Kaykay Jackson The POWER in this performance...the body language. You watch him and you are sitting on the edge of your seat WAITING for that next stanza. "What will he do next?" Then he goes in soft and BAM, ends with this amazing "skat" thing. It's still crazy good. In 2015!
My friends the fact that Phillip Phillips won over Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez is why American Idol got cancelled. Less talented good looking boys with guitars always won over much more talented singers. I mean... This performance should have won him the show alone!!! Not even veterans of the music industry can perform this good!!
I agree that Phillip had some stiff competition in Joshua but I was never a huge proponent of Jessica. I just didn't think she was that great. I personally just liked the tone and sound of Phillip more.

You can see by the looks on their faces every single performance that he was the best talent that year. I never had and never wanted to watch any reality TV. But, since Steven Tyler was a judge that year, and hubby and I are huge Aerosmith fans, he convinced me to watch it. Not knowing how stupid the politics and teeny-bopper voters were, I was sure that Joshua would win based on his vocal range, talent, stage presence and the fact that the judges realized what a phenomenal performer he was by their comments and standing ovations. When he came in third and Phil Phillips won, I realized what a sham the show is and never watched it again.
Simply Phillip Phillips was more marketable, current, and would sell albums. Joshua ledets style isn't main stream. Phillips is a great musician as well.

After watching the James Brown movie today I immediately thought of this performance. I had to come watch it again. This is hands down the BEST performance by a singer on any singing competition show. This is the best thing I've ever heard in my life. I will always stand by that Joshua is destined for stardom.
