Simon, enjoyed your video. Just a thought for you. I was sationed in Germany with the U.S. Army when we changed from "C" rations to MREs. Glad you finally got some cold weather, albeit wet snow, to camp in the lavu and use your nice wood stove. I’m an old vet and have consumed many types of field rations. It’s a comfort to know that they have just enough of all you need, and not always difficult to eat. Oh, yesterday, I watched a YT video about 10 fast street foods of the UK, really looked delicious. Your kit and camera work are quite the chore. Thank you for your planning, preparation and dedicated work. Maggie has been gone a while, now. Was a wonderful cozy experience .... love it .. love the 24 hour ration pack .. looking to get some here in Canada to try them out ....... you to just looked so comfy cozy... i love that you have a floor to put your inflatable bed and everything on rather then the snow covered ground.... Look forward to seeing more hot tenting , you and your woof have me as a new subscriber .. I also wanted to comment on your stove .. its so small and really nicely made.. beautiful ...
Very nice, thanks for sharing. Always interesting to see what sort of kit other campers use or create. The ammo can stove was interesting. Hot chocolate, for some reason the civilian stuff (that I've found) never came up to the level of the hot chocolate in the old "C" rations. One of the biggest treats was a ration that included a can of "John Wayne" cookies and a packet of hot chocolate. Ahhh, life in the field is good. And camping with your dog, hard to beat that.
Ha, a defender! I will subscribe just because of that! I have a Series 3 and spending many nights in the woodland. I don't have such a lovely oven, but I do have a warm dog as a blanket, he, he...
Thanks Neesie, I’ll have to take a look at those! I’m planning on adding a baffle to the flue to slow down the burn rate - might make it last longer between fill-ups! Cheers, Simon
I guess the thing with the British Army ration packs are that if it could be possibly the "last meal" you could be eating out during combat it better make you feel damn happy. Great stuff mate, happy camping!

Great vid, love the winter camping. I have two Weiner dogs, never mind curling up in a ball in the corner, they just burrow into my bag at night. LOL #dachshund
Free heat! 😁👍
Great video Simon. Hi Maggie! That food looked good.
Thank you and thanks for the sub! 👍
When the wood is damp i pre dry wood out as i am going along on top of the stove then it burns like crazy
I've had my curry...I've had my...Maple bun, I've had my oat bar with Nutella now let me just eat this dog right quick

Bacon grill, oatmeal blocks and hot chocolate were always a favourite in the older style Brit ration packs. 😋
Ha, a defender! I will subscribe just because of that! I have a Series 3 and spending many nights in the woodland. I don't have such a lovely oven, but I do have a warm dog as a blanket, he, he...
good video

Cheers Garry, oh, yes, love me lavvu! Thanks for the sub! Atb, Simon.
Have you looked into a portable rocket stove?
Pretty cool.
Heats up FAST using very little wood. :)
Wow I think I saw you process wood before. You make it look so easy when I know it's hard work.
I know I am learning a lot. Thank you
Well at least there's good entertainment in a survival package and keep you from getting to bored haha 😂😂😂
