Poison was originally going to be covered in the script, but I realized her story is really similar to Birdo, down to my conclusion about the canonicity of her gender, so I cut it for time to focus on the earlier character. If you want a quick summary of what it would've been: Poison's gender has been flip flopped on over time, but the original character sheets described her as being trans. This was at a time when Capcom was pumping out games by the minute and she and Roxy were just female characters made to spice the enemy roster up a bit, and the creator added this little detail about them being trans. I genuinely don't think there was that much thought put into this choice and any debate or asinine "she's not trans in Japan" stuff is dumb and overcomplicating it. (Also, I doubt there would be this much pussyfooting around it if it wasn't this specific topic, because people choose to get weird about this and only this stuff to this extent). I don't care about what Yoshinori Ono has to say. That guy's dumb and signed off on AE Yun. So I think of Poison as being trans and the victim of a bunch of people who didn't really understand what kind of character they created (but felt compelled to keep using because waifu awooga) And yeah Eagle is at least implied to be gay by his Japanese win quotes

Also, that part about Dragon Age was really interesting! I actually played and beat Inquisition but never realized that guy was gay (In my defense, I never had him in my party for whatever reason lol) At least I did have some representation in my party via Iron Bull haha

I remember years ago hearing in some video about homosexuality (in some form) being a characteristic trait in psychopaths (as well as things like paranoia), so the whole Gay Antagonist thing made sense to me. Not that all gays are crazy villains, but if if a villain was gay I'd be like, yeah that makes sense.
