This is my favorite episode! About 10 years ago I came back to church from being away for many years. I’ve been through a lot, being mistreated by men and dealing with depression and food addiction. About 8 years ago I was at a Gaither Vocal Band concert and they sang “Do you want to be Well?” which happens to be about this story. When they were singing this song I felt The Holy Spirit asking me the same question and telling me I needed to go to Celebrate Recovery to find healing. It completely turned everything around for me. So when I realized what this episode was I immediately burst into tears and it’s been my favorite ever since!
Stacey ~ Thats an inspiring story Stacy! l struggle with depression about a sin l struggle with too, and it gets so dark at times ...well l wonder if l'm even saved. lt can be VERY frightening indeed. l'm getting recovery help and am active in Church so when l sin l MUST depend on Jesus believing His blood covers me also. Depression is so isolating, and the accuser has SUCH A LOUD VOICE ...doesn't he? l'd like to encourage you in your walk, as your story has encouraged me also. :) btw: This episode is my favourite as well! l've watched it like 10 times. Love in Christ to you ~ Theresa Fro Vancouver BC Canada.
Referring to illness as sin still happens today. Back in the late 80s I overheard an old man in our Church as my Dad what sin he must have committed to be diagnosed with cancer. As we were in the Church parking lot I bit my tongue but still managed to ask him "when did you become a crazy old man?" I turned away with my Dad but I could tell it hurt his feelings. We had the 1st of many long talks. I wouldn't be surprised to hear it spewed out of someone else's mouth even today.
Yes he was but then they reconnected after he was healed by Jesus and they keep in touch. And the reason he was ignored was because the zelot order wouldn't let him.
You are amazing in the details you find and understand in this portion of this episode! I cannot tell you how many times I have watched this episode and didn't even consider most of what you showed us (the type of bricks the wall is made of). And I consider myself as someone who focuses on the details. I can't wait to see the next installment 😊. Thank you!
One of my favorite episodes. My question relates to the upcoming video about Simon's calling: As Simon is readying to assinate the Roman Official, who was Atticus in disguise, he sees his paralyzed brother walking accross the street. After Simon chases after his brother, Atticus is shown staring, bewildered, behind the flames of the burning wagon diversion. Is Atticus standing behind the flames some kind of foreshadowing?
I imagine that by 14:43 when Simon is a teenager it must have been 6BC when the Zealots started. Simon might not have been born at the time they started, but he reached the age to join by then. Makes sense to me.
Just wanted to let you know that I really appreciate your content I’ve learned so much about my faith and Jewish culture may the lord Jesus Christ be with you❤️✝️👑
random but I think I heard one time in an interview or video Dallas saying that there was a purpose behind Atticus always eating in the chosen can anyone confirm this?? lol
Do you notice how critical you are of The Chosen? Explaining it is quite different than being critical! Yes, I understand I don't have to watch, so I won't.
I absolutely have to be critical of Christian media. It’s the only way we get better and make more shows like the chosen. I’m not doing it for no reason 😐😁.

My all time favorite episode. And, IMHO, Zee could have been a better brother. He just left Jesse to become a homeless person.
I love this episode as well and think they did a great job with it!
Merci pour ce décryptage toujours très intéressant. J’aime beaucoup la manière dont le sujet est traité par Dallas Jenkins. 🙏🙏🙏
My favourite episode too, yes love the start and the music that supports the lack of dialogue.
This episode always makes me so emotional❤
13:34 Zee giving an epic Kubrick Stare at the Romans! 😂
This is my favorite episode
You do great deep dives
Hello Brandon. I watched this earlier today and couldn't comment. So I waited til this evening. Amen able to commit
Love the episode.
This is one of my favorite episodes.
Amazing! Thank you Brandon !!
Great video!
Hello Brandon
Where can we see the Behind The Scenes clips of the pool?
The separation of the brothers was sad
Selfishness hasn't change much these days either
I think Jesse may have had to leave because he knew the Order would be after him, as well as Atticus.
random but I think I heard one time in an interview or video Dallas saying that there was a purpose behind Atticus always eating in the chosen can anyone confirm this?? lol
Great episode. But all of them are.
How did he get to the pool if he didn't have anyone to help him?
He may have paid someone. I have to wonder about how they took care of bodily functions.
@debblouin I had the same thought.
