Crackdown is such a high risk position for everyone involved, it takes balls of steel to go crackdown on Dake. There are so many details but I like that you covered a couple of key ones, including his diligent ankle control (straightening and shelving legs), his weight shift to avoid the crotch lift, and how he is SO good at avoiding a good crotch lock or chest lock grip early on (sealing off, dropping his inside hip, etc). I love how dynamic he is at changing his own hand positioning too.

Elite level Russians shown in the video (Kurbanaliev and Tsabolov), as well as Kadimagomedov who Zaurbek wrestled against several times, all have more sophisticated and versatile chest wraps and crotch locks than Dake, so it was hardly something that Sidakov would've been worried about leading up to his bout against him. By the way, Kyle's peculiarly freestyle-type defense is a pretty rare exception for a folkstyle reared American.

@@kralj099 I 100% agree with what you're saying about Dake's technique compared to Russians and that's a really good point. But Dake is brutally strong when he locks his hands and wins most chest wrap exchanges in his other matches. I'd say he made Sidakov work for his points in these two examples, even though Sidakov ultimately outclassed him both times.
