Facts. I sacrificed my caps lock rights a few years back. I'm so used to holding down shift THE WHOLE TIME I'M TYPING... No more 🙌🏽

Yeah, it’s amazing for most people! But I ran into a problem-by default, pressing Caps Lock acts as the Esc key for me. However, after enabling this feature, a single tap on Caps Lock also turns on Caps Lock.
I love that I can use the right control key as the hyperkey. Instantly switched to this vs my other single purpose software. Thanks!
I've been using raycast basically as a spotlight replacement for over a year. Just in the past month, have I really been using the power of raycast like shortcuts, clipboard history and snippets. Just a GREAT program. Can't wait for Windows so I can use it on my work computer

Nice! Now we just need to be able to remove SHIFT from the Hyper Key, so that we can utilize Hyper Key + SHIFT for even more shortcuts. It's what i'm doing currently, and it works great with Caps Lock as the Hyper Key - please consider this

I’m super glad this is an option now but I wish Raycast also added an option to do “hold vs tap” behavior for hyper key so that I can get ESC when I just tap it.

I love being able to uninstall another application thanks to Raycast! One more suggestion: Let us use Caps Lock as ESC when quickly pressing it. That's how I was using it in Karabiner-Elements.

Fantastic! I just don't get why Hyper isn't just Control+Opt+Cmd, without Shift. That way we could get ANOTHER useful layer by combining the Hyper key with or without Shift.
Can we also enable the shift not included in hyper key as well? Then we get two versions of hyper key to use.
Same here, would be great to unlock a second layer of shortcuts when combining the shift key.

So nice. Love the option to still be able to use the CAPS LOCK. My Hyperkey app had randomly silently crashed every few days recently, and that broke all my shortcuts until I would use the "Kill Process" Ray Cast feature to kill it and reopen. The timing on this feature for me couldn't be better. Here's to hoping it's more stable :)

While on the topic of mimicking other app functionality, it would be pretty nice to utilize the underused Right CMD key like the utility RCMD does for switching apps fast. Best thing that it doesn't require mapping before doing that.

In Extensions settings, would love the ability to filter by just "custom hotkey" as well or let us click the column headers to sort by those :)

This especially useful after Apple messed up option key hotkeys after Sequoia update. I have to use ctrl instead. Now I can think about using hyper shortcuts for apps like Things.

It seems that it doesn't want to work together with Karabiner (I use it to remap single other symbol, but it is very important to me). When Karabiner is active, Raycast tells me that it cannot enable Hyper Key. Is there a way to use both at the same time? Or maybe use Raycast to remap a symbol?
similar issue for me, only with BetterTouchTool, even after I deleted my hyperkey from BTT and restarted it.
I'd love to assign this to the function button!

Does it have less priority than the current window hotkeyx?
I use hyper + left/right arrow to move a window to the left/right half of the string. If I'm on youtube, raycast's hyperkey will not get trigger and when pressing the arrow keys, the youtube video will move progress.

When can I expect a windows release? I have used raycast on mac for a while and loved it, but recently migrated to windows.
We don't have a release date just yet, but we've just recently welcomed a select group of users into an Alpha version of Raycast for Windows. Stay tuned for more updates soon!

I'd like a way to set a key as a Meh Key - such as the § key. I don't use that for anything else.
I just tried, but I'm unable to set Caps Lock as a Hyperkey. All other buttons seem to work fine. Hyperkey did work fine for me using the Hyperkey app.
EDIT: Found the problem... I had for some reason set Caps Lock to be the Globe-key in macOS system settings.
I've been using caps lock as CTRL for nigh on 20 years now, I don't think I'll be unmapping that muscle memory any time soon lol
Its a hangover from my time as an emacs user, very handy considering macOS supports some of the same text navigation shortcuts (ctrl-a, ctrl-e) as emacs does.
Fair enough! Remapping muscle memory takes time and effort, but sometimes it does pay off 💸

After watching your video I changed my shortcuts to use Capslock as hotkey.. It's impossible to write. I noticed that I'm not using shift to make Uppercase, but capslock.. so it triggers Raycast all time.. Changed it back after struggling for few hours :D

Can we also allow the option to use Caps Lock as Hyper if held down for a longer duration, but mapped to escape (or any other key) if pressed once? That's my current setup with Karabiner. Press once to escape but hold and press other key for window management.

You need chords! Hyperkey + F, Hyperkey + F (HK+FF) = Find file, etc.
I will just keep the toggle off. finally caps lock can be used for some real work 🥳

If I could change the tap functionality to something else (esc) then I could actually remove karabiner elements and just use ray cast to do remapping pleaseeeeee

How does raycast implement this under the hood? In other words, is raycast less likely to mess things up than karabiner elements?
We've been polishing this feature for the last few months in order for it to not mess anything up! 😄 Of course, it's always possible for bugs to sneak into a release, so please report them by reaching support@raycast.com in case you find something unexpected.
Love this but, you need to completely disable Karabiner for it to work. Can't use both :(
I've had caps lock mapped to control for ages and I'm not about to unlearn that, but I almost never use my right-cmd key. Seems ripe for a remapping!
nice update! I can't use it tho bc it gives me the following error "Couldn't enable Hyper Key: Quit application

why won't you just use the rcmd solution? use the right cmd or option as the extra key, i.e., differentiate the left and right command key
You can pick Right ⌘ or Right ⌥ from the dropdown to use as Hyper Key, as well as any other modifier key. It's a matter of personal preference ☺️

You could map the Switch Input Source command to ✦ + something and then use Caps Lock as your new Hyper Key 😉

It won't work if I'm using Caps Lock key for switching keyboard languages! When fast pressing Caps Lock key, it will only act like normal Caps Lock key but not switching keyboard language.
Please add a sublayer extension for us power users😊

This seems like a horrible hack. Why bind the Capslock key to other keys which in turn trigger an action? Why not bind the action directly to the capslock key? This does not eliminate conflicts. If an application uses option ctrl cmd shift something, then raycast or the "hyper key" will still cause a conflict.
