice work. I find that using too much flux on these though is problematic as the residue often seeps back into the inside of the port causing the hdmi signal to not be recognized again. Cleaning it with alcohol just dilutes it and make sit seep into the port faster. I use less flux now and wipe what's left off with a dry q-tip. Works well!
He need practice I agree. And yes, you are missing some components on the other side. You are missing a capacitor near the diode. I can desolder one and give you the correct value if you need that. Great wok as usual. Keep up the good work!
@@raidone7413 Truuuue... But common sense would be realizing they don't know what they're doing. Or just look at the ports or something with pins around that one to see what they're supposed to look like. Realistically we'll never know why, I thought it was funny. I still sighed deeply though but still funny.
Good colleague, I came to the workshop with a similar problem, but with all the tracks skipped. I could make a schematic to know where to solder each pin. Thank you in advance.
Hha haa job is done and its work When he completes work and laughs as he its get stisfied by his work. I dnt have such technician near me. Love feom kerala india 🥰🥰
Although my soldering skills are better then the person who attempted to repair that board initially, I myself have totally ruined a PS4 board doing a bad HDMI repair. Unfortunately I wasn't aware of "low melt" solder and watched other TH-camr repairers (guessing also not aware of low melt solder?) putting the board in an oven for a brief amount of time to heat the board up. Also confusing messages from other repairers saying that "heat" destroys boards so low heat and build up the temperature... Well - on the 3rd attempt of trying to align the HDMI connecter and basically getting it right on that attempt - unfortunately the pads started to lift and many got destroyed. Its currently sat under my desk waiting for me to either throw the PS4 away, or build up courage to try again and attempt to fix the missing traces. I have also messed up an XBox One HDMI re-timer chip which I tried to repair around the same time so many of the same bad techniques were used. Never had experience with a QFN chip before and it threw me a curve ball... trying to align that up again on a heat sulking ground plate board was a nightmare. Again, oven came into use - but proved useless. Many tracks for the re-timer chip lifted. I've learnt my lesson - no oven, and low melt solder, & high heat (short amount of time).
What the hell???? Whats going on here? They way you look😂😂 Its really funny what you get at the shop. And i bet you see much more crazy things everyday. I bet this person used a leadfree solder. But you fixed it perfectly👍
As ur Tutorial on recovery using Donor Harddisk ...removing Bios Chip nd swap the Bios that was work for me.in that Harddisk so much precious Data. Thanks for tutorial Coz only ur tutorial was Perfectly nd very cleanly Shows that What to do if we have Same Donor Harddisk. Thanks #NorthridgeFix
Is there a specific reason you're not using a desoldering tool (like Hakko FR 300) but solder wick instead? In understand that there're situations where a desoldering tool wouldn't work but in this case here it should work!?
Even though i'm not good with soldering, i'm most certainly way better at soldering than that person that did that sweet blob making multiple pins into one. Wow :D
0:15 i literally passed by 1mm to choke myself with my bacon while seein that and your face ahahahaahahahahahahahahahah remind me old time when dishnetwork Countermesured pirates , then somebody come at home because he was triin to install a digital tsop lock with 7X 16Ga electrical wire
Question for you, I bought a iPhone XS Max from a friends for $40 that had the back glass and front screen broken. I repaired it to give me something new to do but I tested the camera and it looks foggy. I tried cleaning it and blowing compressed air into camera lens and cleaning the glass lens as well. Any advise?
CAUTION........There are small components on the motherboard near where the hdmi socket is mounted, particularly on the underside....These can be loosed, fall off or became damaged by hot air, when removing or replacing the socket..☹ Best cover all the relevant components in that area with Alfoil or some form of heat shielding.😀.
What solder wick do you use an what tip?... I have many come to me like this but always have hard time wicking off access solder.. what’s the best combination? Do I add low melt and add a bigger hotter tip with the wick or does that face pulling pads ?. Thanks
Am I using the wrong rosin? I have my iron set to 860 and I have never had solder wick away that easy. If it wicked that easy, I'd be so much better at *one more thing*. I'm really new to this, I might have crappy equipment.
Your face when you saw the board was just the funniest....fingers tapping on the desk...brilliant.
it couldn't be different don't you think? 😄
Yep, I agree 😁
I think the one who repaired that is from a welder shop. 🤣🤣
😂😂😂You may say that again. The advice was we need must practice on dead motherboards but I think are not good students
me too
lol 🤣🤣🤣
Lol
Pin one is solid, pin two is solid, all pins are solid. I see no problems... 🤔😜
😂😂😂
😀😀Ya all pins solid
Actually, only *one* pin is solid
The jumper wire looked decent too.....
Everything is good
7:44 Big boss backing off after turning the console on 😂
😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha
Ok this has to be a meme, the customer was skilled enough to install a jumper wire so they definitely know how a port should be soldered on 🤣
I'm pretty sure these were the remains of the torn trace.
Maybe they didn't have a hot enough soldering station 😂
not gonna lie i was extremely impressed by how professional you are adding solder mask to the wire. its really the little things that separate you from the rest
it's not solder mask it's just uv glue to prevent it from moving and breaking or shorting something else
Not the first time I've seen this type of repair attempt, but man, I love your reaction and look of amusement into thr camera 😆. Well done!
The person who tried to fix this, don't quit your day job.
Quit your day job. Try harder.
This was his day job, no one said he was any good at it!
Hope he was watching
Maybe dont pick something so intricate as your first solder attempt. Keep practicing.

The prior fix looks like they did a really good job!
The look on your face while you were thinking of something nice to say... Good job!
"You need practice"
Man you are so gentle, I would have become Gordon Ramsay right there

I like your facial expression the moment you see how the hdmi pins soldered into the board (with tapping on the table )😁😁
“HDMI installed correctly”. Sure pretty solid😄😄
Nice work. I find that using too much flux on these though is problematic as the residue often seeps back into the inside of the port causing the hdmi signal to not be recognized again. 0:15 Your face had me dying 🤣
DUDE THIS WAS VERY FUNNY , You really get some crazy repairs there xD
Keep up the good work!
He said: He need practice
I said: He need common sense
Common sense is a punishment because you have to deal with those who don't have it 🙃
It's not common sense. Most people never learn to solder
@@raidone7413 Truuuue... But common sense would be realizing they don't know what they're doing. I love the “check this work out” look at the beginning. That was funny!
I'm a novice but that looked like a good job, good solid connection.
The "wire" seemed to be the actual track who was lifted clean off the board :D
I never get bored of your videos 👍🏼
You are so good in your business. I wished to be a part of it.
that is not soldering that is called Welding normally seen on steel structures : )😁😁
I like your work. Even though I live in Bangladesh, I think once I go to your shop and meet you, go ahead.love you bro
Great work man...looking foward to see more
It looks like the customer has used a 1 inch wide tip on his port.
Haha!
Good colleague, I came to the workshop with a similar problem, but with all the tracks skipped. I could make a schematic to know where to solder each pin. Thank you in advance.

Great job. How long did the repair take?
Hha haa job is done and its work
When he completes work and laughs as he its get stisfied by his work. I dnt have such technician near me.
Love feom kerala india 🥰🥰
This dude welded the HDMI port omg
Nope. Welding is an entirely different process. It was just horrible soldering..

your face is priceless when you seen that solder job/massacre
"you need practice" Just lost my shit!
You are really perfectly successful at this works. Thanks for sharing. İ'm learning many things in this kind of videos. Wish 2 c u soon. Good luck.
Alex's face at 0:16... so golden... I guess this person went to welding school instead :)
I do enjoy watching your video's. Brightens up the day.
This mans soldering station is A1
That look on your face when you see that they welded the hdmi on the board. 😂At least it won't go anywhere right 😂😂😂😂
I'm following you from Iraq and I try to learn from you i like your work it's cool and clean
Soldering skill over 100+
I thought he is really looking at me and smiling lol😂😂😂
I saw this thumbnail and fell out of my chair 😂🤣
You're the Picasso of electronic repair.
The person apparently thought solder was like glue...just stick it and the contacts will work.
What's the mic? I really like it! NICE VIDEO
Amazing soldering skills!! Great videos
Nice work brother ❤️
Can you tell how u studied repairing and from where
What the hell???? Whats going on here? They way you look😂😂 Its really funny what you get at the shop. And i bet you see much more crazy things everyday. I bet this person used a leadfree solder. But you fixed it perfectly👍
On the one hand I'm like... "good for you to have a go at fixing something yourself" but on the other hand I'm like "Oh jeez, what a cluster f#ck"...
Those facial expressions at 0:15 made me laugh 😂

Loved your face upon the reveal. lol....
I'm surprised it worked afterwards with the bottom side looking like components were missing.
I watch your vids always. You inspire me 🙂
Wow you always get the easy ones I be getting boards ripped in half and I missing all the pads
I watch all your videos... What abu the missing components..?
Your smile when you see this solder bloob :D
Awesome work !!! neat, clean and perfect
Hi thanks for all vedio you ar the best, could you please tel me what modele of flux you use
I'm always love it everything that you'r done sir, thank you for knowledge and entertaining
ARGH!! People, PLEASE! If you don't know what you are doing........ DON'T MESS WITH IT!!! Find a pro like Alex....
The Customer build one wire connection 🤣🤣
Whoever soldered that must be a welder by trade :D
Hi boss lots of love from Windsor Ontario
What type and size wire are you using for your jumper wires? Are they insulated or just plain copper?
Please! What type of camera are you using to watch the work?
How long should we shine uv light toward that uv mask? Tq 😍🙏🏻
A cuánta temperatura pones el cautín cuando usas la maya desoldadora
What solder mask do you use? I'd buy it from you guys if your website sold it!
Could you explain about what you are doing at 4:12 at with what substance and light?
How about the missing components you mentionned..?
hahahah I almost lost it when you showed all the pins together.
All the pins are making good connection
Could you please tell me, what are the liquids that you used?
Actually i am going to do the same job. I have soldering grease and soldering tin.
Is there a specific reason you're not using a desoldering tool (like Hakko FR 300) but solder wick instead? In understand that there're situations where a desoldering tool wouldn't work but in this case here it should work!?
This isn't what you could call gone wrong , it's called gone south.
Even though i'm not good with soldering, i'm most certainly way better at soldering than that person that did that sweet blob making multiple pins into one. Wow :D
How about the lost components? Did u replace them?

Assalamualaikum brother. What type of microscope light do you use to get rid of the glare ??
back in school i was told, always put enough salt and pepper or your food is crap. works with almost everything :)
Without replacing missing componants how board works??
Anakin: No bridged connector jokes - he's doing the best he can.
Obi-Wan: Did I say anything?
Anakin: *He's trying!*
Obi-Wan: I didn't say anything! 😂
Love from india lovely and clean work
The practice is necessary when soldering or do not do it
What about missing components..?
maybe those were capacitors
Sir your microscope specifications please
