Brilliant Steve really good update we love it paceville to tower road torri point past the diplomat up to the preluna where you got held up they have built a new Starbucks and can't believe they have the hotel after the point tunnell nearly up have they started on the new marina and hotel on manoel island all the best classic trucker 😎

Great video, Steve, felt I was a passenger in your car, lots of changes since I lived there, 5 years ago, good progress in parts with new roads roundabouts and tunnels, all good, though Sliema looks very busy now.

I really enjoyed the trip Steve. I used to visit Malta with my wife (from 1988 to 1998).We always stayed in Sliema, and we loved it. Tony's cafe on the Strand, for a morning coffee and a chat.

I stayed in Santa Venera as my daughter lives there right next to the Church , it was lovely sitting on one of the terraces listening to choir practise very soothing

That was an excellent video. I really enjoyed the tour from Santa Venra to Manuel Island. I really miss Malta and cant wait to get back on holiday again when it safe to do so. Its a great idea to drive around Malta in your car. I would like to thank you for putting this video together and taking the time to do these for our enjoyment. I have watched this before but didn't have time to comment so this time I have watched it all and I don't know if I would like to live in Sliema again, it's so crowded. Great for a holiday I suppose, to relive some memories of endless parties and dancing, swimming and cinema, as we did in our teens. And dancing at The Chalet before it closed in 1959. The last time we lived there was in St Julian's and now that is like sardines too, we had a view down a valley of farm land that is now all housing. Everywhere changes. Thanks Steve, I enjoy the driving videos.

I went to mass in that church Steve ,we stayed in balluta a bay at the top of the hill is an awesome tiny little jazz bar ,I can’t remember it’s name I pray it has survived this damn lockdown rubbish , it was so good and allways packed out very friendly staff and locals

Hi Steve, I have been watching your videos for over a year and just never took the time to subscribe. I realised yesterday what a great job you're doing, especially during the pandemic. I hate the winter months and I'm sure like many others I suffer from SAD. Some people buy special lamps that help but I've discovered something better, you're brilliant videos. I actually think I'm in Malta. The blue skies, the sea, the shiny limestone buildings, absolutely beautiful and so theraputic. Add in your patter and I even get a good laugh. My wife and I love Malta and have been over regularly for the past 6 years I hope things get back to normal soon so I can get over, it will make a change from freezing here in Scotland. Thanks for making it bearable during this winter lockdown.

I loved this road runner video Steve! We pretty much always hire a car when in Malta although I usually leave the driving to my husband 😂 It was lovely to see St Julian’s and Sliema 😍 St Julian’s was the first area I ever stayed in Malta. The Carmelite Church in Balluta Bay is beautiful, I will have to dig out some photos of it inside. It’s spectacular. The sort of church I dreamed of getting married in when I was a little girl. We have stayed a few times at Le Meridien in Balluta Bay (now the Marriott) where we used to wake up to the sound of the sea and the church bells - bliss!! I was sad to see that it looks like Cara’s cafe on the Sliema promenade is now a Costa Coffee shop 😭 Thank you for taking us along for the ride with you. It’s crazy how quickly things change in Malta in just 1 year!

Yes it was the Golden 7,all the taxi drivers, police and tourists, like me and the wife, used to call by for a bite to eat on the way back to your hotel. Functional food, I called it.
In the 70s the wimpy was in valletta and sliema front this was a private one ...Thanks francis
Love this video 😍 Brought back memories of my first trip to Malta in 1992, I was staying in St Julian's and used to walk thos route to Sliema every day 😍 When I was over last year I saw the Mercury Towers building up close when I went to the Val you supermarket...it's err...different! 😮 You captured a good example of the Maltese driving you mentioned...the moped that overtook you when you stopped at the crossing 😱 p.s love the music at the beginning 😉

Hi Steve, thanks a lot for this ride this morning, it's just the tonic I needed to wake up to, all that was just where I spend a lot of my time when I'm in Malta as well as Valletta, Msida and Hamrun as some of my family lives there, so apart from passing all through there by cars & busses I also walked all of it many times, as it happen my last year's booking was at the Preluna but we didn't make it, this pandemic got a lot to answer for, as for the driving I know exactly what you mean, I always carry toilet paper when I'm a front seat passenger in any car ; bye bye 4 now see you tomorrow, Maltese man in Bournemouth, heheheeeee.

Nice drive Steve, really enjoyed that trip. You should do some more of these. The first few times I was a passenger in taxis in Malta were real white-knuckle rides but got used to it all over the years. I'm quite blase about it all now, often to the taxi drivers disappointment.

Hi from San Francisco. I like progress and infrastructure. But it looks like the small country feeling of Malta is gone. The new roads and buildings I guess are necessary. I see a lot of the old builds are being replaced by condos and retail business. But you still got the beautiful Mediterranean Sea surrounding the island which makes it ok, I guess. Viva Malta.🇲🇹🌞😎
Yes, you are right in some way ...But we really needed a upgrade ..There is still that feeling in the villages ...but life is changing all over ...progress !!

Hi Steve. It was interesting to see how the Fortina spa is coming on and the new ferry terminal. I have done the trip from Bugibba to Sliema on the 212 many times. Last in October 2019. Gan canny lad an nee dunchin.

Hi Steve, I never got the urge to drive in Malta. I found that the buses took me everywhere, I enjoyed the trips and got to sight see a lot better. I noticed in this video when you drove through the first tunnel at 2.53 two cars passed you and changed lanes crossing a solid white line !!! in most countries I have driven in a solid unbroken line means Do Not Cross :) "Only in Malta" :) cheers many thumbs up

Very interesting video. I left Malta after 5 years there in 1998. Last visited in 2015. It’s about time they did something about that old roundabout on the regional road at the (what I call ) San Gawn turn off. It took me over an hour on a Sunday afternoon in 2015 to get from Blatt I’ll-Bajda to Msida. I so miss Malta and enjoyed living there much more than I do living here in Australia.

This is the problem most car loving countries suffer from, I noticed the new marsa junction as made life a lot better , But now people are taking advantage of the new roads ,,The roads leading into it are always blocked

Bongu Steve, Loved this roadrunner video, brought back lots of happy memories of walking along Sliema seafront. We stayed there one year in a little hotel on the front called the Carlton, had a great view out of our room window... unfortunately we didn't have a balcony as we were holidaying on a budget. Nice little hotel though, cheap and cheerful. Thanks for sharing 👍❤ 🇲🇹

Hi Steve I just watched spaghettini junktion 4 the freeway is like here in Melbourne but smaller.I felt I was driving,I think if I am younger I will love to drive in Malta like you.Thanks for the ride.just be careful .keep safe.we are in lockdown again,because of 2delivery man from sydney they knew they had the virus and because of them the whole country are in lockdown .continue showing us our country before we come if we ever anymore.

Another success Steve...............I`ve driven in several different countries around the world , but I`d never contemplate driving in Malta , same rules of the road as in the UK , but totally ignored by the Maltese , which reminds me of the old expression , " We are Maltese and we do as we please ".
Not really ..Same rules and many take care ...but its mediterranean type driving and little aggressive, But you get nowhere sticking to the rules 100 % and not pushy

What a beautiful day there. So many familiar things on your drive. Almost like being there. We have some old photos of my very late grandfather outside what was many years ago his garage at 177 the Strand in Sliema. Probably a takeaway now. Wish the headline news was" COVID FINISHED"👍♥️

Very impressed by the time it took you to get to where you had to stop in traffic after Preluna Hotel.That journey has taken me nearly an hour at times. Was the bus lane on the Strand not in use?

We don't do lockdowns here. Vulnerable people are staying inside and getting the vaccine. Everyone else is continuing with their lives.
