      Not sure about it yet, but almost all of my favourite guitar parts are played on strats, so it apparently is my personal favourite

      Best is entirely up for debate, I'd say Tele personally! One thing that is for certain is the most important being 'The Log'!

  • @LennyJohnson5

    You're a virtuoso.... it's not up for debate. Truly one of the greatest around.

    • @jordandangelo180
      @jordandangelo180 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Yes that is definitely a fact. The ability to mute/dampen strings, the articulation, the perfect pitch bends, the unique style, the slides and the tones, the dynamics, sense of melody, continuous improvement etc....all sign of a virtuoso. Especially accomplishing all of this at such a young age. Being humble is another trait. Jimi Hendrix, Allan Holdsworth, Stevie Ray Vaughan, three examples musicians with titanic gifts who were all extremely humble and always knew there was more to learn and never called themselves the best. That’s how they continued to grow and always seem to be improving and creating.
      * Tom Bukovac and Chris Buck make an all guitar album alà Jeff Beck 💿 imagine the possibilities.

      @LennyJohnson5 3 ปีที่แล้ว +13

      @@greenbrightly Everyone has their own preference Neil, and just because your's is Mozart doesn't mean the term 'virtuoso' can't be applied to other artists. It's not an exclusive term. And besides, Mozart was merely a pop star of his time....

      I’m almost right there with you. My two favorite axes in my arsenal are my old (early-90’s) Epiphone Sheraton Ⅱ with a pair of Duncan ‘59s and all hardware replaced to nickel, as well as my 2015 Fender American Special Telecaster. But my Shijie STE-Relic is winning me over quickly.

    • @OnAir21
      @OnAir21 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@joeschlicht Go with the semi-hollow, 335-style first. IMHO, I think it’s a hair more versatile than a T-style. And, for me, that’s a difficult statement to make. Of course, gotta go with T-style first if you’re seeking a little twang. Nothing beats a Tele’s smack.

    • @joeschlicht
      @joeschlicht 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@OnAir21 It's a tough choice, owning both a Les Paul and a CS strat, both similar but different to the 335/tele. Money no object, I would probably choose the 335 first, but I do want a tele or thinline custom pretty badly too.

    Also, about your playing. I like how you've basically reached virtuoso level while never ( apparently ) stretching beyond a fret per finger, rarely even using the pinky to solo, and just emphasizing pitch perfect bends, soulful vibrato, beautiful phrasing, and rock solid feel. Very nice, I am inspired to practice more.

    Nice to see David GIlmour borrowing Chris's jacket for the outro solo on the '62 strat.
