Let's face it RM is a genius and his lyrics are poetry. So like poetry it holds the potential for multiple meanings. RM will have considered all of them. That's what he does. So on a superficial level it's about a toxic relationship. However that could also be any kind of relationship with fame, ambition, the spotlight. I think its all of them. I think the whole song is a double. Every single person's voice in this was so beautiful it makes me want to cry. The choreo, cinematography, the music ,......its all a straight up a masterpiece. One thing that is never discussed is the genius way all BTS members collaborate with each other and other artists and producers. You never hear horror stories, like "I never want to work with them again". No, instead people fall in love with them as people, be it Halsey or Chris Martin. This lack of ego that allows each artist to shine means they will always have willing collaborators. They manage the difficult balancing act of striving for excellence without becoming autocratic when working with others not used to their punishingly hard work ethic.
RM said this song could be about any relationship, even with yourself. I think he took it from several angles. If this video wasn't my first intro to BTS i am not sure if i would have gone down the rabbit hole. I fell in love with this song immediately and the video blew me away.
Not saying Alex and Evan aren’t catching on to the lyrics or the bu, but when Jake made the connection for Sugas part! That had me jumping in my seat bc no one who follows the storyline ever notices lol. Jake’s inner Suga bias is showing 🤣 since you already reacted to the MV there is a rock version of fake love, it’s called fake love (extended ver.). You should check it out on your own time, I doubt Vivs will mind!😁
So much to interpret in the choreo - like when Jimin controls them like puppets. And during the chorus, their hands cover their mouth, ears, eyes - speak, hear, see no evil. Another frequent theme about society making thing's like mental health taboo, in favour of always presenting a positive front.
This 💜 I don't see this enough on 'Fake Love' reactions. Since that is one things that stuck with me and the small details makes you appreciate it more, every little move, prop, scene.. Such dept 💜
12:20 behind him it says *Save Me* but he's looking into a mirror which reflects the opposite. When u invert that it says *I'm fine* which is basically what they're showing on the outside but inside they're crying for help
I’m really surprised y’all haven’t reacted to this before now. They performed this live ALOT and it’s always AMAZING. JK’s abs were trending after the American Music Awards performance. 😊 And yes, BTS lyrics are deeper than the initial meaning.
Fake love is such a beautiful song. Fake love is a song that you just have to see live because not only is the song beautiful but the choreography is amazing. Keep up the reactions y’all ❤️
The candy bars play a HEAVY role in J-hope's character's storyline in the BU. It's actually quite a heartbreaking thing for his character.💜 So when you see J-hope with a candy bar it's not actually happy.
Jack.. You got it right, fake love is when you pretend at the deepest level, when you lie to yourself and change who you are to please others saying it's because you live them... You do all to please the others and forget about yourself
I know you guys are already tired of hearing about the BU but much of the symbolism in this is related to the BU. The fire, The water, Snickers, etc. are all related to each member's character in the BU. Can't wait until Vivs determines that it's time for XCelest's deep dive into the BU video. It's probably going to be a long one because you guys will have to dissect that one a lot.
This song holds a very special place in my heart. This is the very first BTS song I ever heard. It's what made me ARMY. Like you guys I was so blown away by the quality of the music and the video itself. I actually watched it twice that first time because I was sucked in to the video, that I payed no attention to the lyrics. I focused on the lyrics in the second watch. I actually do this for most of the K-Pop music videos that I watch. I watch the video itself first, then go back and focus on the lyrics. Great reaction from you guys as always. And thank you for loving BTS like we do, Borahae!
Fake love Live at the Billboard Music Awards is a must to watch. Army killed it shouting the chorus 😅 This music is part of the 17 BTS BU story line songs. They are all linked together (Save me, I am Fine, Stigma, First Love, I need you, Blood Sweat and Tears, Mama, Lie, Run, Reflection, Young Forever, Film Out, Begin, Awake, Epiphany, Euphoria). Fun fact: take a pic from the words Save Me in the mirror and put the pic upside down 😅
That live performance at Billboard was a historic moment & many future army saw them from that performance. I can't however go back after watching their Comeback Stage performance on some Korean music shows& Korean award show performances like MMA or MAMA. It really shows how advanced the Korean camera directing usually is and how lacking the American award shows are. Even when comparing the camera work of the American award show with other western artists that performed that night both Billboard & AMA showed way more audience shots then the stage with BTS even compared to the other artists. It still was an iconic moment for them of course but the deeper down the rabbit hole you go you experience a realization of how different they were treated by the western industry and still are, it opens your eyes up to some unpleasant realities sadly.
You are absolutely right that they don’t phone anything in. Even when they’ve made silly songs they put BTS quality into it making it perfect (looking at things like Spine Breaker, Okutsare, Super Tuna). 7 perfectionists who all have incredible work ethic and vision. The live stages of this were all different and creative (thinking Mama and MMA especially) on a level above anything anyone performed.
I hope someone told em but if no one did i will... Its about the water scene with Jimin and the fire scene with Suga... They were not CGI... They were real... Real water falling and real fire started there...
There’s an extended version of this as well. It adds a bit more imagery and the instrumental is different- more of a rock vibe. It’s worth watching as well!
I love reacting to people listening to Fake Love for the first time. Fake Love was the first music video of BTS I watched and made me fall down the BTS rabbit hole. It's what I call my ARMY song because it made me a fan of the boys. It's literally just so good; and its definitely emo rap, thats what drew me in the most.
Tenéis que ver Fake love en vivo! Es una locura , la hicieron en la ceremonia de premios de los MAMA 2018! Puffff! Os volará la cabeza de principio a fin! Añadieron mas cosas que te mantienen intrigado antes y después de la canción! Locura maxima!
My favorite bts song (I like them all, but this is definitely my favorite). I like the beat, the lyrics and everything (It's all good), my favorite part of the song is that duo of Namjoon and JungKook. This song shows RM's intelligence, creativity, musicality and talent... No wonder he's the best leader.
Guys, if you appreciate their choreography you might like to watch a dance practice. They have tons of videos where there’s only them in the studio dancing with a steady camera. It’s very cool! And you can see the whole choreography 💜
Amazing reaction as always and this song was one of the first live performances I saw of BTS and it got me excited to learn about them and to listen to more of their songs. 💜💜💜
Woohoo!🎉 So glad you guys loved this, this MV & song made me an army. I love the lyrics, super poetic & deep. You guys are gonna love the dance practice this is one of my favorite choreo's and that's hard to say because they have so many. The Behind the Scenes MV Shooting is so cool, it's really impressive the sets they built. They built the collapsing floor set & JK was on a wire for safety reasons but it's so cool that the majority of this is practical effects. Jimin's scene with the water is also crazy impressive. If you remember in the wings short film we see images of a bathtub and water. And with Suga the piano plus the fire. J-Hope with the snickers bars (he has a traumatic tragic BU backstory related to it). RM with remnants of a shipping container. There's a ton more like that just in this one MV. There is an extended version of the MV that has even more BU related imagery and uses the "Fake Love (Rocking Vibe Mix)" of the song, I love both versions of the song. "Euphoria: Theme of Love Yourself" MV should probably be next which is a JK solo song , it technically came out before Singularity but I don't think it will be an issue reacting to it next. Then "Epiphany Comeback Trailer" MV which is a solo song by Jin tho it's an abridged or shortened version of the song Then " IDOL MV". I don't wanna give too much a way but I have lots of thoughts on that MV.
The quality of everything BTS does is always Top.. this is one of my favorite the lyrics are so deep and the choreography .. everything .. you should watch the live versión too
For me the lyrics are pointing out that when you put someone else’s needs before yours and you mask all your wishes and pains, you’re not actually showing up in the relationship. You’re not being yourself, you’re not showing a true face, so it’s fake and eventually the person who’s in the relationship is nothing like your true self, it’s just a shell of a person who doesn’t know who’s in the mirror. It could also be about a toxic relationship, where the other person moulds you to be whoever they want, make you fulfil their dreams and don’t make space for your vulnerability and your real self and needs until you don’t know who you are and you eventually realise it’s not real
Thank you, Evan for knowing nothing is ever simple with lyrics that RM writes. 🤪The layers of this video is immense and has to do with BU again. See explanation videos. The lyrics are also multi-layered of course, as is everything RM writes... which is most of their songs. Surface level could be a typical romantic relationship, but you have to remember, most of their songs are for army rather than romantic relationships. There is always a surface level for anyone who doesn't care to think much but there is always more for those who do. Very rewarding to be army and know all the depths. In the book they recently released for their 10th anniversary they revealed Fake Love had to do with what they were showing ARMY because the rigor of their lives and intensity was so hard and so much that it didn't feel beautiful. But they put on a mask and pretended everything was fine for us. But they also said at the same time, as they went through the production for this, they realized doing so made them understand themselves more and helped them actually become a better version of themselves. They said they maybe grew the most during this song. Also, where he has it written on the glass behind him in the cell phone electronic tunnel that says SAVE ME. The way they wrote it, when turned upside down says I'm Fine. Both of these songs are on the follow up and final album of the Love Yourself trilogy, Answer. They did a music show where they performed the two back to back and the camera showed the visual until it flipped over into I'm fine. So cool how they are aware of everything and design everything down to the smaller details most of us miss. They also don't use much green screen or ai stuff. So when the floor was falling JK actually did that. And the water, and fire. There is a behind the scenes film for almost everyone of their mvs you could also look at those too for fun. Also enjoying how every video you guys are saying something about is the best you've seen so far... that's literally because they only ever seem to get better, work harder, and grow in their artistry, their intensity or their subtlety, their flows, their choreo, their everything. It is wild. And again... I mostly refer to them live rather than mvs, which are just all fire. Period. But to be live and impeccable, I think speaks volumes. Oh... and waiting for anything live. But Airplane Pt 2 and Persona are coming up and are two of my top 10 BTS. Why aren't you guys doing all the mv's in order though? Vivs isn't giving you Rap Monster, Do You, Joke, Give It to Me, Change (with Wale) - one of my all time faves as well, Come Back Home, JHope's Airplane. Etc. All of these are part of the mv's if you are following the mv list in the timeline you have just passed over. I assume you will come back to these too, but just confused as to why not do all their mv's in order since that's what I thought you guys were doing?
I believe they mentioned in previous vids they are doing BTS official MV's specifically and will go back to do solo mixtape MV's or other MV's later. I was actually surprised how many lists people post online that are missing something or get things out of order like I completely didn't realize the list I had saved someone posted had JK's Euphoria MV placed later on but the date of release shows it came out less then a month before V's Singularity MV did. They have so many MV's it's kinda crazy & don't get me started on how much music these guys actually put out. I recently watched Boracity Magazine's introduction to chapter 1 discography and there was songs on there that I still didn't know about after almost 6 yrs being army lol.
@@Cypher0613ddaeng their discography fr! Always finding things i missed. It is a daunting task. Wish they could enjoy more like at least a live with the mv. They are missing the best part of them. Hopefully they will continue long enough to explore it some day. Enjoyed your reply. Have a great day ARMY. 🫂💜
As with everything BTS related, there's layers of story and meaning in their song lyrics, MVs, and performances. To get the full meaning behind this song and MV plus the other songs in the album trilogy I recommend watching "BTS Storyline Explained-2020 Update" by x Celeste Thanks for the reactions!
It refers to any kind of toxic relationship, be it a loving one, professional one, any kind of. The dicotomy of idealizing love , ( the flower), and it is going to change as any kind does in life. As the love, ( flier) could not be preserved inside the glass , could not be preserved as it was because love is a idealization.
ENjoying yall's reactions to these guys. I was surprised when i accidentally fell into the BTS Rabbit Hole during the pandemic. So much to enjoy. Subbed.
On a less serious note, one of the things ARMYs also love about this song aside from the lyrics is whenever Jungkook shows us his abs during live performances. Haha. It's actually part of the choreo, and the cameraman knows when to focus on that body part. If you watch live performances, the cheers in the crowd erupts at that moment. 😀
Hello. This is my first comment. Thank you for all your wonderful videos. I am a Japanese ARMY. My English is not good, so I'm sorry if there are some mistakes in this text. I love and admire the way you three always take the time to watch the videos and read the lyrics seriously. I love the respect you have for foreign languages and the sincerity with which you approach them. If you don't mind, please take up the music video and dance practice for "ON". I would love to see the reactions and perspectives of you three. Thank you very much. Thanks for reading.
Guys i love your reactions. Please react to bts live performances i think you guys will love it for sure. By watching live performances you will know bts more how much they work hard for there fans(army). 💜 💜💜💜
"Love can be as perfect as love itself" literally referring to how they wish that real love can be as perfect as love how its potrayed in love stories that they have read of forever love .
Much of the imagery in this MV relates to the BU (Bangtan Universe). You were right about the relationship SUGA had with the piano and guitar. It also relates to his character in the BU story. Keep digging, guys. There are lots of Easter eggs in their MVs! Welcome to the Bangtan Universe! 💜
I had heard and enjoyed a few BTS songs, but Fake Love was the one that stopped me on my tracks and got me to really pay attention and look deeper into the group. This song’s lyrics blew me away. Down the rabbit I went led by seven gorgeous piped pipers. (Look up their song Pied Piper if you haven’t done so - they KNOW what’s up 😅). Soon afterwards Lie and The Truth Untold sealed the deal for me and I haven’t looked back. The overall positive effect of their music, messages and personalities on my mental health has been swift and noticeable.
Hey Two and A Half Brothers!!! I have been watching through your series and really love how y'all started at the beginning!! As an ARMY who is still learning so much, watching someone else new start at a different place from me with your mod to guide you is amazing!!!! I am learning so much from y'all!! Fake Love is the very first song that I ever saw or heard. I connected with it because of the live performance at the 2019 GDA performance. Will y'all move into live performances? But I agree this song for me is THE song. I rotate through a couple others but point to this turning me into ARMY!
you definitely have to watch „The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS (2023 Update!)" by rice squad. Although it is a slightly longer video, it is very informative and you can then put yourself in the shoes of the members a little better and get to know their story. I would be very happy if you make a video in which you react to these Video, I love your reaction to BTS 😊😊
Wait until you get to Magic Shop!! The lyrics and it was wrote by JK to ARMY. That one is best live. Magic Shop is the song that saved my life and made me an ARMY! That is my HOME! But I love this song as well!!💜💜💜
Faje love is that song that you should start with, when you want toake someone interested in BTS, works on people who love absolutely any genre - verified on multiple friends who forst scoffed at bts
En vivo en los MMA2018 please! No se bloquea lo hacen muchos reactores! Muchas gracias! Gracias chicos! Esperando vuestra próxima reacción a BTS! 💜
It's like you changed yourself to be everything your lover wants that you can't recognize yourself. Then the person who you changed for says they can't recognize you, or don't know who you r as you changed from who they love. And you r saying but I changed just for you. I look in the mirror I ask myself who r you. Now you say you wanted me to be this person, now I am, n you don't know me? It's fake love. This is literally the breakup phase of the of love yourself. DNA was the start of course. Everything was bright and sugar rush.
Love your reactions. Thank you. You should check out the MV Sketch video as well as the Fake Love Extended Version. Alex you talk of Emo Rap the extended version is the full on rock version and will blow you away. I knew I subcribed for a reason. Jake mentioned a mask. You will definitely see just how accurate he is in the exteded version.
I think that in order for you to capture everything that this conceptual work of Bts entails, which is distributed as in 3 to 4 albums, you have to rely on Demian's book and the psychology of Carl Jung, the main point of the context is a journey to the personal self-realization, leave aside your innocent world and go out to know the good and the bad that there is in the world. BTS represents it in their videos from objects and figures with symbols and from their own individual concepts, each one representing a personality of Jin who is the one who makes the journey of personal self-realization. In Spanish there is a very good analysis of all this conceptual work, I suppose that in English they must also have an analysis. In fact, what these concept albums are based on is the same thing that the band Tool was based on to make their album Aenima.
Shoutout to RM for writing such an amzing song !!!

it's clear now that we're in the same boat, friends because you are now making connections between other eras congratulations 🎊
Btw, the falling floor, the water falling on Jimin and the fire on Suga’s room are real. The didn’t use CGI

Fake love 💎🙌
As with everything BTS related, there's layers of story and meaning in their song lyrics, MVs, and performances. To get the full meaning behind this song and MV plus the other songs in the album trilogy I recommend watching "BTS Storyline Explained-2020 Update" by x Celeste
Thanks for the reactions!
Jake, you're awesome!!! ❤
I love your insights into their messages 💜 I wish love was as perfect as love is!!! Such a line!
ENjoying yall's reactions to these guys. I was surprised when i accidentally fell into the BTS Rabbit Hole during the pandemic. So much to enjoy. Subbed.
I would like you to see the live performances of all these songs. They demonstrate their abilities to dance and sing at the same time.
I miss this era with all the symbolism💜💜💜
Muy buenas vuestras impresiones del vídeo, totalmente de acuerdo. Y me encanta vuestra naturalidad y bromas entre hermanos/primos! 💜😅👌🏼
Watch the live performance
Y'all really need to watch some live performances. Even more impressive imo.
Felicitări BTS cei mai talentați frumoși perfecți ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am excited for you guys to check out their live performances after your music video journey haha
Deep voice of V hits different ❤
On a less serious note, one of the things ARMYs also love about this song aside from the lyrics is whenever Jungkook shows us his abs during live performances. Haha. It's actually part of the choreo, and the cameraman knows when to focus on that body part. If you watch live performances, the cheers in the crowd erupts at that moment. 😀
There’s a rock version of this song. It’s great!
Our prince tempting gorgeous so love😌💎👑💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
Thank you for liking my comment 😊 ☺️
"Love can be as perfect as love itself" literally referring to how they wish that real love can be as perfect as love how its potrayed in love stories that they have read of forever love .
BTS E O MELHOR GRUPO ❤
Much of the imagery in this MV relates to the BU (Bangtan Universe). You were right about the relationship SUGA had with the piano and guitar. It also relates to his character in the BU story. Keep digging, guys. There are lots of Easter eggs in their MVs! Welcome to the Bangtan Universe! 💜
I love this song
You need to watch a live performance and dance practice. You will really see the choreo much better.
Yeah right 💜💜
You should find connections between the trailers and the main title track.
Serendipity and DNA
Singularity and Fake love
you definitely have to watch „The Most Beautiful Life Goes On: A Story of BTS (2023 Update!)" by rice squad. Although it is a slightly longer video, it is very informative and you can then put yourself in the shoes of the members a little better and get to know their story. I would be very happy if you make a video in which you react to these Video, I love your reaction to BTS 😊😊
Love your guys reaction 😃. I am so enjoying your appreciation of the boys 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
LOVE IT💜💜💜
This video is related to both the Bangtan Universe-BU and the conceptual line of Jungian Psychology.
Both conceptual lines to burst neurons.
Wait until you get to Magic Shop!! The lyrics and it was wrote by JK to ARMY. That one is best live. Magic Shop is the song that saved my life and made me an ARMY! That is my HOME! But I love this song as well!!💜💜💜

En vivo en los MMA2018 please! No se bloquea lo hacen muchos reactores! Muchas gracias! Gracias chicos! Esperando vuestra próxima reacción a BTS! 💜
Tienen que ver el detrás de cámara, todos lo videos musicales de BTS lo tienen.
Yeaaaas❤
It's like you changed yourself to be everything your lover wants that you can't recognize yourself. Then the person who you changed for says they can't recognize you, or don't know who you r as you changed from who they love. And you r saying but I changed just for you. I look in the mirror I ask myself who r you. Now you say you wanted me to be this person, now I am, n you don't know me? It's fake love. This is literally the breakup phase of the of love yourself. DNA was the start of course. Everything was bright and sugar rush.
I love you guuuysssssss💜💜💜💜💜
Thanks guys! 💜
hope you guys watch the BTS ‘love yourself highlight reels’, the continuation of BU
wait till you see BLACK SWAN and ON
Please, react to BTS TEAR rap line, it's from the same album! Brazil Here!
💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
