Gutted mate.... that always sucks when they sleigh ride you like that in shallow water..... that kohy got absolutely smoked on the surface!! Fantastic you got the eat on video. Love the keepsake idea... i have all my broken/bent hooks from big fish lost also.

@@NomadicKayakFishing one thing I have tried in the shallows is to winch wind when getting dragged in theory your just pulling the kayak closer to the fish but if you can get the length of leader shorter than the rocks they can’t bust you off… theory that is
Yea the theory is definitely their... but I was winching as fast as I could and it still wasn't enough🤣 I'm wondering if I should of just locked the drag and let him tow me without pulling back. Maybe then they wouldn't get so angry and might just swim to deeper water... but it's just a pipe dream until I hook the next one...

Had a cool experience with a leopard seal off Ohope years ago, he was doing the same head shaking thing to little blue penguins..
That's both awesome and devastating at the same time. I feel kinda bad fir the penguins... nature is brutal💀

Quite unbearably hot in the summer for 4 months but the rest of the year is awesome. You just fish early hours and I do pottery in the afternoon

Why don't you use like a metal string wi'the rig if you go for king fish live bait?
Kingfish don't have teeth and they're leader shy. Use mono trace to get the bite, then it's just a matter of keeping them out of the reef

Hey bro, thanks. Sorry but it's not fair to the locals to tell people about their spots. Finding your own spots is all part of the game, spend some time looking a charts and exploring the ocean and soon you'll have your own secret spots👍
