The amount of work required for this film is simply incredible. You absolutely nailed the feeling. The vibe. The color. The sense of being all alone in a land of beauty. Thank you for continuing to inspire.
We really missed you, Drew. I know “life happens” and TH-cam is your side gig, but just know you are highly appreciated for what you bring to us. Thank you!
I stopped watching Kraig Adams once he switched to filming on his iphone and the videos lost its beauty. I'm glad there's people still out there lugging their heavy gear to make good quality shots like this!
The same thing happened to me. I used to watch Kraig Adams but by way of his minimalism, things really got worse. Hot take: Sometimes sensor size matters.
Drew, the number of times I said to myself "He's gotta turn around to get the camera at some point" ...and then you cut to a shot of you further away! Incredible work man. Very inspiring
Those are 100% drone shots. I used to think the same thing and then started looking into it and you can have the drone stay stationary. One of the shots he roped down the mountain then kept walking lol No way he’d do that if he had to go back. Haha
Breathtaking footage! This is national geographic worthy. The quality of your video is like a cinematic masterpiece. Probably one if the most beautiful hiking videos i have seen. Cheers from Alaska.
This is great, what a beautifully captured video. I can't believe that some of the crew members actually survived that crash. There was another crash east of Anchorage into an icefield, none survived. The wreckage is embedded across over 10 miles of glacier now.
This is incredible. The scenery and the drone shots are just jaw dropping. It must take so much effort to take all these shots from so many different angles and perspectives.
This is one of your best videos Drew! I thoroughly enjoyed the soothingness and sounds of nature with beautiful visuals through your lens. Keep up the good work and inspiring all of us to get out in the nature.
I've only just found your channel, my first example of your hard work - I've watched. Utterly spell binding, re filming and directorship. Being an ex Park Ranger and an historic aircraft enthusiast, what an incredible marriage of stunning landscape and human tragedy. When you see the remote landscape this crash happened in, it brings into focus the human fragility of technology and mother nature. An epic hike.
I've watched you since your early camping days. And now you are a bonafide nature cinematographer. I'm blown away by this video. thank you for this and keep up the good work.
This is some of the best cinematography on TH-cam. Drew you are so talented and I simply love the artistic skills you have. Some of those shots climbing hand over fist and then to have to do it again to go retrieve that camera, you are definitely putting in the work and we certainly appreciate it.
Drew makes one of the best outdoor videos with astonishing landscape footages. It's unfathomable to imagine the efforts that he puts into shooting and editing these videos..Big fan of your work and always waiting for your new videos. Truly devotional and inspiring 🙏🙏🙏.
Awesome job Drew.!! Been wondering where you been and now the wait is worth the wait.2 thumbs up .!! It keep company for my 8 shift graveyard. Hello from sacramento, california
I always wait to watch a new episode. It may be days or it may be weeks as I always watch them when the time is right and I need to unwind. Thank You Drew for a very relaxing half hour !
Glad to see another absolutely stunning video from you Drew. These bring me so much peace and joy every time. I'm really looking forward to your next one!
It's so incredible how this accident happened yet the nature surrounding it just found it's way winding through it. The streams twisting around the rubble and metal as though its part of the landscape. Incredible video as always
Absolutely inspiring, Drew! Watching you navigate the stunning solitude of Hatcher Pass speaks volumes about the power of presence and storytelling. It’s incredible how, as a creator, you’re able to keep us captivated for 30+ minutes without saying a word (almost 😀)-the way you craft a story through breathtaking shots and careful pacing is a true art. Every scene feels intentional, drawing us deeper into the journey and connecting us with the wild in a way that words simply couldn’t. Your talent for letting the landscape speak for itself is a rare gift. Thanks for sharing these powerful, silent stories with us-keep blazing trails and showing us that true adventure is felt, not told! Cheers all the way from Montreal and hope to cross paths one day, safe travels buddy!!!
No dialogue until over 12 minutes in, that was a great intro to let the viewer take in the scenery and your hike to get to the hut. Like others have said, nothing but respect knowing all those shots involved tedious setup and countless steps to/from the camera 👌🏼
Fabulous work. I spent several years in the late 60s early 70s hiking, camping, living in Anchorage. That was quite a journey you documented. Subscribed.
I absolutely love Hatcher pass, it is truly beautiful. I did the arch angel hike a few years ago and it was tough but would love to do it again hopefully next summer. Your videos are so amazing and captures the beauty of nature❤
That bomber crashed in 1957. The air is still in the tires? The air in those tires is 67 years old. That aside..... This truly is a cinematographers work of excellence. It's worthy of a documentary film on National geographic. I am glad I found your Channel
Absolutely outstanding & entertaining video Drew. As always we loved it & the film making was of an extremely high standard. Absolutely beautiful landscape.
What a great video. Astounding, people don’t understand that just getting to the mint hut(red hut) is 8+ miles one way. This is an incredible video and I have been on these trails almost daily because they are in my backyard. I totally respect the time it took to get the video, bravo! It was nice to meet you.
Amazing video! What an adventure. I sent your Angel's Landing snow video to my friend. He texted back with the ultimate compliment. Your video's will put PBS documentaries out of business. I absolutely agree! Keep up the good work.
I m a huge kraig adams fan,,i m a hiker too,but this video has just another level..everything is so perfect...i m sure m gonna watch it many times...brilliant👍
Bro that was INCREDIBLE. I've yet to do the Bomber Traverse.. mainly because of crowds. Done other cool out of the way backpacking trips in the Talkeetnas however. Awesome stuff!!
How am i out of words... AND ITS NOT EVEN A MINUTE INTO THE VIDEO! Спасибо большое, за такую прекрасную работу! Edit: For me, it feels like Long dark + Death stranding atmosphere - and it's awesome!
Breathtaking...I get to see the world and all its beauty through your lens....Thank you., I am too old to travel and didnt see much of the world. I had family that lived in Alaska but I never made it up there. I also hope to see you on a trip in your jeep soon too. I like those as well. I can't imagine sharing a hut with strangers. LOL
I am at that age where I realize I will never be able to do anything like this. So I really appreciate you taking the time to make such a masterpiece so I can at least share the experience from my couch.
The amount of work required for this film is simply incredible. You absolutely nailed the feeling. The vibe. The color. The sense of being all alone in a land of beauty. Thank you for continuing to inspire.
You hit the nail on the head brother, It looks surreal and almost mystical……..
We really missed you, Drew. I know “life happens” and TH-cam is your side gig, but just know you are highly appreciated for what you bring to us. Thank you!

Thanks for being here! Appreciate the support
The same thing happened to me. I used to watch Kraig Adams but by way of his minimalism, things really got worse. Hot take: Sometimes sensor size matters.
@@drewsimmswell it's not as good as your previous video my mom loves your videos with your car and your sweet kitchen
Kraigs adams lol
Drew is one of the best cinematographers of this generation. Anyone who disagrees with that can argue with a wall.
I just did. The wall fuckin demolished my dumbass.
afraid to say he is the best? why only one of the best? Weak statement
Drew is in another dimension. That is a fact.
Hard work, hard gear. Just keep goin’ Man.
Respect from Hungary.
Always a good day when this man uploads 😊
I appreciate you being here man
Drew, the number of times I said to myself "He's gotta turn around to get the camera at some point" ...and then you cut to a shot of you further away! Incredible work man. Very inspiring
I kept thinking..dang he has to walk back to get the camera on those cliffs and rocks. UGH. I would be exhausted too.
I'm thinking and hoping... some of those shots have to be from the drone just sitting stationary so he doesn't have to go back to get it.
Those are 100% drone shots. I used to think the same thing and then started looking into it and you can have the drone stay stationary. One of the shots he roped down the mountain then kept walking lol No way he’d do that if he had to go back. Haha
Breathtaking video! Spectacular photography and perfect hauntingly beautiful music when touring the wreckage. Excellent!!!!!
Wow, what an amazing trip and footage. My mother 86 years also enjoyed watching!
Love to hear you guys are watching together! Thanks for the support

This film epitomizes the idea "every frame a painting". Incredible work.
