The blue and white I/O needs to pre prep his boat at home . The only thing I have to do when I pull up is the two rear straps and the winch . And if there is a line , I will take those off while waiting and get my bow line ready. I usually am by myself so I have a long bow line that I secure to my hitch , back down bump the brakes boat slides off then pull up slightly jump out secure boat out of way of launch ramp and go park. On a busy day a few inconsiderate people call cause a lot of delay and flaring tempers.
Where I launch boats at in Southwest Florida the man with the black truck and the pig of a boat would have four flat tires when he returned to the ramp
After boating for around 50 years, it seems that boating knowledge, including trailer backing is becoming a lost art. Between being subjected this during the launching and recovery, unless you have a really great time in the boat, it’s just not worth it anymore. Especially at my age now, I just don’t have the patience. I will still try and help if I can, but a lot think they know what they’re doing and don’t appreciate the gesture, or they’re drunk.🥴
Yeah and they get the don't tell me what to do attitude new boaters need to just hire a captain for a couple days and show you how to back a trailer and laws and rules you need to know and how to recognize sandbars and need to take a safety course at a class because the people who take it on the internet don't seem to learn anything
There are just way too many people who don't have a clue to know how to back up and launch a boat. They never think to go to some big empty parking lot to practice on how to back up the correct way when being at a boat ramp. Instead they choose to take up everyone else's time. It's that all they think about is me me me. That's all I had to say.
I read but have not tried the following method of backing a trailer. When backing a trailer grasp the wheel on the bottom instead of the top. Then steer normally.
To reverse a car with a trailer attached only use your mirrors and if the trailer swings to the right .... Right hand down on the steering wheel and naturally opposite with the trailer swinging to the left .... left hand down.
So why exactly did the other boat on the trailer just sit in the lot? Load and tidy everything away from the ramp. and the bozo backing up 1,0000 times? Walk over and tell the other guy to move. Some people need to NOT try to fake it until they make it.
@@BadBoats I've been a truck driver for 15 years. I learned to back trailers while I was growing up on Lake Norman. Now, I back 53' trailers into near impossible places. I love it.
Spoken like a true buffoon biden voter 🤣... just another jealous "Dumb"ocrat wishing their leftist libtard looser state was as successful as the great state of Florida 😅😄
What’s going on in the middle of these ramps that looks like it has been excavated and left open? Doesn’t the construction company own any Orange cones?
It would help a lot if the pick-up trucks would lower their tailgates so they could see the trailer better especially when backing an empty trailer up. Don't use your mirrors either. Turn around and look where you are going.
Growing up as a kid we learned how to operate small boats, trailers, learning your way up to a larger boat & trailer; These days people with no boating experience starting out with large boats & trailers while making themselves look lost. I heard a guy ask one time at a marina if the newer boats [ which he had ] still had drainplugs but then again it does make for good videos right. lol
OMG Mr Robert. If the guy at the Marina had a sense of humor he would've told the guy, "Yaa sure. After 2019 they have Auto Drain Valve. Just look for the button on the dashboard. But lookout sometimes each manufacturer disguises it with different names"I wonder how long the guy would look for the button. Lmao 😂
Backing a trailer is easy once you know the secret. Put your hand at the BOTTOM of the steering wheel. If you want the back of the trailer to move left, move your hand to the left & vica versa
That silver truck was painful to watch. Everyone is a beginner at some point but people should practice backing up and then practice some more before getting to a ramp. It doesn't help that it looks like he had 2-3 people ''helping'' him. I don't even know where to start with the larger boat and the blue/black truck..
The bloke in the grey truck needs to be told to hold the bottom of the steering wheel to make the trailer go in the direction you move the wheel. He could easily have launched behind the loiterers 3 times, and chickened out each time. I'll bet he had a big red face....
90% of the time it is people who wait till they unload into the water before they decide to get things into the boat for the trip on the water..They will make repeated trips back and forth to the truck grabbing towels and tubes ..you would think they would be more respectful to have everything ready and in the boat before they back into the dock to unload..Instead the take up dock time having everyone wait for them
I grew up launching boats & fishing alone in S. Louisiana near Lake Charles. Ya got all kinds of fishing down there but the key to good fishing is having the boat on the water. Some of these Kats are bad news & it's not a learning problem. Anyone can learn to back up ~ getting everything out of the car & in the boat isn't done while you stop all the boat traffic at the ramp! One group not only tied up the a launch but blocked other cars from going across the top of the Ramp to get to other launch slots. Bad manners or dumb? IDKnow what it is but common sense says you have your sH!T in the boat & you back in. But you can't count on much common sense out there so don't go falling in the water?
There should be a separate trailer test required on your driver's license, not to mention a certificate of competence for boat operation.
As well as motor homes especially pulling atrailor
Nah too many politicians who have boats and trailers that aren't good at their first jobs
Once you pull out, get away from the boat launch. Prep your boat before launch, and clean up or tidy your boat away from the launch.
If the guy in silver truck was sober he needs to start drinking.
😆
He needs a dumbass to move his big boat and he needs to train his partner how to direct a trailer
The big boat and black truck family needs some lessons on boat ramp etiquette. Seriously!
It is amazing what you see at boat ramp.
Does not apply to them...
Junkie Jones needs to learn to how to launch his boat. They were the much bigger dung show. The small crap boat owner was clueless.

What in the world is really going on!! When u thought you seen it all at the boat ramp but apparently not this is crazy.😂😂
There are some people who should just stay on dry land and NEVER buy a boat. These are the same people who will end up on a reef, sand bar or rocks.

It is funny to watching them back up but they should go a empty parking lot to practice
The lesson here is to PRACTICE backing up BEFORE you get to the boat ramp !
Nothing to practice!! Super easy
@@vikings1960 you’re the reason we have boaters like this. Giving people false confidence..
Driver's education would help
@@vikings1960why don't you stay at the ramp and show these people how to do it so the rest of us can get out of here and go fishing
At 12:50; add to launch checklist, "stow anchor". ;-)

I was backing my dad's boat trailer when I was 13 years old because he couldn't back it for shit.

@@duaneayers6117 I’m one of those ppl unfortunately 😆 I STILL struggle with backing up with a trailer hitched on the tractor
They both look like they're pushing ropes.
The best boat ramp video I ever saw, was the guy that launched and took off in the boat and left the trailer and truck at the ramp.😲
I wish our ramps had them big red topped poles to mark the ramps. That would make things way easier. Except for these people.
I am so thankful I live on the lake and have a boathouse

Imagine this same guy will be driving this boat.
I wonder how much money I would make if I put a sign out at the boat ramp "$20 to have a professional driver back your boat in."
You would win lottery

Wish they would get out of there. I want to take my boat down to the ramp and work on it.
Always be very cautious on the water remember most boat owners have no freaking idea what they’re doing
His transmission will be wore out by the time he gets the boat in the water😂
This is what I call entertainment
Just because you can buy a boat doesnt mean you should.
People who block the boat ramps are the worst people on the planet! No consideration. The other family trying to back in was extremely patient.
Is this in Florida ? I enjoy your videos ! Never seen so many Gilligans in one spot !

Why didn't they use the other ramp?
I guess pride, or I was here first syndrome
Didn't think that boat was ever getting in the water!
Just WOW… has to be his 1st time ever backing a trailer.
Was there a gas leak in the area? Some reason that so many non-drivers are at this ramp?
I have a Nortech 392 Superfish. 39 ft without joking i never took more than 3 minutes unless the ramps were over run with people!!!
Hope plug is in
I'm more than pretty sure that that trailer isn't sized correctly for that boat.
Whenever I pulled up to the ramp, it usually took me no longer that two minutes to have my boat in the water and my truck/trailer removed.
People just need to practice and be considerate
Two minutes?? Wow. U should practice then. Too long
@@vikings1960 Well, that's because I had to do most of the work.
You should have to pass a boat launching/ drivers test
Before you can purchase a boat 😂

Nice touch

A certified test
Omg some people should practice reversing a trailer in a big car park before attempting a boat ramp!
amazing
