Has anyone run into the issue with the update to Beta 29.5.0 that this does not work anymore? I have tried various images and all I get is a result as if I just gave it a prompt of "oil painting" without creating channels
Excellent tutorial, thanks. Question: can you fine-tune (by re-generating) specific areas/objects of the image? It would be great to see a tutorial of how to "paint" the image by continuously regenerating different objects/areas of the image.
This is impressive! However, I was wondering if there’s a way to fine-tune the render to achieve a look more like an old master’s oil painting while still retaining the realism. I’m aiming for something less dabby and closer to Magritte’s style.
It's really unfortunate that this tip no longer works; it's showing a blue screen error. Is there any way to fix it? Have you tried doing it again? Please share your experience
Hello - I have an example of a picture that I want to create but I can't figure out what program or technique was used in Photoshop. Can anyone help? Thank you.
I'm having an issue when selecting 10% in the HSB , it shows "No pixels are selected" when I perform the Ctrl click on the channel , is this an issue with the overall lightness / darkness of my image ?
Same thing happened to me, and the issue was I didn't have the whole photo selected via the rectangular marquee tool prior to trying to control clikc on the new channel lol
i have a vector image and i want to draw hand drawing sketch. i tried your way but it doesn't work. If you know something better to do eaily let me know.
The elephant at the end?!? How do you do all those types of designs? I can only seem to get a painting type effect to actually work. Anything else I try, just only kinda does an art painting generation.
Hi, would it be possible to trace a photo on iOS-ie, iPhone-version of the Photoshop and turn it into an impressionistic watercolour image somehow or not, please? Thank you kindly. Stay safe always.
Kind of ridiculous that Adobe still has integrated this process within the tool itself. All that's needed is a checkbox and a slider and we wouldn't be forced to use a workaround.
How do you even get to generative fill? You just launch into the tutorial part way through assuming we're already advanced enough to know how to get there and what you're talking about with channels and paths........""ïf we use our contextural task bar"......whats that and where do I find it?
It's in the Window menu. It should be automatically enabled if you are using the latest version of Photoshop. I'm sorry if I'm moving too fast, it's hard to balance tutorials for all levels of users. I always try my best to be clear with everything I do, please let me know if you need more help following along.
Adobe made this function wildly inconvenient (( This alchemy infuriates(It doesn't work, did it according to your instructions, 10 times and nothing worked. Photoshop 25.9
It is more of a workaround until they bring Structure Reference to Photoshop, which they already have on the Firefly website. Since I recorded this video a lot has changed and the new Image Model in Photoshop might not allow this technique to work reliably. I haven't tested it in a while.
This doesn't work. The AI will still try and guess whats in your image. The painterly effect works, but AI turns my robots into flocks of birds or piles of stone.
This was so soo helpful! Super clear and wonderfully explained. Thank you so much, subscribed immediately :)
This is so cool, Martin! Thank you for making such discoveries and sharing with us!
Very clear instructions and demonstration. Thank you.
Super clever! You basically implemented Controlnet in Photoshop.
I Love this tutorial! I’m going to try it immediately ❤
Have fun 🙌😉
This is an excellent tutorial and so easy to follow. Thank you so much. Subscribed.
Very well done 👍🏾
i did everything u said and it doesnt work
very helpful, thank you!
Absolutely excellent class! A bit fast cause I speak spanish, but so cool and creative! Thank you , best from Uruguay!

Yep, doesn't work.
It's not working for me either I tried a bunch of times thinking I was doing something wrong
@@WilliamRobertsai If you go back to version 25.8 and it should work.
Same issue
Tried the latest Beta and doesn;t work , had to return to the non-Beta version
Wonderful work!
Brilliant explanation style! Bravo! New Subscriber is here :)
Awesome tutorial thanks a lot
Thanks for this!!!
Thank you! This is a very interesting tutorial. Can you please suggest a good pen tablet (without a screen) for beginners?
Is there any way of testing this method when using the Generative Fill option on Adobe's website?
nice and informative(better than others i’ve seen) do you need to alter the photo prior to using these actions?

GREAT TIP!
is there any tutorial in printing them?
Is there a way to do this in Firefly only?
How do you do it without the AI for older versions

What is the shortcut to change the alpha color channel on Macbook pro?
I got it. It's a completed different way.

same, just turns the image glassy blue
It could be the Ansel Adams lawsuit...
Same here. Would be so much appreciated if anyone shares how to fix it. : )
@@oliveryu984 I guess it works in the non beta version however it seems not as good.
@@shearak1421 I had the same problem when using the Beta version but non-Beta is fine

when I try it it doesn't render my image but a completely different creation. What am I doing wrong?
Are you using the Beta version of Photoshop ? There's a problem here , try the non-Beta
have you tried using specific artists in the generative fill …like van gogh?

Doe the action works in stable version of Photoshop?
Works fine in the non-Beta version
@@GPYCROFT Thanks!
thank you.
The alpha channel has a red mask for me, opacity 50%. Is this the default setting or can I remove it?
Same for me. Can’t figure out what I’m doing wrong
Nice!
Top, thanks
What actually happens with the aplha channel? How does it work?
awesome!

Maybe they changed something.

Where is Frida khalo in video? Show us how to do this effect on human face
This only works in the normal Photoshop version, not in the current beta.

You can also find generative fill in the edit menu
You need to download Photoshop Beta because there is no Generative fill in regular version.
Unfortunately Adobe has removed this feature
No, it works fine in the non-Beta version
@@GPYCROFT After the latest update, it's now been removed from the non-beta version. Adobe need to be transparent about this disabling of features.

Thumbnail of the video is deceptive because this method doesn't really work with faces. AI literally destroys the face.
