- US President Donald Trump has hinted the European Union (EU) could be next to face tariffs, after he applied 25% levies on goods from Mexico and Canada along with an additional 10% tax on imports from China.
Trump told the BBC that tariffs on EU goods imported into the US could happen "pretty soon".
On trade with Britain, he said "The UK is out of line. But I'm sure that one, I think that one, can be worked out."

The UK needs to be wary, we here in Canada thought we had a trade agreement with the US, signed by Trump himself. Turns out that doesn't mean anything to him..
you and mexico had an agreement until you became a vassal for china to bypass sanctions lol get a grip - perhaps begin by no longer locking people out of their bank accounts.
And Canada ACTUALLY has good relationship with the US, we sell them grossly discounted raw materials, oil, energy, water. We've been there by there side for every major war or internal struggle. No country as far as I know had ever had a more peaceable and easy going neighbor as Canada is to the US, and Trump is threatening to rape us.
Don't deal with USA then ,see how that goes for you 😂
If he signed an agreement, and then he broke it you are in for a lot of money in your country

In Canada when an answer was necessary, it is easy to respond with counter tarrifs except lost jobs and transition to new jobs would be a more difficult problem which makes people wonder. What is the crises? It sounds like inefficiency and that America is carrying too much weight. Trade is not equal. It sounds like they are recinding on their economic relationship by forfeiting. The EU is going to look to Russia and now Iran for this sort of treatment because we are just like them to the Americans.
The expansionist threat USA proposing is just like what Russia is doing and that _ME country that cannot be named_ is doing in ME region and countries
It is bad advice to trade with an unstable character.
In his first term, he made USMCA trade agreement with Canada & Mexico, calling it "One of the best ever".
Now, when he wanted to launch tarrifs, he said "We had one of the worst trade agreements ever."

@@JD-yk3wb ...American smugglers take it from Canada into the US; the whole 0.2% of what Americans consume.
Should other countries deport Americans for that ?
@@JD-yk3wb
… and Americans consumes it. WHY??
If Trump imposes tariffs on any country, a unified Economic Defense Coalition (EDC) should respond with automatic reciprocal tariffs from all members, ensuring no nation is targeted alone. If Trump escalates, the EDC should impose a 25% tariff on all U.S. exports, restrict key American industries, and shift trade alliances away from the U.S. To counter economic coercion, the coalition should gradually reduce U.S. dollar dependence, diversify supply chains, and limit investment into U.S. markets. By coordinating economic retaliation and pressuring U.S. businesses and swing-state industries, the EDC can neutralize Trump’s trade bullying, protect global stability, and build a resilient, independent economic system.

F off. Everyone hates America now.
Putting a tariff on the UK feels like kicking a poor wounded puppy at this point. They have other problems.
Ya right. Good luck UK, you're going to need it.
It is astonishing how people don’t know how tariffs works.
Tariffs between countries are a result of years of negotiations. The rock bottom of tariffs are WTO* which are high tariffs, the negotiated tariffs are the better and takes years to negotiate.
*even worse that WTO is being out of WTO like North Korea is.
What Trump is doing is throwing away all those years of negotiations. Means all have to go back to worse positions, all have to be re-negotiated which takes years.
Another thing people don’t understand is, just because USA have lower tariff on import say cars doesn’t mean the counterpart have also same lower tariff on cars, there is no economic value on having same tariffs there is no need to negotiate for something to be same -> instead the negotiations is USA have lower tariff on cars and the counterpart have lower tax when importing orange juice produced in USA.
Negotiated tariffs is like (it is an example):
USA places lower tariff importing cars from UK
UK places lower tariffs importing orange juice from USA
You expect those ingrates to understand anything beyond 1+1.

It would be fair if the US put tariffs on Britain and France first, until they agree to service the trillion in loans they haven’t paid a penny on since 1931.
What loans are you talking about. The only one I can find is a 50 year loan in 1946 which was fully reapid in 1996.
@ Britain borrowed from the US for WWI, with JP Morgan as the lead banker. Hansard confirms the amounts and the rate of interest. By 1964 Hansard notes the loan was increasing beyond Britain’s capacity to pay because no payments had been made since 1931, except a part payment in 1932, Volume 265 May 1965, also confirms the sovereign liability to pay.
Interestingly Britain could offset its loan liability to the US by calling on France to service its loan as agreed by the Churchill-Caillaux Agreement, for which it hasn’t paid a penny to Treasury since 1931.
@@slipperysalmon13indeed
Well I’m not being funny you haven’t paid your enormous debt to France which provided the United States military support firearms and equipment during the war of independence equivalent to 100 million pounds. if you want to go back that far and because the United States refused to pay that debt it triggered the French Revolution and war all across Europe and North Africa. If we’re going to add compound interest and damages then the debt the United States actually owes to France would be staggering.
