Am I the only who always thought there was something.... sinister? about Sieglinde? When she tells you at firelink that she's finally tracked down her father and will be leaving soon, you can talk to her again and get a comment about "if my father hollows, I'll just have to kill him again" followed by her laughing. And then when you do find them both, she's standing over siegmeyer's dead body, having just killed him, claiming that he had gone hollow(when he was perfectly fine the last time we saw him) Its not out of the ordinary for NPC's to randomly hollow in this game, but her comment of "kill him AGAIN" means this isn't the first time she's killed him. I dunno something just mever felt right there to me
It's because she knows siegmeyer isn't a very capable man, unable to solve solutions to problems, and unable to keep secrets. She killed him because she didn't want him to tell the secret of the ancient dragon.
The wording is a bit weird. She says she will "kill him again" because Siegmeyer is an undead, meaning he already died once. Whether she was the one who killed him or not is a different matter. I personally doubt it.
This has to be the most badass implication for a Dark Souls character ever since I found out from the item description that Artorias is actually left handed and beated or ass with his non dominant sword
She was trapped in a crystal statue, so that is probably how she avoided the undead curse. that being said, she manages to make her way out of Seath, the scaleless lair, out of Anor Londo, and she gets to Fire Link shrine So she likely had to get past Sen's fortress. then makes her way to Blight Town, get to the great Hollow, and finally reaches her hollowed father at Ash Lake. all on one life, not knowing all the dangers that took the player many tries to get past and will likely will still die too.
The thing about “fat armor” is that the user isn’t actually fat. They have a a MASSIVE gambeson with extra padding so they take less blunt force trauma on impact. Babygirl takes her safety SERIOUSLY as did her pops. You just know she’s a total knockout under there.
Correction, its not that she cant become undead, its that she hasn't become undead yet. Iirc by the end of the quest she becomes undead after dealing with siegmeyer.
@@Kangur08Just like Gael and Cirris from DS3. Going hollow doesn't necessarily mean dying a bunch of times. It is strongly connected to your life goals. Dreams and duties keep the undead from going hollow, it's their final anchor of sanity. And fulfilling said dreams and duties removes it.
@@melodicdumpster I'm pretty sure the undead have the Darksign on their bodies, which would be an indication... But perhaps it only appears after death?
Being "truly human" is to be immortal. That is what the darksign is for. To suppress the inside immortality of humanity. It is a ring of fire surrounding, enclosing the darkness. The reason we are reborn is because the fire fades. It is no longer strong enough to keep humanity at bay.
Cut Dialog: ‘Not even Undead.’ Is this on newer editions? I still have the original PC release. And that dialog still crops up whenever I go through Sigs quest.
I thought that it was well-established that Sieglinde was human. I have the impression that she admits this, or strongly implies it, but it's been a long time since I've played the game. I can't remember her dialogue well enough to cite anything. It might just be that she says that she traveled to Lordran specifically to track down her father. Her purpose doesn't have anything to do with being undead, like everyone else's seems to. And she's one of the few NPCs who doesn't go hollow.
Sieglinde is one of the most badass characters in any fromsoft game. The fact that she was able to reach ash lake without perishing shows that she's one of the greatest warriors of her time.

What was her main objective again? To find her father and tell him her mother’s last words. By the Lords, how lucky was Siegmeyer to have a daughter this awesome?!
I’ve always wondered about this. Where Lordan exists in the greater world. We hear about places where the undead are from before they died but we never get to see them. I almost imagined that Lordran acted as a sort of afterlife. Inaccessible to the world of the living and vice verse.
Undead in Dark Souls are drawn to bonfires, and Lordran is home of THE bonfire of all bonfires, the Kiln of the First Flame. Logically, Undead are drawn to Lordran. They might each have their own individual reason, either prophecy, or the Duke's Archives, but instinctively, they'd go there regardless. Since normal humans despise and fear Undead (due to the whole "Hollows go crazy" thing), it makes sense that Lordran would have been evacuated of all humans by the time the game starts.
If you move the camera so you can try to see the inside of Siegmeyer's helmet, you can see that he still looks human. I'd like to think its a glitch and they forgot to update the model to look hollow, or he was killed just before becoming a hollow.
Well honestly besides the poison swamps the only reason I die is getting overconfident and running into a horde. And bosses, considering she is still alive and means we killed them all for her or she managed to sneak past them beforehand. Which wouldn't be super hard when all she needs to is to survive hollows and stuff like that.
The only thing though is that it feels like she didn’t do it to help her father in any way, hell we meet him an area earlier and he’s completely sane and not showing any signs of hollowification, that plus a look at his body through the armor shows it’s still filled with humanity. It feels more like deep rooted resentment that her father can be so careless while adventuring as well as abandoning her and her mother that she kills him.
I’d love dark souls to make this part of there games. Regular undead characters and characters that start off human and when they die they’re put into the hall of fame so you can go back and look at what your character looked like moments before death and see there stats on enemy’s bosses and everything

When she tells you at firelink that she's finally tracked down her father and will be leaving soon, you can talk to her again and get a comment about "if my father hollows, I'll just have to kill him again" followed by her laughing.
And then when you do find them both, she's standing over siegmeyer's dead body, having just killed him, claiming that he had gone hollow(when he was perfectly fine the last time we saw him)
Its not out of the ordinary for NPC's to randomly hollow in this game, but her comment of "kill him AGAIN" means this isn't the first time she's killed him. I dunno something just mever felt right there to me
It's because she knows siegmeyer isn't a very capable man, unable to solve solutions to problems, and unable to keep secrets. She killed him because she didn't want him to tell the secret of the ancient dragon.
@@slugintubIs this ur theory about her? Y would she want to stop him from revealing the secrets about the ancient dragons?
The wording is a bit weird. She says she will "kill him again" because Siegmeyer is an undead, meaning he already died once. Whether she was the one who killed him or not is a different matter. I personally doubt it.
Idk but maybe she said again because she killed him the first time causing him to become undead
I think she means that she will make him dead again, as he is undead. Not that she killed him in the first place.
Shes mastered the ds1 deathless run
On her first try too. Without Estus, right? I think only Undead can drink Estus, because it's basically liquid fire. Correct me if I'm wrong.
not really, she never kills gwyn
she just turned being undead against us like DAMN I give up
There can be only one... Onion Knight.
In short she says “ i shall deliver to you what it’s yours, destined death”.
The true no death DS1 speedrunner
She's doing a deathless run
This has to be the most badass implication for a Dark Souls character ever since I found out from the item description that Artorias is actually left handed and beated or ass with his non dominant sword
underrated character for sure
How to write a strong female character:
I'm almost glad that she's not in DS3 like everyone else. That implies that she remained without the Undead Curse her entire life.
Doesn't she go hollow? But how does a living human go hollow?
@@Kangur08Just like Gael and Cirris from DS3. Going hollow doesn't necessarily mean dying a bunch of times. It is strongly connected to your life goals. Dreams and duties keep the undead from going hollow, it's their final anchor of sanity. And fulfilling said dreams and duties removes it.
Yeah, you don't know if you are undead until you die for the first time (I suppose)
@@melodicdumpster I'm pretty sure the undead have the Darksign on their bodies, which would be an indication...
But perhaps it only appears after death?
@@Kangur08 As I recall, she does not.
Pops does though.
"I'll kill you as many times as it takes."
"Lol.", said the Gravelord Greatsword.
"Lmao.", replied the weilder.
**Threatens you adorably**
Being "truly human" is to be immortal. That is what the darksign is for. To suppress the inside immortality of humanity. It is a ring of fire surrounding, enclosing the darkness.
The reason we are reborn is because the fire fades. It is no longer strong enough to keep humanity at bay.
I love her. So much resolve
Speed runners be like : how? , How ? , HOW ?, *HOW?*
I really loved this quest line
At 40:47 when Yuniko says your father is the wind at your back, she’s being literal as the wind is actually used as a mechanic in game to guide tou
Of course she has patience. Her Father is a guy that sits around and waits all day
And that Hollywood is how you write a strong willed woman character
Do all the Knights of Katarina have "Sieg" in their Name? I knew of Siegward and Siegmeyer? And now sieglinde
It's presumably a family naming scheme
Cut Dialog: ‘Not even Undead.’
Is this on newer editions? I still have the original PC release. And that dialog still crops up whenever I go through Sigs quest.
I have remastered on ps4, and still he says it, so I guess autor of video made a mistake
First time I completed Siegmeyers quest line I thought sieglinde killed him so I absolutely mutilated her
“I will kill you as many times as it takes” in her voice, is kinda funny to me.
Stronger than any of us DS protagonist could ever be.
I don't think so
idk man let me see if she is that strong.
i'm back. nah, she's not that strong.
My Havel build says no
Sieglinde is one of the most badass characters in any fromsoft game. The fact that she was able to reach ash lake without perishing shows that she's one of the greatest warriors of her time.
not even cut content that’s just their story line lmao
Real life is also insane when we think about life outside our society.
That’s what Miyazaki wants us to see. The world is dark by itself and it is us who give meaning to the ride.
She has such an adorable voice and way of speaking, though.
Thank you for this information!
That's Crazy!!!!
That's It!!!! I'm Doing Another Dark Souls Playthrough!!!
Sieglinde let me introduce you to a little thing called a +5 quelaag fury sword
Common Hades music W
Hades theme in the background did not go unnoticed
Let's not forget that this is CUT content.
It's not cut content though? He literally said it to me during my playthrough.
Lore like this is why OG Dark Souls will always be the #1 Souls game.
Dark Souls no death challenge.
Real thing in dark souls 2, you get a ring for it too. Also a ring if you do the entire game without resting at a bonfire.
@@DefinitelyFroggyDioBrandowtf really? I never knew that I have completed it before and got every collectible and now you tell me this🥲🥲🥲 welp about to start up DS2
@@Mr.Plankton. good luck, also using primal bonfires don't count as resting so feel free to use those
@@Mr.Plankton.how you didnt know about it?
Cool pfp
Now I wanna see someone making a ds gameplay as Sieglinde, not that hard since already have a ton of no death runs, but with that armor from the start is gonna be hard since it's quite heavy
Sieglinde and Lindelt must be related
If not directly, then by the Linden leaf that covered the mythical Siegward's (Sigurd's) ankle when he bathed in Dragon Blood.
I admire her courage, but she's no match for barehand parries. Can confirm 😔
She didn't give me too much trouble, think it took 4 hits with a raw giant club.
How could you
@@SaintLumbridgei did it in two easy steps: i killed the crystal golem and then started bonking that patricidal harlot into the ground until she stopped getting back.
It doesn't seem cut dialog because I remember from 360 days that he says it when we talk to him after meeting Sieglinde
Thanks
She travelled from the Duke’s Archive all the way to the Ash Lake on one life. Without the Lordvessel, she would have had to go through Anor Londo, Sen’s fortress, the Undead Parish, the Depths, Blighttown and the Great Hollow, all in one piece! What was her main objective again? To find her father and tell him her mother’s last words. By the Lords, how lucky was Siegmeyer to have a daughter this awesome?!
The Hades soundtrack is amazing
Of course she is like that, having such an amazing man as a father
Its not cut content
hades music hitting in the background
Samurai? Go make content about something you are knowledgeable about dude
i think he's talking about the discipline and the other things, not that she is literally a samurai lol
Why so hostile? we are not gonna applaud you bro
I’ve always wondered about this. Where Lordan exists in the greater world. We hear about places where the undead are from before they died but we never get to see them. I almost imagined that Lordran acted as a sort of afterlife. Inaccessible to the world of the living and vice verse.
If I had chonk ass armor like that traversing Lordran with only one life, I'd be pretty confident as well lol
Why would she kill us? We only ever tricked to help onion bro/her dad
That's most likely her dialogue for when you have attacked and provoked her, making her line under the context of self-defense.
That means no bonfires, no estus, no leveling up. Basically a no hit sl1 run. Basically a pro gamer.
i will not be denied the "you died" screen
Tan calmada y serena su voz al decir eso... es epico
Nice Hades music in the background
If you move the camera so you can try to see the inside of Siegmeyer's helmet, you can see that he still looks human. I'd like to think its a glitch and they forgot to update the model to look hollow, or he was killed just before becoming a hollow.
Well honestly besides the poison swamps the only reason I die is getting overconfident and running into a horde. And bosses, considering she is still alive and means we killed them all for her or she managed to sneak past them beforehand. Which wouldn't be super hard when all she needs to is to survive hollows and stuff like that.
Well even if she dies she still has a mission, so she won't go hollow till her task is finished
Why was it cut it is very interesting
"When she realizes your one of the bad ones..." Now what you mean by that...🤔😂
Cut content? I can vividly rememeber Siegmeyer telling me that his daughter is not an undead.
I've always felt like the idea that the undead can revive was unclear. Any NPC that we kill, no matter how determined they were before, stays dead.
@TechnoticPlate As solaire once said "The flow of time itself is convoluted"
Girl really said "Do you wanna have a bad time"
This is even confirmed by the fact that she is the NPC with more humanity in the game (10).
i didn't even know sieglinde existed imma be real
Usually, it's the girl not knowing the guy existed. Nice to have a change of pace!
Now I wanna do a deathless run. Let there be soul grinding!
I’d love dark souls to make this part of there games. Regular undead characters and characters that start off human and when they die they’re put into the hall of fame so you can go back and look at what your character looked like moments before death and see there stats on enemy’s bosses and everything
"I will kill you as many times as it gets"
The OG sans undertale. So glad I decided to play ds 1
I never did any of the NPC quest in ds1. I was too young and didn't care about them while playing. I want to go back and try and do all the ones I find interesting because it's one of my favorite games
