Thanks for watching, everybody! Keep an eye out for a review on another marching trumpet (and how it compares to this one) coming very soon! Any guesses?
I have the “Tama” variant of this horn. I really enjoy using it for dark Jazz Combo playing, with big mouthpieces, when I don’t wish to play many high notes repeatedly. It doesn’t have the efficiency I personally need to use it in commercial settings, with my lead mouthpiece, I find myself blowing way too hard and gassing myself totally within an hour. My .462 bore Nova allows me much more endurance amd control over many hours, compared to my Tama/Kanstul 103 Coliseum
@@SamuelPlaysBrass1525 is an amazing flugel. The only thing that has kept me from buying one is the outrageous price, and the fact that the stock mouthpipe only takes small-morse flugel mouthpieces (eww!). If I ever acquire one, an aftermarket mouthpipe that takes large-morse taper mouthpieces will be the first thing I get for it.
@@SamuelPlaysBrass I used it in drum corps in 1990. Never really got comfortable with it. The rim is sharp and not very forgiving. Surprisingly, the CG Personal with a deeper V cup but a smaller rim diameter was a better fit. But still not ideal for me.

I love my Kanstul Coliseum model. I also played in Drum Corps my whole life. The 103 model is perfect for me!
It’s good to see you [and your handsome baby face] again. Thanks for the review. I hope you’re doing well.
Saved for later today. 😉
Updated: fun to learn about this horn from clean shaven and no wild hair Sam!
Great video Samuel!😁👍👍
Very cool instrument!
Indeed! Blows unusually but quite nicely.

Very interesting! Sounds like a very different set of findings from mine with this one, though it’s not a Tama variant.
So that DEG II G Euphonium Bugle in the back… When’s the review?
Not functional, unfortunately. I demoed a similar two-valve G euphonium bugle on the channel several years ago, though.
That BD '05 solo tho
An individual of high culture.
Would love a Kanstul flugelhorn review if you can get your hands on one by some miracle
It’ll take a miracle for sure, but I’ll see what I can do. Can’t act like I haven’t been dying to try one.

It came standard with a Claude Gordon 3 (CG3) mouthpiece.
I really like the CG3. A little “tight” for my chops but a very efficient mouthpiece. I’ll be reviewing that one at some point, hopefully.

No, sorry.
