Victrix- Let's tear open a giant bag of ancient Dacians!

- I was a bit taken aback to see my Dacians arrived in a plastic baggie versus a typical box of minis.
That's the way a lot of these Victrix sets arrive, so let's just roll with it!
The Dacians are one of the best bang for your buck when it comes to the Victrix kits. A lot of their sets focus on a specific type of troop, whereas this set has just about everything you need. Spearmen, swordsmen, falxmen, nobles, armored nobles, command units, and archers as well... it's all in this box... err, bag.
One of these sets can probably get you started with a good chunk of a historical rank and file army, or split it with a friend to have more than enough for warbands for both of you for a variety of gaming systems. With the way these guys are designed, they are quite easy to convert and mix with all sorts of similarly sized figures. Plus, heck, even on their own, they're really nicely sculpted models and look really coo!

Think i'm sold! Been tryin to figure out the best Victrix kits for kitbashing a distinctive human Oathmark empire.
Definitely the Dacians. The fact that you have ranged and a variety of close combat types gives this kit the edge in my opinion.
You could even get really ambitious and mix some Gaul bits in there, or use some of the armored Gaul bodies to make heavy infantry.
Awesome kit! What have you used them for? (or plan to)
My original plan was for SPQR from Warlord or Osprey's Broken Legions.
Considering their options for weaponry they make a good "normal" human warband for a lot of gaming systems.
@@ObscuritiesinMiniature Nice! I was thinking of them for SPQR too, I'm writing a custom ruleset for skirmish games as well so I might write them into that (not just as an excuse to buy this awesome kit or anything lol)

Outside of eBay sellers who carry their stuff, Badger Games is probably the place I'd suggest. They seem to get restocked somewhat regularly, are quite reliable, and carry quite a few other lines I'm sure you're familiar with, being that they're the stockist/ supplier for Frostgrave/ Northstar here in the states.

Another option is Michigan Toy Soldier company, michtoy.com. They are local to me but ship wherever, and they carry Victrix, Perry, Frostgrave, and other stuff. Plus a full range of supplies, from basing to assembly to painting.
