Stock MR2 superchargers are clutch ger driven. They do it to improve fuel economy while cruising mostly.
That's why the MR2s have that "Charger" light, it tells you when the clutch is engaged.
A common mod is to wire in a switch that allows you to manually turn on the charger to be always on, or switch back to stock opperation.

sounds tough, I built a twincharge Alfa which is on the tube under alfa twincharge. Not as much hp as yours, mines tuned to as much as the rear end can take...!

haha all correct terms. and from the looks of things your a fan. and im a fan. thats all that matters im rebuilding a Large-Port blue Lettering MR-2 4A-GE with T25 Turbo hoping for 15-20 psi and 220-250 hp :D

There are some clips in this video when it only had a turbo in.Pistons are off the shelf 4AGZE thingys with Crower rods.
What fuel systems ecu are you using?

i get it. your vacuum boost gauge was referenced on the turbo side of the throttle body. that just made no sense to me for like a whole minute. then i got it, go me.
A supercharger and a turbocharger are fitted, hence the Z and T letters in the engine code. A 4A-GZTE doesn't really exist, but it seems that this dude created one.
Is that the HKS twin charge kit? How's the reliability? I was thinking of getting one for the aw11 but people warned me against it.
how does it fitted with twin turbo?
is it one large and one small turbo to the same inlet like Y separator?
Have you tried Toda? Toda - Racing Japan. They do forged internals amongst other things for 4age engines, and I think they have specific stuff for 4agze.
are you running the sc and turbo in parallel or series?
rotrex feeding the holset? or both feeding individually into a common intake?
sick setup. I would love to go twin-charged 4a-ge, but it would be a lot cheaper just to go with a 3s-gte. My MR2 has a built 4a-ge 16v right now.

I thought a Procharger was a brand of centrifigal supercharger, the types which look kind of like turbos but are still belt driven(Prochargers, Vortechs, etc.).....all the books I've read call it "Compound Forced Induction" when running both a supercharger and a turbocharger at the same time, with the idea being that you get the throttle response and lower end torque of the supercharging combined with the top end power of spooled turbocharger......must be incredible to drive this beast!!!!

This car is an ae86 Levin. It comes RWD. You're probably mistaking this car for later model Corollas somehow. This was made between 83-87 every else in the world except the US alongside the Trueno. Here in the states we got the Corolla gts/sr5 84-87. Same chasis design, but different front end among other things (tail lights, side markers, etc.)
check your tempeture gauge ...slowly going up...otherwise....

im guessing it actually makes like 450hp or around there. 4age is awesome engine, no doubt about it. nothing like a reliable fast engine!

@Adovansu anything with an E in the chasis code is a corolla it is more of a sub type for the car
there are MANY ways. you can bored and sleeve the cylinders, with high strength steels and such. its really common

I'll be quite frank...I want to hook my corolla up, but I just don't know enough about building a car, and how to find compatible parts for my car in order to make it have more hp, torque etc...plus, approximately how much would upgrading a car to be at LEAST 400hp/400lbs torque be???

I was taught when I was 16 when you start your car cold the oil hasn't heated to the proper operating temperature up yet DO NOT hit high rpm's! That will wear any motor down. It doesn't matter if you're driving it, or it's in neutral. That's where that misconception about rev's with no load may have come from as I've heard it quit a bit while reving people's engines's diagnosing problems.

yes indeed the 20V is pretty much strictly NA unless you have a bit of money to pay for fabrication OR you can actually do the work yourself with custom fabrication. but pretty much the engine wasnt designed for boost you would need LOW Comp pistons, and ecu there goes your high revs, somehow reinforce the block there also goes more revs i think it would rev to 7000 tops from the research ive done

@fstylezkrNNN I don't actually know how they are called, since I don't know shit about turbo 4AGE engines. ( I just know that bigports are better for turbo applications, along with 4AGZE block, and maybe some internals, regarding of the desired boost)
