My mother ruined me for beets, as a child she would make what us kids called Purple Salad. It was made with diced beets, canned peas, onion and then it was mixed together with Miracle Whip which is what made the salad turn purple. In those days we had to eat everything. Interestingly enough when I was a cook at a senior center, I made this salad and they loved it!😂 😂
My father was from Lithuania. I grew up eating BEETS! We ate them every week, Hot, sautéed in sweet onion and butter! ( lemon juice to keep the color) We also eat a Cold soup that makes a great Salad as well. Fresh peeled beets boiled for the soup broth, Chill the broth. Grate the beets, seed and chop an English cucumber (skin on ) Spring Onion, Dry Dill, ( don’t use fresh it floats around too much) The KEY is a good buttermilk or Sour Cream. Some grated hard boiled egg … not everyone likes . Have fun with it. Beets are so underrated. Look up Lithuanian Beet Soup. I’m sure you’ll love it. I love your recipes and your ideas on entertaining . GO BEETS! 🥰

What a lovely meal, and the card is a delightful gift. That's a nice variation of lemon curd. I still use the recipe my Gran brought out from England over 100 years ago; she got the recipe from her gran, it still calls for the real lumps of sugar from a sugar loaf. My gran used sugar cubes to stay close.

I just want to thank you for your delicious video. I think I recognize the gloves you use to keep you from burning your hands : I use them to prevent myself from cutting my fingers... I hadn't thought of this idea ! And I would like to add that you can easily make your own panko. I recently learnt that. Just take stale or frozen white bread. Remove the crust and cut into big cubes. Put into your foodprocessor and then deposit them on a thin layer in your oven for 15 minutes at 100°C. And that's it !

My gran used sugar cubes to stay close.

I just want to thank you for your delicious video. I think I recognize the gloves you use to keep you from burning your hands : I use them to prevent myself from cutting my fingers... I hadn't thought of this idea !
And I would like to add that you can easily make your own panko. I recently learnt that. Just take stale or frozen white bread. Remove the crust and cut into big cubes. Put into your foodprocessor and then deposit them on a thin layer in your oven for 15 minutes at 100°C. And that's it !
The whole meal looked absolutely scrumptious!
