Sidakov and his coaches have learned all the steps to doing these takedowns. Everything, from stance, hand fighting, collar ties, setups, captures and finishes. Thank you for showing video in great detail, stop motion and slow motion. When Sidakov captures the heel, opponent is at a disadvantage. And opponent is in even worse position when Sidakov lifts opponent off the mat, while Sidakov is still on his knees. Sidakov will shoot several times to opponent’s right leg. Later in match, Sidakov will shoot to opponent’s left leg-Sidakov begins both of these takedowns with his same foot taking the first penetration step. This can fool his opponent, because it’s all the same beginning motion as opposite leg attack. Sidakov is good at getting his knees under his shoulders when shooting to capture a leg. He rarely gets caught in an extended position after capture of single leg. Extended position-reaching, head down on mat, body stretched out, while opponent has a good belly down sprawl. In some videos, I see Yianni and Spencer Lee both get caught in extreme extended positions while shooting single leg takedown. Yet somehow they hold neutral or eventually get a takedown. No disrespect to either of these champions. But I believe they should avoid getting extended with their head down on mat, hands reaching locked on a leg, and knees on mat. I don’t know! Maybe it’s a difference in styles or different technique altogether. I’m in my 70’s, in my competition days, all these wrestlers would win against me easily.
Did I just find the Brandan Dorman of Wrestling? 😀 No but seriously, thank you for what you do, it's a pleasure to hear someone passionate about the game🤜🤛
