Bts THE rappers in kpop, they fr REAL rappers. In the kpop industry, some members in some other groups just be placed with the title as a “rapper” bcs of their inability to carry out well in any other position. What you heard from bts was nothing to what they really capable of. The rapline consisting of Rm, Suga and Jhope are really unique to their own, but all posses to the ability to incorporate great lyricism and flows. Their knowledge and appreciation of the hip hop culture and history plays a huge roll on them aswell. They make sure to show homage to those who inspired/ continue to inspire them in their music, giving them shout outs and what not. Their solo work as well as what they present as a team really proves that they have real love and a deep connection for the hip hop culture and don’t see it as an aesthetic, as some kpop rappers tend to do. Thank you for your reaction! Don't worry: we already know the Jimin effect. There are some funny vids about it, too. "Fake Love" is complicated. I think there is a vid from them filming this, too. The song and MV are leaning on 2 (!) storylines. 1. The BU (= Bangtan Universe) that consists of MVs (Korean AND Japanese), On Stage: Prologue, short films, Notes/books, a webtoon (Save Me), a mobile game (I think it ceased existing last year 😥) and we are getting a K-Drama nicknamed "Youth". It's a story on it's own and complicated. The fire, water and snickers represent trauma in that story but there are also other elements that belong firmly into the BU. 2. BTS does concept albums over multiple albums. "Fake Love" is from the second album of the "Love Yourself"-series: "LY: Tear" It's about a relationship that funnily doesn't even need to be romantic (it can be family or friends, even one self, etc., too) and builts over the first album with the first problem already occuring at the end of it. But in "Fake Love" we go from "I don't know why" to "I just know why" and the relationship breaks. The problem is NOT the other person but you who has pretended to be someone else to fullfill someone else idea of what a perfect partner/relationship should be. You have lost yourself in the relationship and refused to aknowledge why it was hurting. BTS made a "Highlight Reel" to it (also part of the BU) in which we see how relationships can go wrong. Jin has found a diary of a girl and used it to fullfill her wishes because he liked her. It did not work out in the long run as we can see in the third album of the series with "Epiphany" which holds the answer why it did not work. Communication problems often begin with oneself and not only others. I mean how can someone love us if they don't have a chance to know us? Self-Love is a journey. The way I see it BTS has told Army a "coming of age" story under a lot of different aspects: social/school, youth under hardship, literature (with aspects of philosophy & psychology), Self-Love and to "love yourself" you need to "know yourself": psychology (Carl Jung) If you have not seen Taylor Mari's intro yet: Bangtan 7 can help with basics (she is working on an update) You nice!
