We ALL APPRECIATE your authenticity, Martin! Youve inspired me, a 60-something, to start my own youtube channel! All the best from the 🇺🇸USA & Spain.🇪🇸👏🏆
Hi Martin. Thanks for your story. It sounds a little rough, and a little sad. Maybe more than a little. I'd like more detail. It's kind of fascinating. It would be easy to get down about it right but I think taking the attitude like hey it happened and it is what it is and go forward is better than staying down and letting it ruin your life. Plenty of successful people have rough growing up stories, not to minimize your story in any way, and they find a way to succeed despite long odds right. I was adopted around two and a half and have a bit of a rough narrative about how I was handled from birth until then, but talking about it is almost like talking about another person. Fortunately for me I was so young I really don't have memories pre two and a half years whereas you have memories that probably could be really upsetting if you don't put them in the right place, right. Maybe you could divide the stories up and present them like hey I'm gonna talk about my life up until 15 or whatever. Sort of put them in a category. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Chris in Nova Scotia.
I was born, raised and currently live in Wenatchee about 30 miles from your Mothers birthplace Quincy WA. Still a heavy agriculture hub and much more populated than the 1920’s but still retains that small town feel. Quincy is just a stones throw from a world renowned outdoor concert venue called The Gorge. Nice to know a bit more about you.
@@SusanChapman-j6q That is fantastic. I’d love to visit Quincy someday. I’m happy you watched my video and commented and shared your thoughts and experience. Thank you 🙏❤️😃
Good story. Your Mom had quite the rollercoaster life. I sometimes take my stable upbringing for granted - no step-parents, divorces, etc. Speaking of citizenship, sounds like you could try for Norwegian too!
We used to travel to Calgary and Edmonton just for The nightlife. I remember some nightclubs that served three for ones and had all night specials throughout the week and we loved it coming from BC. The '80s were something else.
Sounds like you and your family have encountered many hard knocks through the years. I hope everyone is doing well these days. You have certainly come through it all with resilience, good humor, and compassion for others! Your journey is really inspirational and can provide hope to a lot of people. P.S. New Order rocked...as did Joy Division and so many bands back then. The 70s and 80s were some amazing years for music. Now if you can only unearth some old footage of you and your crew dancing in the club!
Hi Martin After Coffee ☕️ get out in the Road 😮😊in your car 🚙 Wow Interesting 🤔 Story 😮😊about U and your Mom 👩 and All the Family 😊happy and Sad 😞 well have yourself a great day ❤❤❤❤
Very interesting. Thanks for sharing. I am glad you seem stable and have a good wife and life. That means the world. Now we all know where to come for hair cuts! I'm sure she'd oblige for a nominal fee. (I say that b/c I follow the "Makeoverguy" on You Tube and always wanted to go to MN for a session with his team~!) Good channel content. Keep it coming. Well done. Take care out there.
You mention pro wrestling, I was into that back in the 1980’s. I went to a couple WWF events. One time my friend and I had floor seats and threw an ice cube at The Iron Sheik. A security guard came over and blamed my friend and threw him out of the match!
I remember the late 80’s clubs - dancing. I think w all the mental abuse you turned out pretty good there. You overcame and looks like you have it together
I know what you’re talking about things happen and you’re not expecting it. I worked all my life I’ll be 63 but my husband passed away over a year ago unexpectedly. He was only 55 so I’m on Social Security right now and I did get food stamps, but they literally just took it away because the jackass Just went over my case and I pay 260 a month for my Medicare. It comes out automatically they count that as an income where I live maybe the money that I’m actually not getting it so of course the food stamp stopped so I gotta figure out what I’m gonna do. I don’t drive and I thought about somewhere I might be able to go two days a week to work it would help me with food. The little problem I have is I have three dogs. It’s just my one dog that I would have to put in a cage and she’s 10 years old Well realistically leaving her in there for nine hours. That’s not good when my husband was very ill and I was working then going to see him at the hospital. I had to put her in there and I noticed literally I kind of noticed after he passed away she started having hip hip problems and since I don’t have to do that no more she’s doing OK. She’s having other problems but it has nothing to do with her hip so it’s called eating bologna and hot dogs. lol I mean realistically what are you gonna do? I have to see I have certain things I still pay mortgage and I have certain things. I gotta get done to my house before I can sell my house so I’ll probably be here the next three or four years God willing, I’m praying I will be and then I want to move into a senior apartment building. My two dogs will probably be gone by then my other little dog I want to take with me. He’s only three years old. He’ll be four years old in August. I definitely will not go without a dog. It’s just the way I am. It brings me joy. Why would I take that away from myself but like you said you’re not expecting things to happen who would think your husband would die at 55 years old and where I live a lot of people somebody I know one of my cousins lives in Cinderella world where she said just go to the food bank lol well let me tell you where I live. It’s very small the city I’m at and I did have to go there maybe six years ago one time me and my husband and we literally didn’t take nothing and walked out because all they give you is cans of beans that I would never eat and I said no thank you just keep it so I’m gonna go this week cause you can only go once a month. I’m hoping this food bank will be a little different. It’ll be more than beans that I’m never gonna eat I’m hoping and praying but you’re not expecting things. why would I expect that to happen that my food stamps just would stop out of the blue so I know what you’re talking about things happen you’re not expecting my husband got sick very fast literally very fast. Literally it happened overnight and it’s very scary but we still didn’t expect him to pass away and I only have one son and he’s married and he literally just had a baby two weeks ago. I will not tell him this. He don’t need to know this. Do they have money yes they do, but I don’t want their money. He don’t need to know what’s going on he has a very stressful job. I’ll get by on hotdogs and bologna. You do what you Gotta do.
Stampede wrestling was the best. Sad when WWF bought stu heart out. The carachi vise lol. Jr Foley. Dynamite kid . All the names Mike Shaw died 😪 . Abdullla the butcher. Bad news Alan became bad news brown with wwf, did you know Andre the giant pooped on him by accident LOL he was drinking and couldnt hold it while in a match with bad news Allan. You don’t want to be a citizen of this country right now!
Agree.
Martin, wait to see if Canada becomes the 51st state of the US.
When that happens I'm guessing that Alberta will become a county instead of a province.
If Canada becomes the 51st State then I’ll have the right to move to Texas or Florida 😆 Or some other warm State.
