Those nozzles with the side vents and closed top may create some reflections, listen for it in your testing and let us know. In the 90s I owned a co in Nashville that made custom speakers and monitors for touring musicians. We built a custom monitor for the Oak Ridge Boys and they wanted a really wide Soundstage on the thing, unusual as most monitors (speakers) have a narrow focus. We reversed a mid high 100 w driver into a stainless steel round inverted horn, and the mid highs had a huge Soundstage as the driver fired into the center and sound came completely around in a wide spread. It was a lot like this nozzel concept. It sounded great at first, you could hear that one speaker everywhere onstage. However I kept hearing something strange so I went looking for it. I disconnected the woofer and listened to just the horn. At moderate to high volume I started to hear something very strange. The sound going from the driver was hitting the metal and spreading out to the sides as it was supposed to do, but at high volume it sounded just like bbs hitting against a metal pan.It was in the background but you could still hear it. We completely redesigned it because of that. So, Im wondering if the sound hitting that metal tip and then shooting out the sides, (which is what we did) be the same way at high volumes? Please give it a good listen and check that detail out, because sound aimed into a metal stop and reflected back can create sound of its own, and if this happens it will sound like tiny ticks in the background at high volumes. Of course we were putting a lot of power into just that driver, but the principle is the same. Really curious about this. Sonny T
@@ReverendDr.Thomas actually it’s a request to listen for a particular potential problem. That’s what he does, listen and review. @@in-earfetish we do the same thing using analog or digital distribution amps. It’s nothing new, been done since the 50s. Very common in pro or studio audio. Are the Dunu SS tips generally associated with a broader sound stage? I've been wondering about the Timeless since I started looking at IEM's. This review was really useful. Thanks.
I pray that 7hz DOES NOT keep the mmcx. The mmcx is the reason I did not even touch the first timeless, and why I am jumping straight to the timeless AE. just too damn weak of a connector. It likes to get fucked over time, while 0.78 2 pin just keeps on going.
I know this is months old, I have the original timeless, I would say grab the timeless AE is you plan to get the OG, the connection on my original timeless 7hz is not good so I lose audio randomly on one side.
