I’m convinced you are the smartest guy going! Thank you. I like to call it a “crossover” step (i.e. breaking ankles). This is much more apparent when the same footwork is used for Uguev’s superduck - in Uguev’s case the back foot squares and hit first as the axis is directed side to side.
The split/crossover step and knee punch will become the standard soon

The genius behind it is that the same motion must work because:
He primarily uses a left overtie to split Step his lead leg, which is primarily used to attack right leg leads. So if the opponent is left leg lead, the same right arm that is used to reach for the right leg sprawling back, already has an easier time getting the left leg due to its proximity. So all he has to do is adjust his body according to what the opponent is doing. Brilliant

Great work! Have you seen Sidakov's matches vs Israil Kasumov (which he both lost)? They have an interesting dynamic going, in which the touch-and-go to hi-c plays a crucial part. In their 1st match, almost every time Sidakov reaches for a collar tie with his left, Kasumov reaches for a baseball grip and turns it into a Russian tie / 2on1. Towards the later stages of the match (and their 2nd match) Sidakov adapts to it with precisely this sequence (reach for collar tie, Kasumov reaches for baseball grip, Sidakov shoots through the opening towards hi-c). It works really beautifully the first time he does it (and one or two after that). Definitely worth checking out.

@@WrestlingRabbitHole Sure thing. This was the first match they had in 2017: th-cam.com/video/fxCLCCCozY4/w-d-xo.html
And this should've been the second: th-cam.com/video/yWNcK-PVE1Q/w-d-xo.html
