    The rear lights do turn on when the door open and turn off when the door closed. I have a 2018 CR-V LX. Love it 💯

      Nice job MoNo K. I got to that part of the video and was about to write the same thing. Then I saw your post and thought, "good job."

      MoNo K how do you like/dislike the car overall? I’m tying to find review videos from people that have the 2018 Honda LX. I’m looking at the exact one you have. But I’m coming from a Honda EX so I had sunroof, heated leather seats, power seats etc.

    How is it after these about 2 years of usage? No oil dilution issues appeared? Drives well, reliable? Is the drive itself smooth? Does the car feel snappy enough?
    Thanks a lot for answering.

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No oil dilution issues at all. I will say that we are in an extreme heat environment rather than a cold one, so we aren't too concerned about dilution. Drives great, reliable as any other Honda we have owned. I would say the weakness is its "snappiness". Off the line it is a bit slow, especially with eco mode on. If your going at highway speed it doesn't have issues passing and things like that.

    do u have issues when it comes to heating up the car during winter.it takes a long time for it to warm up the car and also the vibration while in drive. i have read a lot of complaints about this.how is your CRV so far?

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Our CRV is good thus far! Its still very new, just hitting 1000 miles not too long ago. No complaints on vibration or anything like that. It only gets down into the 30s here so heating isn't too difficult. Something to remember with small very efficient engines, like the 1.5L Turbo, is that they are tiny! So they produce very little heat because they are so efficient, and its not just Honda. Instead of letting it idle to warm up, just start driving and that should help the situation. Also check to make sure your front grille shutters are working properly! Thanks for watching!

      The vibration issues while in idle was with the previous CR-Vs.

    Any issues with the engine regarding oil dilution? Planning to get this one as well.

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have not had any issues with oil dilution with mine. And it has about 8k on it and had its first oil change done at 7k. It's starting to get colder here so it might develop, who knows. Honda usually does a fairly good job on keeping up with recalls and I expect this issue to be resolved soon. If the problem does develop I will report back to you! Thanks for watching!

    Any issues with gas mixing with the engine oil? I heard complaints about this when I was about to buy one.

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't had any issues, but I haven't had to change to oil yet either. This engine is a pretty proven engine, so it shouldn't have any reliability issues!

    • @ewanl9065
      @ewanl9065 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      can you update us after your first oil change? Interested to know about this issue too

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I certainly can! I have looked at a few forums about the issue and does seem a bit concerning. It seems as though it happens most in cold climates, and I happen to live in an extremely hot climate. I am almost at 5k I believe, and the maintenance minder hasn't said to change it yet but I know I am approaching the time. But I will post a video when I do change it, so be sure to check back or subscribe to know when I post it! Thanks for watching!

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ewanl9065 I just wanted to let you guys know that we did do our first oil change, which was at 7,200 miles when the maintenance minder said 15%. There wasn't any signs of gas in the oil and the dipstick read the correct amount. Reading the news recently I do believe Honda is going to either recall or suggest a fix sometime in November. These issues mainly stem from areas with cold climates. Its just starting to get cold here so maybe the issue will develop in this CRV. Time will tell!

    This Honda does not have a CD player, which is a no no for millions of people including me...

    • @crazyjdkid
      @crazyjdkid  6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think you will find that the vast majority of car manufacturers are doing away with CD players. Most other well equipped models of this class do not have CD players either. What I would suggest for you is to either to get an aux CD player and plug it into the Aux cord. Or even better buy a small usb flash drive and put all your music on that and leave it plugged in. I think that you will find within the next 2-3 years CD players will no longer be found in cars. Thanks for watching!

    • @davidchodds
      @davidchodds 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True crazyjdkid. When I was shopping around for a brand new SUV, no other car company had CD players in their new cars. And the dealers all said the same thing you did. P.S.- I wound up getting the 2018 CRV.

      Yes, streaming music has definitely replaced most other forms of listening to music. I use Android and it works great with the system as well!
