What I like the most about PoE 2 is the combat. No more one button and a dash ability or character bound skills, that just get damage numbers, but it feels incredibly engaging, building different skills for combos. For an instance, I play a Mercenary Grenadier now, using flash grenades to stun and blind packs, gas grenades to put up some smoke and then explosive grenades to blow everything up. Even in the earlier acts it already feels like an actual build and is super fun. I am so hyped for the new classes when they get added eventually, like the Druid with his Shapeshifting.
I had more fun one the gross worm first boss than all of the D4 campaign. Tbf I had a lot of fun with d4 but this is just a whole new level. You can tell the devs poured their love into POE2 to make the best product possible.
Loving it. The combat has been great in the early game. The slower pace has made combat more deliberate and tactical. I think they have struck a fairly good balance that makes every enemy encounter feel potentially dangerous, instead of just being low threat cannon fodder. My biggest gripe is that some of the early Act1 bosses can one-shot you, which could be a big turn off to new players.
I think if you aren't a fan of ARPG games and crafting builds. Then it can take time for POE2 to click. Not many games have complex build crafting. And if you are only willing to do a singular build, then I can see any ARPG getting old. Otherwise POE2 is an easy game to like and a lot of fun to play.
The game would be great IF I didnt have massive network lag in the evenings when I play. I've done extensive internet troubleshooting isolating different parts of the signal path and there are no issues or fluxuatuons. Its also not tied to graphics. Their own graphs show network spikes that cause stuttering and 1-2 sec lock-ups. Sadly, it seems to be something on the game's end, and a quick Google search shows I'm hardly the only one with this issue.
It is just Diablo 4....it looks like every other ARPG over last few years....Wolcen, just the same, graphically beautiful. but its a soulless boring game to me
For me as a only d4 player I never played d3 or d2 , I also never played poe1 Albeit I will say in a lot of ways poe2 feels a lot better. The visuals are nice as well as some of the synergy in skills. One thing that bothers me so much about poe2 though is the lack of world interaction so much shit should be able to be broken but you just can’t. The actual physics and world design of diablo4 is on another level over poe2 . Sure it doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things but it makes the world feel very artificial and weird.
We're letting pause respawn slide?? 😂 Definitely not HC then, seriously getting butt kicked and players can opt out? I love you so I'm just busting plums mostly.
i quit and uninstalled poe2 after getting to maps and realizing it's fundamentally the exact same game just with worse character control and builds. why play the same thing but worse?
The game is in early access. Let it cook. And to many of us, the slower and more precise gameplay is winner rather than click mouse once and everything dying in a second.
@@grev. Have to hard disagree with you, i like to think while i play, react to stuff, instead of pressing mouse button and let it play for itself. guess each have their own taste.
I can confidently say that POE2 is my favorite game of 2024. As you said, it’s setting a new standard for ARPGs.

I love the combats too ! Really engaging
Love the title. Always happy to see people finding the good in things

I thought this as well but hearing the game director talk about it sounded sensible.

@@markov622 im not going to let it cook. at a fundamental level it is an inferior product.
