- Hello ladies and gentlemen welcome back to the channel and in today’s video we have a big one… ranking every single boss fight from worst to best in tier list format in elden ring and the new shadow of the Erdtree dlc! That includes remembrance bosses, mini bosses, field bosses, cave bosses, dungeon bosses, and catacombs bosses. No jokes today yall, this video took a really long time to make, so I’d appreciate ANY AND ALL feedback, if I did something stupid (besides forgetting there was 206 bosses not 205 for the first half of the vid) then pls lmk.
this is a crazy suggestion but maybe do every single from software boss next
my only main criticism so far is that the scaly misbegotten is a totally different enemy to the leonine and crusader (crusader is the holy attack one). the scaly one is the gross looking guy with the axe. other than that good work so far!

I honestly don't get the struggle. He caught me off guard a couple times but his moveset is pretty slow and easy to read 😭

First off, amazing work respect for making this video with so much effort honestly good list overall i agree and disagree most of them, naturally. Here is my opinion about the list: it was really suprising to see gaius being ahead of mohg, not that i hate gaius i still think he is overhated but top 15 bro? He is a good fight but he is just a good fight. There is nothing special about him the lore, his moves, him being a rider boss, even the ost is the same as commander niall, just a simple mini boss style basic boss imo. compared to mohg, which is my favorite base game boss without a doubt, being one of the most complex boss with one of the best positoning-rewarding moveset, the best ost in the base game, one of the most epic transition in the whole series, yeah it really suprised me. Also i was suprised to see hippo being that high too, i don't think hippo is overhated at all, in fact if i go around and say i did not like any bit of the hippo fight, i would not be lying. Camera, arena, hitboxes, moveset, ost (literally reused audio), he is easy aswell (camera and hitboxes being the difficulty is something i despise) even the design is ok? I mean hipopotam is cool but its not interesting to me at all, yeah there is really nothing i like about it. But Consort radahn being top 5 is something i really like about your list, he has one of the best ost in the entire series and has amazing spectacle amazing moveset, just some problems with his difficulty. But if the cross slash and his hitboxes get fixed, he might even get higher on my list. Now placidusax is a special case, where he is the only fight that i liked in my first playthrough, but hated hell even sometimes despised about it in my consecutive playthroughs, he is an amazing boss in terms of spectacle one of the best without a doubt, but mechanicly? Oh boy its literally a chore, there is nothing interesting about his fight mechanically, he runs away, teleports and teleports again, his flames are stupid and annoying to avoid, his melee combos are just meh, you can't fight him like bayle which is HOW a real dragon fight should be 1v1 with a strong feeling that you are fighting a dragon, not doing a chore. I hated more and more i fought against placidusax, unlike literally any boss i have fought in any other fromsoft game. Now maliketh is definetly a top tier boss in the whole game and definetly one of my favorites in the base game, but his 1st phase and lack of hp in his 2nd phase really downgrades his fight a lot imo. I dont particularly hate his 1st phase but i don't like it too, i even rl1 no hit elden ring but still cant bring myself to enjoy clergyman that much, he is like gaius for me, easy and basic but kinda fun in a way. But i have no complaints about his 2nd phase other than his low hp, he is so fun and cool i wish we could get the 2nd hp bar. But 3rd place is definetly not suprising since he is one of the coolest and fun bosses in the whole series. Would be 6th or 7th in my list.
Now Bayle is a whole another story, i think he is literally perfect. (Other than some very little nische problems) Bayle was all i wished what midir was. Midir makes me feel like i am fighting a literal dragon but thats it, his mechanics are easy as hell in fact, it still suprises me how people thinks he is hard since its just a dodging back simulator or even worse you can just walk/run backwards and avoid %90 of his attacks. His camera sucks, he can spam his easiest combo which is the 2x claw attack and the fight becomes easy even if you don't wanna dodge backwards, kind going off topic rn but dw. Now Bayle, he is amazing, both in spectacle, the feeling of a dragon and the mechanics, he is fast, he has combos that feels amazing to dodge, his camera is one of the best compared to other big bosses not to mention his music and lore on top of that the build up... its just cherry on top, my first ever big boss to take a place in my favorite top 10/5 fromsoftware bosses. Now bayle was literally perfect but i think Messmer is more flawless than him, and he is a humanoid boss soo... I won't beat around the bush, Messmer is my favorite boss fromsoftware ever created. I tested if this was a recency bias, played all of the souls games again and no, he is my favorite in terms of everything. His moveset, rythmic flow of the fight, his ost, his voice actor, his design,(coolest character in the whole series imo) cutscenes, his tragic character and lore, the buildup, there is literally no flaw imo, even the arena that you said is a bit meh adds a lot into his character and matches him with how depressed and tragic a character he is. You said that you didn't like his 2nd phase that much but i disagree because his snake attacks are so fun and easy to dodge also making him one of the most epic battles in the whole series. But that of course comes with a flaw, THE ONLY FLAW that his 2nd phase being easier than his 1st in exchange of being way more cinematic. Mechanically, i think he same in terms of fun as the Owl (father) which is my 2nd favorite boss in the whole series, but the other things like ost, epicness, design etc. Makes him better imo.
Now these are of course are my opinions and i think overall you have a good list and you put a lot of efforts into this video not just this video of course, listening your interesting takes about some bosses was fun, i really appreciate your efforts with these videos, keep it up mate.
100% Agree with Messmer > Bayle. The best aspects of Bayles fight are better than the best aspects of Messmers fight, but he also has some minor flaws imo. First, his camera is handled well for the boss he is, but its still worse than most humanoid bosses and can be annoying sometimes. Second, his arena is very basic. Messmers arena is simple too, but it suits the design of the enviroment much better. Bayles arena on top of being a bit boring, feels very unnatural in the area it is placed in. Third, in his 2nd phase due to changes in his attack patterns and new attacks you get less opportunities for punishment, taking away one of the best aspects of the first phase. Bayle is still in my top 5 ER bosses, but the things mentioned above imo outweight his gap to Messmer in terms of visuals, ost,...

Excellent work putting this whole thing together bro. While I do disagree for some picks, your top 10 is pretty solid. To me, Messmer is the best boss FromSoft has ever made, but I'm also biased because he just checks every box for me. Keep it up man, I look forward to more content!

Putrescent Knight is loved? People don't like Bayle? Where are you getting your information from? Most people I've seen think Putrescent Knight is below average and say Bayle is GOATed. Personally, I think PK is good, not great, and Bayle is the best boss in ER. I actually completely agree with your top 2. I'd have put Malenia at #3 and Rellana at #4.
I think with Gaius, the only real problem I have with him is the charge attack. Everything else is fine. Don't care of the Golden Rhinocipotomus; janky camera and tiny arena.
And am I the only person that beat Blackgaol Knight on the first try? It seems everyone struggled at least a little with that boss. I don't get it.
But thanks for showing some love to Fire Giant. I really feel he's overhated.
If I have a complaint about the video, I'd say I think you should look up the areas where the bosses are found before recording so you can provide the proper information. I understand forgetting the names of all those many places, but it's so much more professional if you're not struggling while recording. In general, I'd say get all the information you need before recording.
Other than that, great job.
PS. Where would you rank Needle Knight Leda and her Associates?
Dude I absolutely love needle knight Leda and her allies so if that was a boss fight, definitely in the amazing tier. Also for the constructive criticism, I know my vid has flaws, some of my opinions don’t match up w the rest of the community, and my recording would be better if I had a script or notes to go off of, but I love just talking to the camera, I feel it gives a more genuine feel to it lol but maybe I’m delusional and just lazy

good video but Gaius at 13 is crazy
Honestly never understood the Gaius hate. He’s pretty easy outside of his charge attack, which can be easily rolled through if he does it up close and can be avoided by Torrent at long range. Ebrietas and Oceiros, despite having worse charge attacks, aren’t nearly as hated by the community. Just my thoughts.

@@AydenMartinez-iv3jt I agree that gaius is overhated too but 13th place is still a bit crazy when you think he is above mohg. Gaius is just an okay boss with kinda fun moveset, a moveset that is not special by any means, in fact none of his aspects is special, other than his lore which is still pretty meh, aswell as same ost as the commander bosses, he is just a basic fun boss but nothing else same tier as crucible knights or tree sentinels.
I had more fun fighting Gaius than Mohg so I put him higher. I stated in the beginning it’s just how much I enjoyed the fight. Also Mohg is only one spot lower than Gaius, it’s not like I’m saying he’s indefinitely better, just that as of rn, I like him slightly more lol

It's difficult to rank them all really. I'd say I enjoyed fighting Godrick, Morgott and Rykard the most. The other fights mainly fall into the spectacle or fight mechanics categories, but I thought these fights were especially good at both.
Seeing jori anywhere but godawful tier was a real surprise

Hot take, I rank every open world drake/dragon on the bottom. They constantly fly away and breath attacks are bullshit.
I disagree with this, especially when Torrent makes it quite manageable to catch up. It might seem annoying to also fight them on Torrent, but when you figure out how to properly utilise him in combat (use Torrent for mobility, get on the ground to land hits), over world Drakes and Dragons are pretty fun.
Much better than Ancient Wyvern and most early game bosses of DS3

I loved the elden ring dlc and I thought most of the bosses were amazing but most of the arenas felt so empty to me.
Also, most of the bosses were missing cutscenes imo. For example Romina or Rellana should've had cutscene, or maybe even Putrescent Knight and Bayle

Also did you learn nothing from Margit and Tree Sentinel? If a boss is stupidly strong, you should probably explore more (there's so many scadu blessings around)
He has close quarters and long range, the 2h vs 1h sword "phases" that have their nuances, unlike with pseudo npc fights. He's extremely rewarding, cool looking, a different fight. Does not deserve the last spot, not even close
No idea how you put him below any of the other mausoleum npc's in dlc
