you forgot to mention that without the adhesive, the snap will remain stuck on the magsafe charger/adaptor every time you lift your phone off of it. The magnet is too strong and sticks to magsafe stronger than sticking to your phone. So you have to use the adhesive if you are planning to use magsafe with this.
This happed to me today as well. It got a bit warm. This seemed to make the adhesive soft. So when trying to remove from the MagSafe. It started to come off the phone case. 😑
thats my question. I wont use adhesive. i have to take off all the time to put into tripods, etc. also, if i don't use adhesive and stick to metal surface, will it stay?@@KRUSTYskates
This thing is really useful for magnetizing my phone to the metal walls of the bathroom stall at work when watching TH-cam videos while pooping on the clock.
If you take a 10-minute poop everyday while on the clock it equates to 43 hours of being paid to shit. I once asked my employer for an extra week of paid vacation with a promise if only use the restroom on breaks. He denied me. I kept shitting on the clock 😂
Thanks for watching and commenting! I appreciate, that you appreciate this style of video. As I am tired of seeing so many unnecessarily looooonnnngggg review videos. 😁 👍
I got the Ohsnap 3 Pro a few months back after using the 2 for years and then the 4 Luxe was announced just a couple days later. I love the improvements they made, but bumping the price up even more was a bit much. $30 for the 3 Pro already made it one of the most expensive grips you could buy. Meanwhile the 4 Luxe ends up coming out to nearly $50 after tax and shipping. Kind of wild that they still charge $5.95 shipping for something that already seems overpriced and can fit in an envelope.
Great video and review. I have Ohsnap on all my phones with MagSafe, and it's freaking awesome. You have to have the adhesive tho, or it will stick to your charger and come off your phone, but wash the adhesive in water and let it dry and it's good to go again. I love my Ohsnap, I'm just a customer, but they are great.
Great video! I have had mine for about 2 weeks and love using it in the gym for the magnet to check on my form without propping it up and the grip when my hands get sweaty. The scissor mechanism doesn't feel as sturdy when I first got it, and that's the only thing that worries me.
Thank you!!!! Much appreciated… That is my favorite feature as well! The scissor mechanism has actually gotten more comfortable for me. Now that I have gotten more used to it. Some one said it is supposed to last a “million” pulls. 👍
@@Artismiait won’t. I’m on my second OhSnap 3. First one had a leg break. Second one had adhesive come off of half of the part that sticks to the disk and the actual disk is broken in half. Amazing product, extremely short lifespan.
I've had mine for 3 weeks, and it already won't close properly. I think this is a cheap piece of crap. I'm really angry at myself for falling for this ripoff.
Yes. I have been using it over a week now. And I gotta say it is nicer than I thought. It’s actually quite comfortable to hold. It has taken some time to get used to. But I like it!
@ Yes. My favorite feature is the ability to magnetically attach the phone to any thing metal. It is still functional. Have had no issues with it. Other than the visible wearing of the paint/coating from going in and out of my pocket.
Thanks for the review! I saw an add for this yesterday's and have always wanted something less bulky than my popsocket... plus the fact i can put my phony on my fridge and get the car mount is great. Still undecided thought as the cost is wild and the finger grip doesn't look comfortable as the popsocket is.
Does not charge on my Samsung desk top mag charger and after 20 min in the Tesla console charge spot it was uncomfortable to hold it was so hot. (all through a spigen clear case) iPhone 13.
I have the first gen , just bought this for a new case the original is still kicking they just don't make the adhesive for it anymore and the one for this is different then the older model I tried already
I bought an Oh Snap grip once. $30 for a tiny, flimsy, crappy bit of plastic with sharp edges. It was hard to open, hard to close, flimsy, and made me hate holding my phone. So sharp. So uncomfortable. I feel like such an idiot for giving that company $30 for $0.25 worth of plastic. I ripped it off my phone one day, threw it away, never looked back. Never again. Oh Snap is a company that sells garbage.
Did you let it charge for more than a moment? I've tried about five cases and while it will charge, the charge percentage never actually increases, but it does go into a charge state.
I have used pop sockets for many years, and have always found them to be uncomfortable to hold and thick. This Snap grip is actually (once you get used to it) VERY comfortable to hold. It is HALF the thickness of the pop socket making it much slimmer in the pocket.
I'm so spoiled by Amazon's shipping and return policy, I can't even justify the cost of buying this on their website. Gotta pay for shipping, and if you hate it, you have to pay for the return as well. Won't be getting until they sell it on Amazon.
I still have an OhSnap 2 on my phone back when it used a super strong rubber band as their mechanism. Lasted 3 years and even after the rubber band snapped I still use it as a back grip and magnetic adaptor for my car mount. I could've gotten one of the new ones but I wanted to wait until I got a new phone so I can pick a better color, and I'm too cheap to buy more than one, but I look forward to snagging one of these.
Have you tested this with vehicle wireless charging trays? MagSafe pass-through is great but I'm wondering if it pushes the phone away from charging trays enough to keep the phone from charging.
For the price they should definitely be doing at least a 3 year warranty. One year doesn't make me feel comfortable enough to drop 40 dollars on a grip. I can just use a 8 dollar slim love handle from Amazon instead.
ive has the ohsnap since the 2 and they've gone up and down. i like this new one but i miss the band they used to have. ps: apparently they tested the hinges for over a million "pulls" and it can support like 5 pounds or something
I had ohsnap 2 and 3 Is this one studier? Does it last longer? Is there other grips like it? I enjoyed attaching it to gym equipment instead of laying my phone on the floor
So far, I have used it everyday, without any issues. It turns out it is quite strong. Feels weak but holds well. Thanks for asking. Looks like it is time to do a little update video addressing that question. 👍
Does not work with all cases. I have a case from Spigen called the Classic C1 case, I have 2 other cases with different socket type and they work fine this is the only one that doesn’t work with my case..so disappointed
Yes, It is removable, and reusable. The “sticker” is washable and when dry it is sticky again. They also sell additional double sided replacement “stickers.”
It doesn’t last long. It should be called OhCrap not OhSnap. This piece of crap fell apart in 8 days of use. It no longer sat flat when retracting and the entire mechanism disconnected from the outer ring.

I agree! It is over priced. And the shipping is ridiculous. But they have to pay for all the advertising and marketing some how, right? 😁

how did the scissor mechanism hold up?
I've used one for a couple years now and it seems to hold up great! Well, used the Snap 3 and now the Snap 4 Luxe both for around a year maybe
I've had mine for 3 weeks, and it already won't close properly. I think this is a cheap piece of crap. I'm really angry at myself for falling for this ripoff.

It’s apparently rated for 1 million+ pulls. I’m excited to get mine in the mail
That’s great to know! Thanks for telling me. Wish I had known that before posting this video. 😬 Hope it arrives soon for you! 👍

The 4 lux is solid cant compare to older flimsy versions....
Did you let it charge for more than a moment? I've tried about five cases and while it will charge, the charge percentage never actually increases, but it does go into a charge state.
Yes. I’ve been using that otter case and that belkin stand every time I charge the phone and I haven’t had any issues. Fully charges each time.
It overheats during wireless charging on multiple Samsung phones that the ohsnap 3 had no problem charging. I would avoid.
Thanks so much for all this information!!! I can’t charge with the cable just wireless and I will use this with a Popmount 2
How does it compare to the pop socket being used on a naked phone (no case)? I have pop socket right now but find it kind of big
I have used pop sockets for many years, and have always found them to be uncomfortable to hold and thick. This Snap grip is actually (once you get used to it) VERY comfortable to hold. It is HALF the thickness of the pop socket making it much slimmer in the pocket.

Why oh why won't they make the scissor mechanism out of the same aluminum? For the price...
Is your case and oh snap compatible with the apple magsafe battery pack?
Can’t confirm. Says that it is. But I do not own one to test.

Mine is not spinning. I wonder if its because I did not peel the adhesive on mine does anyone know?
Pretty sure you need to use the adhesive, for it to function as expected. Hope it’s not a defective one. Good luck.
How do you spin it in your hand??
The grip is designed to spin. So when you hold the grip in between your fingers, it will rotate freely. As shown in the video.
Does it mess with Google pay?
Mine get very hot, when charging via magsafe!
I have also noticed it seems to get a bit warm, using that Belkin stand. 😬
Need to glue?
Do you mean the scissor mechanism of the flip grip will not close properly?
