This video is part of the BTS Universe(BU). It's a tragic fictional story that runs throughout their music videos so there's a few things that wouldn't make sense unless you watched them in order and/or know about the story.
Example (also a tiny spoiler):
The reason why J-Hope was laying on Snicker bars is because when his character in the BU was a boy, his mother brought him to a carousel in an amusement park, gave him a Snickers, told him to close his eyes and count to 10. When he opened his eyes, his mother was gone.

It's a part of bangtan Universe(their storyline) so it's gonna be a bit hard for you guys to understand some their MVs. These types of MVs are marked as BU content. No CGI is used even in scenes like jungkook running and blocks falling,suga sitting infront of fire, Jin in between explosion, Jimin in between water.
They did a little bit of cgi on suga’s part to make na the fire bigger.if not i’d be worried for suga’s safety🙄🥺

Fun fact, when Jungkook runs through the hallway and the floor is falling, that was set up. No green screen, no digital affects, the floor actually fell. Same with when jimin is standing In that room and water starts pouring out. That actually happened. They have behind the scenes videos if you want to see it.

I just want to say this: if you like the BTS videos, nothing will prepare you for the 2019 and 2018 MMA performances. Forget everyrhing was done before and prepare your minds, because it will be blown away. Its another level live, another planet.

Rise of Bangtan series is such a good TH-cam documentary that’ll explain EVERYTHING. Totally recommend
edit: all of the music videos tie together to write a story, it’s part of the bts universe- so yep everything has meaning even the snickers lol. The updated version of the explanation of the bts universe by xceleste is perfect to watch to get caught up.
Quick fact almost everything in their videos is actually sets and stunt work, it’s rarely cgi :)
ONE LAST THING; the song is focusing on the person itself that changes themselves for someone else, and that they wear that fake mask to be perfect for someone- meaning in the end the fake love is actually towards themselves for not being true to themselves and who they really are. Bts actually really focus on the love yourself campaign that they talk about often within songs and in general.

Fake love was my first BTS song I ever heard on the radio in 2018. I had no idea who they were but I bopped with the song. I didn't even become an ARMY after that, I became army in 2020. Fake love will always be special to me and my top song by them for the sole reason that it brought me to BTS and it is such a good song !!! I just love the production on the song and how explosive in nature it is!
My first was Mic Drop also in 2018, then I fell hard down the BTS rabbit hole, been stuck down here ever since!!
You'll probably change your favorites the more you watch vids of them until you realize you like everything lol.
Anyway, please do 'Blood Sweat and Tears', it was based from a psychological book 'Demian: The Story of Emil Sinclair's Youth' by Herman Hesse and it was kinda dark as it talks about temptation in general.
Also 'Black Swan' kinda classy that tells the story of a dancer, an artist, who fears the death of their career: the moment when they can no longer perform on stage
and 'ON' talks about their sacrifices and struggles, the mv has a lot of symbolism which you'll find some of it is connected to some popular films

It means we must go through our share of pain by letting go and be reborn again. The pent up hurt and anger must be let out for us to be really free. One must not hold back and pretend to be strong. At the end opening door you see Save Me on the wall if you turn it around is says I'm Fine - the title of 2 other songs on the album. Their albums are collages

This MV is a continuation of the story line, which was why some of it didn't make sense to you. They also do not use green screen and if you watch the behind the scenes can see the sets are all real! right? the song arrangement is epic. there are like 2 different refrains versus the conventional flow of songs of stanza, refrain, chorus, stanza, bridge or refrain, then back to chorus. this song took an entirely different route yet still remains so catchy is such a genius song arrangement. plus of course the lyricism, messaging, and the crazy choreo and music video. 💜 there's an explanation video for this.
