  • We’ve done a lot of work since our first video looking inside. Check out our progress on the Brooks Mine! Created in 1902, it was made as an exhibition mine, but had been abandoned since 1975.

    As a kid I bet I was in the mine hundreds of times. The mannequins were super spooky! Thank you for restoring this treasure. Can you share with viewers a bit more about yourselves and how you have become so knowledgeable in mine restoration? Thank you.

    Props should be stood the same pitch as the seam so if the seam is going to the dip the props would be put at the same angle

    Nice work and looks fun. I wish I kinda want to do this too. I was a Surface Miner at Bernice Stone and Coal. I'd try under ground mining. Thanks for sharing.

    The dirt that accumulated in the tunnel(s) is likely from the place flooding quite often.
    I can remember checking out the entrance back in the 90's before they made it so you couldn't see inside and it had water in it quite frequently.

    • @cessna54tango
      @cessna54tango ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, it was pretty wet in late april in there. it dissipates real fast though. going to have to address that for the future. all rain water just kinda flows in there. however, only some of the dirt is from that. there was whole pile of pea gravel put down in there at some point raising the "floor" up about 18 inches. we are going to dig this back down again.

      @@cessna54tango Was there ever anything built on top of the mine as part of it? Because I seem to recall some sort of ruin in the woods above the mine.

    • @cessna54tango
      @cessna54tango ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CheapestGamer not that I am aware of, and there is nothing inside that would indicate it. I believed it was always a field and woods.

      @@cessna54tango Maybe it's something leftover from Luna Park, though I think most of the ruins from there are under 81.
      I definitely remember what looked like part of a wall in that vicinity.

    Hopefully you sell those black UGM shirts on your site. I'll be heading over there now to see if you have any 3X. Great Videos. Edit: No T-Shirts.
