Two Idiots VS Terraria Calamity Infernum EP. 1: New Beginnings

  • Welcome to the start of another playthrough on this channel! It's been awhile since I've done this. Hope you enjoy!
    Me and my friends make it a sort of tradition to play Terraria at least once a year. With the help of my friends, I was able to finish 3 death mode playthroughs and 1 malice mode playthrough. But A LOT has changed since the last time I played Calamity mod. For starters, Terraria 1.4.4 came out, introducing a bunch of new stuff like shimmer and melee reworks. Secondly, Calamity 2.0 released which made it available in 1.4 Terraria, and was eventually ported to 1.4.4 Terraria; this also introduced a bunch of new changes and reworks. And lastly, at the start of 2023, Calamity Infernum, which was a mod I have been eyeing for years, has become multiplayer compatible (mostly. the devs made it multiplayer compatible, but did not design bosses around multiplayer, so there were a few bugs that were to be expected). This add-on is sort of meant to replace Malice Mode, the previous hardest difficulty in Calamity, and introduces new boss AI, music, biomes, items, and more. With this in mind, this playthrough is pretty much an entirely new experience for the both of us. I hope you enjoy our efforts in trying to finish this playthrough!

    Infernum has some hilarious interactions with multiplayer later on, especially once bosses start "isolating" an area as their arena without making sure all players are inside first

      Yea... phase 2 and 3 attacks of moon lord just didnt do anything to me for some reason lol. Thankfully v2.0.1 fixed a lot so we were able to fight the rest of em mostly as intended (aside from some desperation attacks that just stopped... existing?)

      @@Sogudu I think infernum is a great mod but somewhat inconsistent unfortunately. Prime examples being Wall of Flesh infernum being significantly easier than it's death mode counterpart and skeletron being a touhou bullet hell. Besides that my friends don't all have the best connection so we can't do infernum bosses without them kingcrimsoning around and shit, makes things more "interesting"

      @Jadez1207 Yup i agree. Wall of flesh on malice mode was one of the most satisfying wins we had in a previous playthrough, so for infernum we prepared really hard and just... destroyed it haha. Meanwhile we were malding our asses off for having to sleep for a few minutes each time we die to skeletron

      @@Sogudu The wonders of AlchemistNPC lite, you can skip to the start of night whenever with one of the items, among other QoL features. Cheap and somewhat cheaty yes but I can't play calamity without it and magic storage tbh lol

      @Jadez1207 Same, we just restrict what potions we use to qol and whatever buffs we could realistically have an endless supply of at the time. I can only farm dayblooms and fish so many times without going insane lol. Also didnt know alchemistnpc had a time changer :( But you can bet once hardmode started cosmolight was my best friend
