That's not really the point since this scene was just suppost to showcase how much trouble le beta is capable of causing even for a main lead like Daryl. You can quite literally see how shocked his face looks, like he was in over his head trying to match up against beta.

Beta surviving that stab and that fall is possible, however daryl surviving a fight with beta is highly unlikely knowing everything beta can do and how skille he is, also beta is twice the size of daryl and twice as big with stronger punches and sheer strength

With Tom Payne's complaint of not having enough screen time as Jesus being a badass, THAT'S BECAUSE THEY GAVE SOME OR MOST OF HIS ROLES TO DARYL. My favorite characters were Jesus, Eugene, Gabriel, Carl and most of the minors from Kingdom, Hilltop, Alexandria and other communities that didn't get enough screen time.

I was thinking the character was a professional wrestler. They usually hire big people to be wrestlers. If this actor wasn't available I could actually see Mark Calaway ak undertaker playing this character. He dose have the right personality.
It also shows how strong Beta is. He was pushing daryl to his absolute limit. Before Beta fell down the shaft he was throwing daryl around like a rag doll and I think even Daryl knew he can’t physically overpower Beta so he had to rely on outmaneuvering him.

Beta is a frickin juggernaut. He went right through a wall, caught a wooden block getting thrashed at by Daryl, who is pretty strong, and didn’t even get fazed when getting stabbed or surviving a fall down a elevator
I love how Beta comes crashing through walls like the Nemesis from the Resident Evil series. It's just so scary seeing such a humongous man come running with speed at you like that. (>_

Beta gets a knife put into him, doesn't care, then punches Daryl through a wall, then punches through the wall, then pulls knife out that went in pretty deep and doesn't care. Ultimate badass

Nah, your dude just has a contract for a spin off and can't die anymore. Half the main cast has them now so the last six episodes are going to be pretty bland.
For the people saying "plot armor" It is a true thing, but with this scenario the outcome actually makes sense. Betas main objective was to get Lydia and Daryl was the one person who knew where she was. If he would have killed him, he wouldn't be able to get information on Lydia. Daryl had the biggest advantage of them all in a realistic scenario, Leverage.
Ya think he had to get on the whisperer hotline or something? Make an embarrassing phone call about how he failed by falling down an elevator shaft and he needed a lift?😂
I still gotta go Beta's handhold. One forward facing (thrusts and swipes), and one rear facing (defense along with my forearm, and surprise swipes + attacking someone behind you with half a turn) Edit: Bonus for being able to switch hamdholds, mid fight
At the start of their fight, for some reason, I can hear Merle egging his little brother on. "What's wrong buttercup, gonna let some punk outdo you? In front of me?". I feel as if Merle was preparing Daryl for moments just like this

Daryl and Merle probably had loads of people like Beta during their Normal life, They were both unsepereable and that made them Strong, growing under abuse, hanging out with though Guys and drug dealers etc. Daryl was from the Start different than the rest, he was born for this World, while the others had to adapt. All he learned was social interaction and loss.

SpezNas Lord Tachanka I actually think Angela Kang made great use of all the characters this season, I really like all the new characters even some of the ones I didn’t like last season I feel really got room to grow
this video is straight up perfect. Edition, sound effects, music choice. All its elements are so well put together that at first i thougth this was all from the original show, then i go check it and discover that this is just a separate edition of that scene. You really did an amazing job, and if this was aired exactly like this in the show it would be as professional as it can be, well done
When he got up after falling down the elevator shaft was the point I realized, this is the most dangerous man in the entirety of The Walking Dead. ...and his death was glorious.

People often talk about Daryl's "plot armor" in this scene but... Idk. Maybe I'm being fooled by his coat, but... Beta doesn't look like he is as proportionately strong as Daryl is. He is tall, he has more reach.. But he also seems to be a rather slow and clumsy fighter, and he seems to be "strong" but not "super strong".
I really love the story around Beta, his character to me felt like the first main boss of the story, dude is gigantic and clearly can tank a beating before dying while also managing to be eerily loyal to alpha all while whispering nonstop so no one recognizes who he is. Those things coupled with the scene of him accepting his death after being blinded make his character one of the creepiest characters portrayed in tv or film for me personally. Dead Space horror type vibes from Beta. Great show.
I think it's a shame Merle didn't live long enough to meet Negan. Even an entire episode of just the two of them walking through the woods and having a conversation would be worth watching.
You totally should! I was ready to quit at season 8, but season 9 has really brought life back into the show, you should give it a go, the new show runner actually knows what she's doing lol

Beta is an underrated good TWD villain. He have interesting past and he’ll of loyal soldier for alpha. He had soo much potential to be the next big bad.

Why is everybody complaining about the fight choreography? What is so wrong with it? These people aren't trained fighters,its not like they were trained by bruce lee or some guy from the army or CIA before the apocalypse begun. What your looking at is a pure streetfight. Ofcourse they fight ugly. If you want a good looking,obviously chronographed fight scened,then go watch ironfist instead. This fight is dope because its very natural. No bullshits.
Exactly!! See, that's what I love about it! Granted, theres a couple little details that could've been improved, but overall this fight scene was fucking amazing. The raw brutality of it is what made it so fucking badass!
I was with you right up until Iron Fist. Those fight scenes leave much to be desired. now Into The Badlands? That is blatantly choreographed, but it looks incredible. or even The Raid.
Camera is too jumpy. They cut way too much. And some of the cuts are kinda messy. Like 2:05 Beta just swings and then we see Daryl roll into the wall. Let us SEE Beta hit Daryl and then him fly through a wall. It was enjoyable though.

The reason Beta is so cool to me is because he reminds of Predator from the series. Massive, quick, and a fighter. They both wear a mask and have dreads, also have intelligence and strategy.
They'd not be much use. Tig would be fucking all the dead bodies. Jax is smeared over the front of a truck. Bobby Elvis has an eye missing. Juice has Maralyn Manson's dick rammed up his arse. Then again Happy is hard as fuck he'd probably win on his own.
Connor Pellegrini there’s this new Villian called the whisperers they are run by 2 leaders (mostly 1) Beta which is the Man and Alpha the woman the Alexandria’s crossed the whisper territory killing some of their people and the same back (won’t spoil the death its a main character) so Daryl and everyone are gonna have a war with the whisperers and kill them all (but probably the leaders and leave the people alone) cause they are a threat to everyone

It is a true thing, but with this scenario the outcome actually makes sense. Betas main objective was to get Lydia and Daryl was the one person who knew where she was. If he would have killed him, he wouldn't be able to get information on Lydia.
Daryl had the biggest advantage of them all in a realistic scenario, Leverage.

I still gotta go Beta's handhold. One forward facing (thrusts and swipes), and one rear facing (defense along with my forearm, and surprise swipes + attacking someone behind you with half a turn)

Daryl and Merle probably had loads of people like Beta during their Normal life, They were both unsepereable and that made them Strong, growing under abuse, hanging out with though Guys and drug dealers etc. Daryl was from the Start different than the rest, he was born for this World, while the others had to adapt. All he learned was social interaction and loss.

All its elements are so well put together that at first i thougth this was all from the original show, then i go check it and discover that this is just a separate edition of that scene. People often talk about Daryl's "plot armor" in this scene but... Idk. Maybe I'm being fooled by his coat, but... Beta doesn't look like he is as proportionately strong as Daryl is. He is tall, he has more reach.. But he also seems to be a rather slow and clumsy fighter, and he seems to be "strong" but not "super strong".
I really love the story around Beta, his character to me felt like the first main boss of the story, dude is gigantic and clearly can tank a beating before dying while also managing to be eerily loyal to alpha all while whispering nonstop so no one recognizes who he is. Those things coupled with the scene of him accepting his death after being blinded make his character one of the creepiest characters portrayed in tv or film for me personally. Dead Space horror type vibes from Beta. Great show.

Merle would've been a great character in the series if he lived longer, he was a great character regardless, but he'd be better.
I think it's a shame Merle didn't live long enough to meet Negan. Even an entire episode of just the two of them walking through the woods and having a conversation would be worth watching.

Why is everybody complaining about the fight choreography? What is so wrong with it? These people aren't trained fighters,its not like they were trained by bruce lee or some guy from the army or CIA before the apocalypse begun. What your looking at is a pure streetfight. Ofcourse they fight ugly. If you want a good looking,obviously chronographed fight scened,then go watch ironfist instead. This fight is dope because its very natural. No bullshits.

Connor Pellegrini there’s this new Villian called the whisperers they are run by 2 leaders (mostly 1) Beta which is the Man and Alpha the woman the Alexandria’s crossed the whisper territory killing some of their people and the same back (won’t spoil the death its a main character) so Daryl and everyone are gonna have a war with the whisperers and kill them all (but probably the leaders and leave the people alone) cause they are a threat to everyone
For me, its the literal 2 badass side characters fighting that makes this scene epic
