Even the admittedly dubious classic "KITT gets dumped in toxic waste" scene in the original was still filmed with REAL physical objects (Even though it was obvious it was filmed in minature. But even that made up for it by the vocal perfomance of Anthony Daniels as a panic stricken KITT begging for help and Micheal's terror while watching his buddy suffer and being unable to help. Theres just no heart in todays special effects

I Agree that the first generation K.I.T.T. is the best ever because it brings out the kids in us, it was the time when there are no cellphones yet..80's great time, great TV series..imagine if B.A. Baracus would use KITT to escape with the A-Team...best ACTION and ADVENTURE series!!

The 2000 would need a full car restore that'll probably cost a few grand and then the new dash, buttons, gas peddle, new front bumper, new rear tail lamps, new wheels and it'll probably cost around $18,000-$20,000

Could have at least kept the brand of the car the SAME from the older one. We went from an old Pontiac to a new Ford Mustang. Quite frankly I think this show was made JUST to promote the sales of a damn car! They didn't pull that shit in the older series. The show was to promote ITSELF which happen to feature a state-of-the-art super car. Know what I mean?

Jeremy Williams It was only a cheap plotdevice for the so-called "3. series", so why would they've bothered? Hasselhoff only did his one appearance because of nostalgia. What this franchise needs is a Batman Begins type of cinematic entry, true to the spirit and style of the original TV-show.
I can't even describe how good the original show was. Script, action, car and actors all top notch.

Only the cars of the original series count as Knight Rider to me. That 2009 crap was a big mistake.
A faithful replica of the two thousand will at least cost $40-50,000 in parts alone. And I'm not counting the labor cost.
