    For anyone unfamiliar with Frank Mir he was basically the first American Heavy Weight in MMA to successfully use high level Jiu Jitsu on a regular basis. Guys knew to tap when he locked in a submission hold because he didn't hesitate to break a bone and choke someone unconscious if they decided to be a hero and try to fight their way out. Frank Mir is an absolute legend.

    • @REXAZOR
      @REXAZOR 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@narcissus79 I'm sorry but what endurance? You are being extremely vague.
      There is a 5-10% decline in vo2max by age 40. This can be reduced to 5 or less if u keep training hard. But in no way does the cardiovascular needs for the sport of mma improve with age hence why any fighter u observe at 40 v 30 has much lower volume output and gets tired far more quickly especially if they wrestle. Just watch Damian Maia--Romero---Dan Henderson...or any older fighter they hardly throw any volume and they can hardly wrestle well anymore cause they get tired quicker cause wrestling and high flurrys ain't relying on the endurance your talking about lol.
      The only endurance that will be okay as you age till 40s is long slow ass cardiac output type work for hours on end or muscular endurance. This is not what the sport of MMA primarily demands it is highly aerobically power (Vo2max peak) and Alactic (phosphagen system). This is due to the 5minute time rounds with constant 4-10 seconds flurrys and high end pace
      So no..not a single S/C coach is ever agreeing with you that the endurance you need for MMA improves as you age lmao. Lets not even get into the decline in Power The decline in Speed and Reflex and the Decline in testosterone levels after age 37 which impeded recovery among other things....Some of those may not matter to a HWs as much esp roided guys like Shaw.... but the Stamina will after 1 round.

    In some of the choke holds where Brian has one hand free. It really seems he could just use his sheer strength to repeatedly punch someone on the side of the head to break free. Not the most effective way to break free but, it would allow Bryan to do great physical trauma + breaking free from the hold. Sometimes sheer strength can beat technical prowess.

    • @BeardOfPower7
      @BeardOfPower7 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      Doesn't matter how strong you are in some positions you just aren't able to use it. How are you going to punch someone in the side of the head when their head is close right beside yours? The only opening is the body. That won't make his opponent break the hold.

      @@waynus2021 To clarify it won't make Martyn Ford break the hold. The guy he's supposed to fight, he's a monster and has actually been in fights.
      Brian is big and strong but his movements are restricted for that very reason. He can't punch as hard as a lot of people want to believe. You'd think he'd be able to knock the heavy bag off the ceiling like some juggernaut. Have you ever tried to punch off your back?
      Saying all this and I want Brian to win, but he needs to ramp up his training and do some hard sparring to get used to punches coming at him. What angles to take and where to orient his feet based off his opponents stance. Let him go off instincts for a few rounds then try train this way he reacts naturally to be more technical.
      All this grappling isn't going to get you anywhere if you don't know how to control the distance with strikes and get inside with foot movement. That's Brian's weakness, Is the footwork, he said it himself. A lighter and more experienced fighter will dance around him, kicking him in the legs for 15 minutes, and likely never get touched.
