For context, the Gewehr-98 is cock-on-open (meaning the gun recocks itself when the bolt is rotated upwards). A cock-on-close gun (like the Lee-Enfield) means the gun cocks when the bolt is closed, which causes the firing pin to snag on the sear.

From all reloads, only Red Orchestra 2 nails it (when you fire, say, 3 bullets, ejecting shell after each shot, and you reload, one unspent bullet ejects, meaning you must load 4 instead of 3 bullets. Its a good habit if you want to reload your gun is to take a shot, and then reload instead of ejecting the shell in RO2. Also reload is good in BF1, because you put your fingers over a loading port, preventing the unspent shell to eject, although I don't know how much practical was it back then, or was it even possible)
I'd say (in no particular order) that Red Orchestra 2, Day of Defeat: Source, Day of Infamy, and Battlefield 1 (and yes, I know it's a Gewehr 98) did it the best. They had the best details compared to other games, especially the rear of the bolt. You can tell when the sear drops and allows the weapon to fire. And that the firing pin is put back into firing position when the bolt is cycled. Small details like that stand out to me, and I wish more games would add things like that. To be fair, there are quite a few older games in this line-up, and I wouldn't expect that from a lot of those, but it's fun to point those out.

The Bolt carrier keeps it from doing so except for when the Bolt is locked. that's when the Trigger Sear keeps the bolt-cap back, the Safety fin forces itself under the bolt-cap in order to take if off the trigger sear or to keep it off the trigger sear, while allowing bolt movement. the Safety's second position does that plus locks the Bolt from being unlocked. Fin Up means it's down for anything but Violence unless it's packing it's bayonet, Fin pointing Right means it doesn't want Violence like a Righteous Christian wants. nor to be Used at all unless compromised with by setting it back to Fin-up. In my opinion, the K98k/Mauser is the perfect bolt action rifle. The Germans got it all right. There's a reason the M1903 and the Arisaka are essentially copies in different calibers.
Most games show him loading 3 separate rounds back in the weapon when it should be 4 rounds. After the 3rd round is fired he puts the 4th in the chamber then starts the reload animation meaning he ejected the 4th round and must load 4 rounds back in to have a full 5 rounds in the weapon.

Vaso BMW Well, it wouldn't reduce the reload time at all. When you push the rounds into the chamber, you don't have to manually flick the clip out of the way. With Mauser 98's, you can just push the bolt forward and it automatically ejects the clip, hence making it so that the user can simply insert the rounds then push the bolt home.

Medal of honor: airborne KAR98K was, although slow at shooting wow, that gun got some punch! Also, wolfestein (Xbox 360, not the new ones, but not the doom style either) kar98k was just, wow. You needed to upgrade it all the way to be very useful but wow it has power, one shots all day long. :)

wow the brothers in arms k98k sounds like a peashooter im even pretty sure they use the exact soundfile in other games for pistols in other games too, arma 2s 1911 sounds similar for example .

Vaso BMW Well, it wouldn't reduce the reload time at all. When you push the rounds into the chamber, you don't have to manually flick the clip out of the way. With Mauser 98's, you can just push the bolt forward and it automatically ejects the clip, hence making it so that the user can simply insert the rounds then push the bolt home.
I think he meant they didnt throw out the stripper after reloading

Medal of honor: airborne KAR98K was, although slow at shooting wow, that gun got some punch! Also, wolfestein (Xbox 360, not the new ones, but not the doom style either) kar98k was just, wow. You needed to upgrade it all the way to be very useful but wow it has power, one shots all day long. :)
