hi ashley! i stumbled upon you on my youtube feed. i just wanna thank you for being so transparent about your journey, especially as an asian-american! i know we live in a very avoidant society full of picturesque documentations where we're living our best lives, tampering the very real feelings of burnout, resentment towards capitalism, and the unmanageable expectations of our culture as a whole, and i appreciate how real you're being. you're not "making it work" like every other content creator here who makes the grind aesthetically pleasing and even enjoys the high demands of modern life. the caption for the subtle, but potent clip of the washing machine, "sometimes i feel like i'm stuck in a washing machine" hit me hard. i can definitely relate, and have been severely burned out too. i have hope that we will find more sustainable ways to live. thank you again for being yourself, doing what you do, and i am also hoping you get everything that you need.

oyyyyy everything you said is so real. i have divorced with the hustle culture, it's just not sustainable for me personally. i hope you take care of yourself and your own feelings of burnout. I've been reading into a lot of articles regarding burnout and it says it can take anywhere from 6 months to over a year to fully recover, which is absolutely terrifying. the best way to go about it is preventative measures + setting up systems to avoid fully burning out to the point of no or slow recovery. thank you for your kind words, hope you're well.

You got this!! As burnout hs student, pursuing the stem field this videos soooo real. Being immersed into the fictional worlds in my books relieves the stress a bit.

Girl, I feel you! I also do design-related work (more client-focused) and have tried to explain that if there is a lot going on during the day, then the design work can only happen after every one signs off. People sometimes think design just happens when there is a lot of thought and trial & error that has to go into it. Anyway lol, all that to say that I can super relate to this and you’re definitely not alone in feeling burnt out. Thank you for sharing this realistic video and hope you are feeling better

wow i've followed you on ig for a while but i'm watching your youtube videos for the first time, and they just feel like.. such a real depiction of life rn for me as well- the guilt from not constantly being on top of all my work across personal and professional projects even though i am working for the majority of my days, cleaning for comfort, jazz as what keeps me going. Just want to say that i appreciate you and have been very comforted by this video! I'm trying hard lately to restructure my life against what feels evolutionarily fit for late stage capitalism lmao and just try removing shame and guilt and setting better boundaries and seeing how different my life can be-- we'll get through this :)
