hello i loved the video of the santa venera palace my late great grandfather used to own all the land behind the arches unfortunetly he gave it all to the church thinking he would go to heaven when he died. I cant emagine what its worth is now.

Lovely, this walk brought back many memories for me. My parents house, where I was born, was on this very street at number 455 Tosca house. I was baptised, confirmed and received first Holy Communion in the Santa Venera church (the old church) in fact one of my given names on my birth certificate is.....Venera (although that’s a girls name!) the church where we went to mass was the one you passed by, St Joseph’s and this was “attached to the orphanage San Guzepp and my playmates in those days were all the boys from this orphanage. I was in Malta with my brother in 2019, he was born in the same house as well, so we know this area very well and we walked around that garden on the way to visit the church of Santa Venera.

In the early 1700s the orange fruit was considered as a delicacy in Europe. In fact oranges used to be sent by the Grange Master to King Louis XIV (the Sun King) of France as a special gift. Oranges from Villa Romeo Romano were amongst the first to be exported to France and to this day the Blood Orange is known in France as 'l Maltese'.

Thank you so much Steve. Another lovely walk around with plenty to see along the way. Please give it a lot of thought though to what more you could take on to improve. As far as I am concerned you should carry on the way you are. The changing of the seasons also change the views and if you try to do too much it will leave you with no time for yourself. Of course that is just my opinion, you know your own limits. Take care and stay safe.
