Absolutely great video! This video was to the point, showed gameplay, explained the game well, was interesting and entertaining, and most importantly, no spoilers! 13/5, will watch more videos!
Nice. We've played LOTR Risk but not any of the others. You definitely can't go wrong with Risk Legacy. There are also many other Legacy board games out there now, like Pandemic Legacy, and Betrayal Legacy. All are amazing.
Yep. Legacy games are definitely something you want to play with a regular group of friends. I highly recommend trying out some new Legacy games if you haven't. They've only gotten better!
I've liked SRPGs for a few years now, and as someone who really enjoys the perma-death mechanics of Fire Emblem, this specific version of RISK sounds metal as hell. Never played RISK though so thanks for the review!
This is probably one of the best versions of risk. I wouldn’t say there’s perma death but the decisions you make in the game will have a permanent affect on all future games. If you’d like perma death in a board game then I highly recommend Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 and Season 2 or Betrayal Legacy. Those are also amazing games where the characters can die.
@@FailroadExpress Sounds cool! I'll probably just go for vanilla RISK first since this one has such high stakes, but I'm definitely gonna check out this one and Pandemic at some point
Thank you for the video! I'm already in the midst of a round but your video still added something, it's really well done and helps especially after not having played for months and needing to get back into it. Risk Legacy is beyond amazing! Are there any other games like it, strategy based board games with a clear ruleset but one where decisions alter future games?
Absolutely. Glad you liked the video. Risk Legacy was the first “legacy” game ever created. Since then, new legacy games have been coming out every year. Pandemic, Machi Koro, Betrayal, ultimate werewolf and several other games have Legacy versions. Though I’m not sure if they’re exactly what you’re looking for. Trying looking up top 10 legacy board games or top 10 strategy games to get an idea of what to get next.
If you haven’t touched it yet pandemic legacy season 0 is awesome I’m playing through it now with friends and we’re only a little ways through and stuff is crazy
I've played season 1 and am playing through season 2 by myself. We've still got to get through our game of Betrayal Legacy we started before the real pandemic struck, haha. But I have heard the season 0 is the best one. Perhaps one day. Thanks for the comment!
The stickers are permanent. So once they're used, you can't use them again or reset the game. Once the Scenario is over you can simply play the game as is.
The great thing is, you can switch which faction you use each time you play! Try the Imps out in game one and if you don't like them switch to the Mechs. It's all decided at the beginning of the game.
Actually, just like any version of Risk, this one can be played as many times as you want. There are only 15 lines on the board for winners to write their signature but there's nothing stopping you from adding more lines and just filling the whole board with names. Each game you play changes the board a little bit and each sealed envelope you open changes the game a lot!
***** I see what you're saying but even the rule book says you can play more than 15 games on the same board. It also says that after the 15th game the board can no longer be changed, however, I see no problem with discarding that one rule.
***** The 15 games BUILD your unique version of the game. It can be played as many times as you like after that. Of course, most of the fun comes from the spoilers and building process. After that, it's just a deluxe version of Risk.
The surprise of "what more will be available" is just once but new stuff is added so you could play again (only now you know the build up/way ahead). I guess also one could make scvenarios for tha later stages with all the stuff avaible as one offs (or earler for an easier and shoter game).
Not as much as we'd like to. Some of us have completed the legacy campaigns on our boards. And having to review other games gives us less time to play our old favorites.
Be afraid! Get Betrayal Legacy instead! It's an amazing Legacy game that fixes all the flaws from Risk Legacy. Never the less, if you enjoy Risk, you will Love Risk Legacy.
Just ordered this for 17.99 and super excited to play this with my brother when it comes

Thank you! I hope you enjoy our other videos. Our format has changed over the years so I hope you like them as well.
Correction: You start with one star coin if you've never signed the board and won a game. It's a way to balance against missiles.
+Carson Roye Indeed. We could have worded that better.
Great video....my friends and I are risk fanatics. Aside from the original we also enjoy LOTR Risk, Warhammer 40k risk and Risk 2210

Great video, not overly long, but long enough to help me make a decision on buying this, Thank you from 2019.
Glad you enjoyed it. If you get the game it will be a great experience. Just be warned, people can get really heated when playing this one.
I really missed thie game. Loved playing it with my regular Monday gaming group!

Pick the black squares up there is a card packet behind the game.
And a dangerous packet it is.
I wish this was digital
I've bought 7 boards cause this is so much fun
That’s the spirit!
not gonna lie sean looks like gabe newell 2
also great video
Thanks for the review. I just purchased it.
Awesome! Hope you enjoy it.
Why does this look like a one time use with all the stickers
The stickers are permanent. So once they're used, you can't use them again or reset the game. Once the Scenario is over you can simply play the game as is.
Awesome review, you have a new sub right here! :)
This has made my mind on getting this game, I'm debating if I should play as Imperials or if I should play as the Mechs.
The great thing is, you can switch which faction you use each time you play! Try the Imps out in game one and if you don't like them switch to the Mechs. It's all decided at the beginning of the game.
The replay value should be a 0/10. Seeing that you can only play it once.

FailroadExpress Actually, There is only one campaign, and it lasts for fifteen games. After the campaign is over you need a new game.

great review!
do y'all. still play this game

Weird that Greenland is part of north america since it belongs to Denmark… Should be part of Scandinavia. 😂
The beginning part already made me scared of Legacy
Btw, once you play a game with ANYONE, that board is dedicated to that group
Be afraid! Get Betrayal Legacy instead! It's an amazing Legacy game that fixes all the flaws from Risk Legacy. Never the less, if you enjoy Risk, you will Love Risk Legacy.
Good, now kill the beast!
Risk Legacy is so good it kinda made normal risk dull for me. That's the real issue here.
Where’s part 2
Each review is of a different board game. The playlist of all our reviews is at the end of the video. The next one is D&D: Castle Ravenloft.
Can’t believe she said she was Taliban. Huge unsubscribe
