  • 2001 Toyota Avalon with 1MZ engine. Got a check engine light and found codes P1155 A/F Sensor Heater Circuit Malfunction and P1130 A/F Sensor Circuit Range. The P1155 tells you the heater in the sensor has failed while the P1130 means the measurement is out of range, because the sensor has failed. The fix was replacing the Bank 2 (front) Air Fuel Sensor, some call it an oxygen sensor. This used a Denso 234-9021:

Check engine light came back? P1130 is on the other side of the engine, bank 1 sensor 1, right below next to the bottom fire wall. California has its own O/F mixture sensor requirements and more expensive. DENSO should come with a little anti-seize compound, no?

I have P1155, but I confirmed that the heater circuit on the sensor is still closed. I guess it’s an upstream issue? The code came up after I took it to the dealer for maintenance, not sure what they could’ve messed up

You should stock up on those sensors as they break every 5 years or so. I'm on my 3rd one.
