RIVER MONSTER in the Myakka River

In this clip I go into the Myakka River to target big species. Threw out a flat line with a cut piece of lady fish while drifting. I was using a 5/0 Circle hook and 25 lbs test leader and with that light tackle something is always bond to happen with big fish. In my case he must of rubbed against something or just broke the hook away from the leader. I hooked up to him for a second time and the same thing! Hooked popped off.... Kept trying for a bit more but the Cobia didn't bite again. Oh well... better luck next time!

Was that the Hwy 41 bridge in the background? I've lived and fished on the Myakka for 20 years and never dreamed cobia would come up this far!
