    Thank you for posting this.
    I literally followed, discussed, loved, felt, and worshiped everything from hot damn on. I didn’t realize how what a big part of my own life story they are/were a part of.
    This world definitely will not be the same.
    But we will keep them alive in our memories and stories of this one band that changed our lives.

    Such a bummer. Every criticism Jordan makes regarding how chaotic and pointlessly tedious early etid songs were when that's what I miss most about them. Riff salad etid was the best.

    I know I always play old recordings of my riffs that I forget to re-learn them. I thought these established guitarists maybe were built different. lol, good to know this is just the method.

  • @sonofnothing

    So a lot of the times it comes across as 5, because you take the ending of the precious part and make it the new riff. My old band used this method all of the time, mostly with input from me (as the drummer). I like how it made a flow of one shitty riff to another 😂

    It’s funny he harps on rat boy not playing double bass with the breakdown, because this is the song that hooked me on ETID, and I always used to say that that particular part would have been awesome with double bass. But nonetheless, this is still my favorite ETID song. Followed closely by Romeo-a-go and no son of mine. This video is awesome. 😂

    • @RiceShouldBeFluffy
      @RiceShouldBeFluffy 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I'm kinda the opposite. There's something kinda extra heavy to me when the beat keeps a steady stomp, just stomping the crap out the kick and snare, and the chugs just float on top. A lot of older metalcore bands would do that.

    • @joelee6565
      @joelee6565 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@kevinmyles6369 I believe it's Eric Rachel @ east Trax both famous and was mastered by the one an only Alan douches @ west west side. Alan d is the unsung hero of this genre underrated on so many classics ... Props to both Adam d and Steve for being pillars as well but don't sleep on the Eric and Alan show

    • @sonofnothing
      @sonofnothing ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Nah, I think the double bass would have been too obvious. I like the empty space, it makes it almost heavier, imo.

      @@CFChristian it's all good haha. if I'm remembering right, in the track list enter plays first then the same riff pops up in the middle of logic. Andy said in an interview, the riff from logic, he just wrote random numbers on a paper and played it when he got home, IDK if he's talking about that riff or the chorus riff
