It will be an 8845HS stuck on to an older mini-pc board that they couldnt shift or had a defective CPU on it and it's taking up space. Had a few deals where i've bought barebones machines at the cost of the CPU only
@@djnes2k7 Upgradable RAM is repairable RAM, and since RAM failure accounts for around 8% of hardware failures (circa 2017 when figures were last analysed on a large scale) up to 20% when you remove dGPU and HDD as mini-pc won't suffer from those defects. That means a fifth of hardware failures go from easily repairable to irrecoverable once RAM gets soldered. That's assuming the PSU failures effect mini-pc's the same way as their desktop brethren too, as they are the most common point of failure. With external bricks and lower wattage failures there are likely less common and less destructuve to other hardware.
"not a mini pc channel" to be clear i dont mind, i too find them interesting also i really like your presentation style, you are really good with your filming, the music is nice but not intrusive and your voice is clear and concise.
would like to see how these perform when streaming while playing games like league or valorant. Want to gift it to a friend with a strict household so it's easy to hide/move around

honestly i just click on your videos because of the intro and transition music. background music also awesome, it makes me want to install games or go crazy and buy the 5950x for 300 bucks i'm drooling after for years to my 2020-bought 3900x workhorse.
Funnier than usual edit/script. Well done. I really like this PC. The one thing I would have different is options for colors than just black. How about orange, or yellow or green or blue, with the translucent scheme..mmmm
Hello!! Is it possible that you could make a video tutorial on how to configure this minipc from the Bios to get the most performance of it? Mine will arrive within this week and I am very excited to find this video. Thank you so much!
@@Fuscao_Preto Yes, that's why I asked Iceberg if he could test if the port works with Thunderbolt eGPU enclosures. USB4 _can_ support Thunderbolt, but doesn't have to.
@@MagnificentUsernameGuy Haven't checked, but I think it's safe to assume this one doesn't. After all, I don't think they'd shy away from mentioning it if it does. Also, I don't see why they'd bother including the Oculink port if the USB-C does indeed support TB3. These companies like to cut cost, so probably would only include one option, not both.
Until these things can play 1440p 60 at medium i'm not gonna touch these. Lose upgradibility and performance just for size is not a good trade off. Hopefully halo point fixes that
Hi, thank you very much for the information you provide in this video. But I have a question: does the processor that comes with this Ryzen 7 8845HS computer have an AI NPU? I don't understand why this mini PC is not promoted with AI features when GeeKom or Beelink are promoted with AI with the same processor. I would appreciate it if someone could help me with my question.
Yes, it has an NPU. The 8845HS is capable of 38 TOPs, 16 of which are from the NPU. I don’t know if GMKTec promotes the NucBox K8 Plus as an AI PC, or if not why not. For my reviews, I’ve decided that NPU-specific tests aren’t going to be a part of my benchmarking process for the moment. This is mainly because I’ve yet to find a good way of properly benchmarking NPU capabilities. The only machine learning benchmarking software I have is Geekbench ML, which doesn’t utilise the NPU - hence why it scores about the same as the 8745HS, which is the same CPU sans the upgraded NPU. (There is an NPU benchmark called Ulead Procyon, but it’s not intended for small outlets like myself. It’s only available on an annual subscription basis, and it’s priced over $1500 - or rather, “from $1495”, which I imagine is the lower unit price available to businesses buying multiple licenses, not the single license price that I’d want. I think LTT has it, so if you want specific NPU benchmarks, maybe they have something that will help?) Anyway, I polled the audience in my community tab a while back, and it seems not many people were interested in local AI benchmarks at all, so I decided not to pursue it further.
love the channel, but if this miniPC shit keeps going i'm going to bail. i like your delivery and commentary, but a video about each nerfed laptop is literally selling my time watching. i ain't gonna hang around for a parasocial relationship even if i like your delivery. invest or sell out.
Iceberg Tech sold me an illegally manufactured mini pc behind Tesco's
The "Rivals" callback had me rolling. I can't believe he was able to make that connection. Bravo!
At over $1000 CA ($700 US) for the base model, this definitely isn't anywhere near cheap.
Just steal one tbh
@gorillagroddgaming the mini-PCs at the store are free, you can just take them home. I have 471 mini-PCs

I think the more likely issue is it straight up not working, or you not being sent a mini PC at all.

Yes and no, they don't have upgradable ram an will lack an oculink connection.

Exactly ^ 32gb is just fine for now and a while in the future for gaming
