In 1992 I came from Germany to visit the Schuylkill anthracite area and was quite impressed by the still large number of tiny pits which were often family owned and operated. One of the owners even spontaneously offered an underground tour. I gladly accepted his invitation. It was really impressive. I must have been very close to B&M tunnel but must have missed it somehow.
