- Had this 2005 VVTI plenum sitting on the shelf for years. I decided to go ahead and swap it onto the truck. I upgraded the stock 4 hole injectors to 12 hole. New plenum is lighter and MIGHT help a bit with low end performance, along with the new injectors. If you have a pre VVTI Tundra, and can find a VVTI plenum and throttle body at a reasonable cost, go for it and grab some new injectors while you're at it from dirtydeedsindu....
Don't expect massive performance gains. But a little front end weight reduction, much easier time getting to the starter, and a little better throttle response is fine with me.
I have the VVTI but I still found this extremely interesting. You are a brave man and you have my respect!
A little constructive criticism near the end when you were explaining what you did with all the hoses the music was super distracting

yes. but you will need a throttle body adapter and slight modification to your radiator inlet. it can be done though. If you want, you can get the adapter, or a fully ready to go plenum from Keith at dirtydeedsindustries.com/

I haven’t made a follow up. If I’m honest, I can’t say I’ve noticed any difference with the new plenum/injectors. Hard for me to say though because so many things were changing when I put them in. Shedding the 30lbs off the front end, from the metal plenum is a win though, and it will make changing out the starter when necessary, much easier. Getting that metal plenum in and out of the bay didnt do my back any favors!
I have always contemplated doing the 12 hole fuel injector upgrade. Also have been interested in the plenum upgrade as well in the past. It seems the plenum doesn’t make much of a difference as you have noted just a weight difference in ease of removal. I was wondering on your take on the 12 hole fuel injectors, is it worth the money? You notice a good amount of throttle response? Or would you say keep on truckin without?... thanks in advance.
My honest opinion, if they are doing anything different than the stock injectors, it’s not enough for me to notice.

@@rasm694so I currently did the 12 hole injectors on my 04 gx470 having some issues with other things but I know what I was getting mileage wise per tank before so I’ll let you know if it helped or had a negative effect

I have a couple of questions
I recently bought a first gen tundra 2002.
1. I want to start mod it and the first mod is going to be to weld the frame first fix and then I want to move to the suspension and I don’t know what type of suspension I want to put I am going to use it for daily driving and take to camping and fishing. I go a lot in the high way but i want to have fun off road sometimes and drift on the dirt what do you recomend to do.
2. And I debating on putting 35 on my tundra something big but not to big .
There are a lot of options for shocks and coilovers, so I’d say do what fits your budget. My advice would be to keep things as close to stock as you can for road manners. Trim, don’t lift, for larger tires.
Any updates on the injector/ manifold swap out? I was going to change out the exhaust, then read why the 2 to 1 merger pipes are smaller, to keep back pressure/scavenging.... Wise they made the 2uz like the 1uz bottom end...
I can’t say I’ve noticed any appreciable difference. Maybe slightly better throttle response, but that may be the coolant bypass, or placebo.
The nicer looking engine bay, and easier to remove (lighter) plenum are really the only benefits I can confidently verify.
have u notice any improvement in throttle respond and low end torque? that's what im after, im not after hp number , i have an 04 sequoia and wanting to do this mod but hard to find review on this .

I did not notice any difference.

Are all younger peeps deaf? My pop worked for decades in an auto body shop with all that bang-bang-bang and high pitch ZZZZZZZZZ noise hours of it all day long took a toll on my father's hearing.
I've hardly ever had my stero blasting, no sub-woofers needed to enjoy the sound of music.

Yeah, TH-cam must have done something with the sound compression when I uploaded this one. Everyone is commenting on the volume but it sounded perfectly fine when I was editing.
