Been binging your videos man ever since I got into fishing start of this year, gonna hopefully get a kayak setup similiar to yours soon! Keep up the vids skux
You legend bro, just got to my camp, phone on charge flick on Yt to see what's up..and this pops up, that last fish was definitely a beauty aye.. The good ol snap off is gut wrenching at times I feel that one lol. Redeemed and fed..have a good one bro
Chur chur bro. Hope I offered some entertainment after a long day on the road. Where about are u? Pretty hectic idea to walk the country solo. Safe travels bro
@NomadicKayakFishing +For reals bro..beat the bad weather started walking around 4am today just to pump out the last 37km.. I'm in south Taranaki atm bro. Then heading to new plymouth, then onwards to Gisborne. Yeah I hit that mega side quest 😂, got the bug for the adventure. Appreciate the vibes
@NomadicKayakFishing +It'll be a awakening to him lol..he use to be into hunting and motocross then turned into a teenager and got distracted by to much gaming etc.. can't wait to give him an experience of a lifetime..
Awww bloody marvelous Matt. Very Ohhh inspiring 👏 Just read they catching the Odd Zombie snapper up north on the west coast . Thought one you let go had sunken in eyes 👀. Thanks for your eye pleasure. It's very enjoyable.
Cheers aye. Didn't realize about the eyes until u mentioned it, just rewatched the footage... seems to be blind in one eye. Have been seeing a few zombie snapper floating around Instagram recently. Stoked u enjoyed the vid!
@@NomadicKayakFishing seeing things you’ve never seen before makes it all the more valuable than just catching fish. Having fun watching you have fun g keen for the next one 👍👍
So true man, it's the process and the journey to catching the fish that we remember more than the fish itself. What keeps me coming back. Stoked to be able to share the adventures
If I had a van setup like yours I'd do a trip down south. Could fish around Nelson, do some deep drops around Kaikoura and there's some pretty good fishing down in Fiordland. Camping out at the canals around Twizel would be cool as well. Probably more of a late spring or summer trip though.
A lot of the times when the bigger snapper get the softbait far down it just needs to nick their teeth and the leader will snap, seen it happen just as the fish was coming up😂
yep now that u mention it thats definitely a possibility. honestly i think it was the knot that broke, fluorocarbon weakens on the knot after a few fish and i really should have re tied it... will never know
I appreciate the criticism. I do however make all of my thumbnails from still shots within the video in an attempt to tell the story. I see how the scale was a bit misleading. Thanks again hopefully next one will be better
Whale island great videos bro

Nice snapper at 24.00👍 however it seems you forgot the live bait for the real fish, king fish.
Cheers mate, yup I was in a moocher mood this day. But don't worry the next couple episodes have plenty of 'real fish' action for yah
Any plans to try the South Island and target some different species ?
Have been thinking about it, but the northlander in me doesn't do well with the cold😭🤣
