Your videos are amazing! If you have the time, I would LOVE to see how you'd go about making a really gnarled tree, like an Olive tree. Thanks for your helpful content!
Thanks really appreciate it , that is in the tutorial list 👌🏻the olive tree and feel free to become a member on the patreon page to help this channel grow and and direct support on discord 👌🏻
A new day, watching for 5th time... two attempts failed at the creation of the 2nd big tree. They appeared extremely short and without a tip. The force geometry stopped affecting my tree early on. But i know some good coffee and paying extra attention will help! Lets go! Thanks for the tuts!
thanks a lot really appriate it :) please consider becoming a member on patreon for $5 and then you will get acces to my Discord channel for direct help :)
10:49 is a great example of why its so hard to follow. i had to go frame by frame 3 times to figure out what you were editing. "lets increase this amount" and you show 5frames and immediately cut to a different section
@@MOTStudio All in all, this was the first time i used speedtree and i was able to complete your tutorial, though it took me around 3x the amount of time because you were going so fast. I basically had to pause after every adjustment you did, locate the section and setting and then perform the change. Which is okay in itself if you target more advanced users, i just took longer. Plus the parts i mentioned where you just cut too fast so you couldnt catch the change, no matter your experience level. If you would like to target more beginner users, i would suggest taking time to explain settings. Stuff like "what is Skin", "what does parenting do" and so on. It was a lot of small actions, but no explanation why you did them. I have to say though, after finishing the tutorial i gained atleast a beginner understanding of how a tree could be structured, thank you! I can't really use it though, as i was aiming for something gameready. Unfortunately there aren't any high quality tutorials on: reducing poly count, reducing overdraw, packing textures, setting up wind simulations, optimizing LODs or exporting to game engines. Hopefully this made my point more clear :)
Thanks a lot for the feedback! I totally get that the tutorial moved a bit fast, especially if you’re new to SpeedTree. I’ll definitely try to slow down and explain things like "Skin," parenting, and why I’m making certain changes, so it’s clearer for beginners. Glad to hear you got a basic understanding of how trees are structured! I know there’s not much out there on making trees game-ready, like optimizing poly count, packing textures, or exporting to game engines. I’ll keep that in mind for future tutorials and try to cover those topics more. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts-it really helps me improve the content!
I'm so excited in this tutorial big up brother 🎉🎉 BUT I HAVE A QUESTION BECAUSE I WANT TO INSTALL THIS PROGRAM ,THE QUESTION IS , WHEN I INSTALLED THERE IS NO IMPORTANT PLUS,INS FOR THE FIRST TIME PLEASE???
Thank you for this! But it would help beginners if you did not rush through the process and highlighted your mouse cursor so we could better follow along!
Hi! I really like your video! I started working with SpeedTree yesterday. I am learning based on your Tutorial. Could you tell me where I can get this Leaf Material? I can't find my internet anywhere! Thank you very much! ☺
Hell yes. Just what I needed to get back into Speedtree! By the way, is there any GOOD way to mix two trunk textures? Like in scots pine or birches? They say to use the shell, but that's insane to me and looks super bad, not to mention how insane it is 😅
@@MOTStudio i meant the bark of those trees changes from the bottom up, pine sheds the bark to the top and birch is darker and more scale'y near the ground. They both gradually change, and from what I gather there isn't really a good way to do this in Speedtree
it can be done but the tree will look drasticly diffrent , because you will have to create leaf cluster and that create these Clumpy shape but yes it can be done
Hi MOT Studio.. I had a doubt and couldn't find much help. Can Speed tree be used for 3D printing especially with the leaves and stuffs. I know i can model trees in blender but i'm worried about the leaves .. Can you clarify?
Hi ,can you make tutorials on plants for unreal?, what will be the right approach? I try full 3D from ST, i also try to make it from flat textures exported from ST and they look really bad on unreal, i'm trying to make a polypogon fugax plant for arch visualization....thanks for the videos
Really good tutorials, congratulations! Btw, is there any workflow of exporting trees to unreal engine 5? It’s something that I was figuring out, thanks!
there is what you normally do is to create or convert your VFX tree game Tree to use cluster etc that is a upcoming tutorial that i wil be covering :) ,but with Nanite you can probaly use a VFX tree
Love these tutorials, man. The best SpeedTree content I've found. Thanks for the education!

thanks duly noted , will fix this in feture tutorials :)

VERY NICE
Any tutorial for make Dragon Blood Tree ?
Great content! Would be nice with a tutorial on how to export and import into UE5 :D
Keep em coming!
I appreciate your feedback! I'll work on creating a tutorial for exporting and importing in UE5 soon.
Amazing channel, thanks for these great tutorials.
What's the point on doing a non-square leaf cutout?
thanks :) well i use close to leaf opacity as i can because when you enable leaf collisionit dosnt take to much leafs away
Thank you for this! But it would help beginners if you did not rush through the process and highlighted your mouse cursor so we could better follow along!
Thanks for the feedback! I'll make sure to slow down and highlight my cursor in future videos.
Top Class!
VERY GOOD
Thank you! Cheers!

That leaf is just a quixel megascan leaf atlas used 😄

Glad you like it :) what do you mean by mix two texture like a vertical gradiant from scots pine to Birch ?

ill look in to this for a feuture tutorial :)
@@VMP666Hey dude did you find a way 9 months later
Would be great to look at the same tutorial, but with a tris budget like 20k coz it is where the challenge is.
it can be done but the tree will look drasticly diffrent , because you will have to create leaf cluster and that create these Clumpy shape but yes it can be done
I know that, just saying it would be great to see how you do this
there is a tutorial coming to convert a VFX assets to low polly game asset
Oh, cool, I'll check it out for sure
How would I go about making a duplicate of an actual tree. There is an unusual shaped tree that I would like to replicate. Would this tutorial help?
i would suggest to use hand scuplt it with the free hand option in speedtree if your going for A spcific look

that is the pipline to create some tutorials on game ready assests
Thank you. There is a serious lack of quality SpeedTree tutorials. The official documentation leaves much to be desired too.
Anytime 😄 that why i create speedtree tutorials

@@MOTStudio I saw your teaser picture of your next video. You make my day, thanks a lot!
bro please make more tutorial about speedtree start to finish
Like a zero to hero tutorial
When I enable geometry forces all my branches dissapears
itshard to determine with out seeing it :)
For people in the future that have this problem: Turn on mesh in forces area of the trunk. He does it in the next seconds of the video anyways
😍
Thank you ! :)
