    Damm bro that would off given me a hellq jumpscare 😂, especially when it hit the kayak chasing that kingy.
    Rippa runnies to the decent of the rod.
    But Hella nice kingy you landed.

    Bro crazy episode, great watch! I had a Slammer combo ripped out of my hands by a huge snapper take while I wasn't ready up at North Cape, its so gutting watching your rod hissing away haha.

    Awesome action. I met you briefly when you were parked up at papamoa, i was jogging early with a couple of mates. My garmin striker just died after 5 years abuse. I think your power cable pins just need cleaning.

      Thanks mate. Was cool to meet yah, yea the strikers are pretty hard to kill. The transducer pins just needed a bit of a clean up with a wire brush and it was back in business.

    Great video's, my worst nightmare being on a tiny kayak with a shark chasing a fish...no thanks! It's a wonder you don't feel like a lure sometimes in that big expanse of Ocean.

      hahah thanks bro! fishing from a toothpick is definitely an acquired taste, but its what gets me up in the morning! sometimes I do feel a bit like a lure with all the critters that come up to have a look

      It was a penn warfare 3000 with a Penn squadron 4-8kg reel (loved that combo😭) typically I have a rule not to leash my Rods as the tangles they cause can cause some dangerous situations.. currently prototyping some quick release rod leashes so that I don't need to worry about tangles. Cheers mate

    Dang it! Often wonder, why you don’t leash your rods?

    • @NomadicKayakFishing
      @NomadicKayakFishing  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yep, dang it. I don't leash my Rods because of tangles. If I end up in the water with a kingfish on and a rid leash around my wrist it could quickly go bad. Also when I'm wash fishing I often need to back paddle out of breaking waves , If I tangle a leash around the paddle I could end up on the rocks. I'd rather loose a rod than loose my life

    • @ozzierobbo
      @ozzierobbo 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@NomadicKayakFishing stability with the stealth has never been a issue & fishing for spanish mackerel longtail tuna large (80+cm) snapper & kingfish are about just normally chasing something else lol spoilt for choice...but i have no doubt it could handle it if you ever get the chance to try one i would highly recommend it & nothing beats the peace of mind that my rods gear & catch are well secured below deck if something goes amiss when landing or launching in the surf zone. all the best mate

      @@NomadicKayakFishing goodthing about longtail is they are cleaner fighters than kingies kingies will burry you in the closest bit of structure usually quickly but longtail tend to be about speed & stamina hope you get the chance to experience them 1 day bro ...snapper usually fight dirtier than LT ;)

      yea was a bit of a shame, i dont love having rod leashes as i find they create alot of tangles and can end up doing more harm than good. since loosing that rod i've made up some quick release leashed that can quickly detach from the rod to avoid the tangles. still learning every time i hit the water
